UMNO will still be UMNO
I thought after the General Election UMNO will really reinvent itself to be more national than communal. And the PM to be also called for big changes to remain relevant.
Yesterday's election of Khairy as the new UMNO Youth chief confirms that UMNO will still be the same UMNO. Nothing will change UNMO. It will be what it was and will be today and tomorrow.
The kris was wave and kissed again. It was handed to Hishamuddin by non other than Khairy, who looks like having a higher potential to use it. Good luck UMNO. Good luck Malaysia.

Singapore will still be Singapore. PAP will still be the greater mortals.
I hope one day, we can effect changes. Some good news though, seems like the actions of TOC and other blogs have highlighted the authorities to the plights of foreign workers living in slum-like conditions.
Now, they should start thinking of helping Sporeans
Super!! With KJ as the UY supremo, all those Chinese ingrates better watch their backs. if not happy, go and queue up at the US Embassy and beg them to grant you refugee visas.
< Lots of obscene words, references to in-breeding and some epithets directed toward religion >... thought, but not put into words.
You get the picture.
The name UMNO itself stands solely for the Malay community unless it is changed to mean 'United MalaySIAN National Organisation'.
In Malaysia, it is common knowledge that MCA stands solely for the Chinese community and MIC stands solely for the Indian community.
No other country in the world, I believe, is more pronounced in forming racially segregated political parties than in Malaysia, so how can we expect such political parties to reflect a national rather than a communal outlook?

"The suggestion that a minority MP could be biased against others who don’t believe in your own religion, is I think, a very serious one. I do not think the reporter or the journalist writing it realised the implication. A Malay MP could not reach out to the Chinese, I think that is very bad for the PAP. Fortunately, that is not true, so (it’s) better put it right."
above is the quote i copied from TOC.
in our context, once a person becomes an mp, he/she has to represent everyone in the ward. and the people are from all races, religion and income group. if an MP cannot represent all of them, then the MP will be representing only a section of them.
it is a political appointment and a political choice.
Redbean, if what you say is true, then there will be no need for GRCs to ENSURE minority representation. What you state is Utopia, not reality. Let's face it everyone is a racist, the only difference is the degree.
