Welcome to the blog IQ 98.6.
I am honestly glad that Chinese in China are still following their heritage and are not easily falling prey by propaganda like the Native American Indians and Aborigines centuries ago.
The Whites tried the same propaganda in China and India, attempting colonisation, using religion to convert them, but failed and China and India did not became the victims of genocide and leading to losing their land.
Sure, Westerners can call these long standing traditions as 'superstition', but as LKY said - "it has given them comfort for thousands of years". And LKY also added this very telling remark - "Who is to say that what is in the Bible is not superstition". This video is still on Youtube, titled "Lee Kuan Yew on religious tolerance". Do watch it.
