When facts are hard to believe

Calling A Spade A Spade:
You cannot prove the GDP: If ground is very sour as we always perceived since last 3 GE,
There is this high possibility.
So was said about the Cheng San election. No one knows.
A distinctive trait of any dictatorship is to cheat, lie and terrorize.

The above is a comment in the TRE about this unexplained or difficult to explain popularity of the PAP at the ballot box. 70% is quite assured for more than 4 decades.Going under 70% is seen as a loss to the PAP. But many on the grounds perceived that the ground is so sour, so many unhappiness. Then when election comes, 70% or more would vote for the PAP, the party that they saw as being inept, inefficient, overpaid and doing all the wrong things and harm to the country and people.

Why is this so? You have no choice but to believe the ballot papers. You have no choice but to believe that the election system is fair and transparent. You cannot claim otherwise. You cannot claim or insinuate that there is cheating, lying or terrorising as mentioned in the above comment unless you can prove it. Of course no one can prove these.

So the truth remains the truth. The facts must be real. 70% or more Singaporeans would like the PAP to rule over them forever come what may. Do not question facts and truths unless you can prove it. Being suspicious, when things just don't seem right is just an opinion, a feeling, cannot be truth till proven otherwise.

RB: "Why is this so?"

One only needs to ask one simple question, and reply to oneself:

How come the Elections Department is put directly under the Prime Minister's Office, who happens to be the Secretary-General of a political party called the People's Action Party, that rules Singapore for over 50 years?

Reply to these 3 questions to the above one question:

Is it just for fun?

Is it for equality, fairness, integrity, transparency and democracy?

Is to give the impression that there is no cheating, lying and terrorising?

If your answer is NO to all the above 3 questions, what does that mean?

Quite Easily Done.

If the three branches of government are controlled and commanded by one single branch, the Executive, then the sky is the limit to the centralised collective power. Anything also can. This also can. That also can. Head I WIN, tail I also WIN.

An Indian by birth (IC and Birth Certificate as proof) can be so easily transformed into a Malay (because of that person happens to embrace Islam) by a special committee, hand-picked specially for this one single task, without any hew and cry, without any protest (which must have police permit that is not easily obtained) and without any opposition parties even so much as making a squeak like a tiny mouse in the church. And then a "walk-over" takes place at the right time, right day, right place. All by magic or miracle?

So, how difficult could it be to transform 70% of votes into PAP votes, by a mere wave of the magical / miracle wand?

Abracadabra, Hey Presto, transform, transform, transform 70% into PAP voters ##$%%^^&*&#?????..... DONE.

Why Sinkies vote for PAP last minute?
Ans: Becos these Sinkies were terrorize by the people (Papies lackeys ) before they cast their vote into the ballot box by having serial number on the vote paper & reading their NRIC and names loud and clear to scare them that if they vote otherwise they be marked or black mark. Most Aunties & uncles plus some first timers got scare by it. This scare technique worked in the past, but with more education tis might reduce let see the next election..

Then when election comes, 70% or more would vote for the PAP, the party that they saw as being inept, inefficient, overpaid and doing all the wrong things and harm to the country and people.
Why is this so?

Why? Simply because the Sinkie opposition is not united and ready to be govt mah.

So majority of the Sinkies who are smart choose PAP as the lesser of 2 evils lah.

What's more, if you are smart, you will have a good life under PAP, despite PAP being what as described above, which I agreed is true.

So obviously smart Sinkies will vote PAP lah.

Hi Anon.

Somemore they have all their RCs members and Evil Serpents as the staff at the polling booths.

Old folks cannot even have their children and guradians guide them to mark which party they choose.

Have the Papies assistants marked for them. Definitely even the old folks wanted to mark CSJ they will marked on their behalf Veloo Swami.

That's so unfair and unethical of them

@ Back To Basics,

Politics doesn't simply emerge from a vacuum. All politics are complex systems which are EMERGENT PROPERTIES from "something". That something is collectively known as CULTURE. It embodies and integrates the society's history, ethnicity, shared beliefs and social mores, laws, local "heros", the ways people go about their day to day, language, slang, food, literature and the way people express themselves.... every aspect of human choice and action which is "guided" by these common factors.

Thus a cuntry's POLITICS emerges from it's CULTURE. Politics is DOWNSTREAM from culture.

As long as the PAP are congruent with Singaporeans and their culture, they will beat out any attempt to oust them as the "Top Dogs", the "Chosen Authority" thus pricing another truism:

"The People Get The Government They DESERVE"...

...which is why I don't vote because I'm not going to accept the blame. You vote, then you're too blame for the shit show you LATER complain about. (Buyers Remorse) πŸ€ͺ

Even if the ballot system is faked or rigged, that too emerges from The Culture. Obviously there's a shared belief in the culture that "the ends justify the means, to hell with morality. Honestly and ethics are SITUATIONAL and FUNGIBLE".

i.e "The Governing Authority has the permission of The People, by mandate, to apply Suka-Suka measures as part of the compact of PRAGMATISM".

I'm indifferent to all of this. As long as Singapore rocks and remains an awesome place to make a buck, keep a buck... I'm a happy camper.

Another prominent aspect of Singapore culture is: YOU DIE, YOU'RE BUSINESS. aka "take personal responsibility or you will regret it"

So if you don't pay attention to your life and ensure you're financially "safe", you're a bloody fool and no one will care about your shitty life choices. (If you don't care about yourself, why are you expecting others to?)

So... yeah. Politics comes from culture. It doesn't change until the culture changes. When someone encourages you to "Vote For Change", my suggestion is to end the conversation and leave....while your can! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ

You've just described aspects of Singapore culture. Congratulations. And thus, the politics and political ideas emerge from what you've just described.

Singaporeans vote PAP, because the PAP really UNDERSTANDS the people. They embody all the fears and hopes of The People, and proceed to socially-engineer the humans, and "Nation Build" the cuntry.

Everything is 100% on track. You might diaagree, but that doesn't make you "right"

Political power comes from the barrel of the gun.

In Singapore, political power comes from whoever has the dominant voice aka carries the knuckle duster.

The political culture in Singapore's case is top down, imposed on the weak and meek, the people that have lost their mind, that they can resist and change.

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

@ all

"Culture" was present and continues to propel society before such bullshit agencies like "The Ministry of Culture" even existed.

The job of ALL ministeries is to SOCIALLY ENGINEER the society according to the "objectives" of the PAP, and let's face it, it has succeeded. Singapore "works" because it has a docile population and a powerful govt. Like I said, if you apply yourself, you can "make a buck and keep a buck", growing your pile of bucks over time to have a very good (better than world-class) life.

Or you can go to Hong Lim and burn a fantastic weekend TCSS, KPKB for absolutely nothing...because come Monday after said "rally @Hong Lim", nothing will change.

The Ministry of Culture influences the schools and grassroots at the HDBs...so you have brainwashed school kids all singing the same song, terrible "road shows" at the various constituencies, FAKE CULTURE CREATED BY GOVT. here there and everywhere.

Even our "national animal mascot" is a Big Fake. Merlion πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬....KNN...WTF lah?? A Fake Animal widly accepted as "The truth". 😜

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

@ RB

>> Political power comes from the barrel of the gun. <<

Yes, but you missed the crucial steps. Who "allowed" the govt to have the gun in the first place? The People of course. What guides the COLLECTIVE thoughts and actions of The People: Their shared culture.

Singapore' progress is measured one funeral at a time.

1st funeral (progress)
- Lee Kuan Yew's death

2nd funeral (progress)
- Lee Hsien Loong

3rd funeral (progress)
- Heng Swee Keat
- significant only if he dies before Lee Hsien Loong

4th funeral (progress)
- Li Hong Yi
- very significant if he dies before Lee Hsien Loong

Singaporeans will never change. They have been trained to be submissive and tame. They fear what they cannot see and always have the opinion that the devil you know is always better than the devil you do not yet know. Next GE, the PAP will again win, maybe with a larger mandate. Let's wait and see.

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

@ 217

>> Next GE, the PAP will again win, maybe with a larger mandate. <<

That is a distinct possibility and it will be AMAZING because it defies all logic.

The PAP has already announced it will be making policy changes like increasing the CPF minimum sum and raising the taxes, especially the GST.

They are hard-charging with their "Nation Building" which I have already said will increase in scope, intensity and speed once the global economy recovers. People are already well-aware that the population is going to GROW and it is going to COST A LOT OF MONEY to accommodate the changes....

....in spite of all the BLATANT forewarnings , they will still, as a majority vote PAP! 🀣

The key is Li Hong Yi.
If he dies, then it will be the end of the Lee Kuan Yew political dynasty.

Anonymous said...

What is so indispensable about Li Hong Yew?

There are other Lee-Li's around.

Even a female Lee-Li also can mah.

Anonymous said...

Why not make Li Ka-Shing the next PM?

He is now a Singapore Citizen.

At 91, he is at least 2 years younger that Dr Mahathir.

With his wealth, he can return back all CPF savings when Singaporeans reach 55 years old.

He can lend some of his money to GIC and Temasek. So GIC and Temasek don't need to depend on CPF's money.

Anonymous said...

Li Hong Yi is meaningless to Singaporeans.

But to PAP, Li Hong Yi is indispensable.
- PAP has planned the next 50 years around Li Hong Yi.
- PAP has no Plan B

Just like Heng Swee Keat
- there is no Plan B
- that's why even with a stroke, Heng Swee Keat must follow plan and be the seat warmer PM for Li Hong Yi

Anonymous said...

Li Ka Shing is too powerful to be a seat warmer Prime Minister for Li Hong Yi.

The 4th Prime Minister has to be weak so that it is easy to replace him with Li Hong Yi.
- Heng Swee Keat is well suited to be the next seat warmer

GDP numbers can be influenced by investments as it is part of the formula.
Money investment can be from local or foreign companies,
also government projects, which employ few locals but do boost the GDP.
To be fair, it is practiced elsewhere in the world. Especially when elections
are nearer.
