While the Malaysian govt can only think of building bridges to collect tolls, Singapore only needs to erect ERP gantries to do that. In the former, building bridges will take a long time and a lot of money upfront. In the later, the roads are all there and erection of gantries will cost next to nothing. And the money collection is instant.
See how fast we generate revenue. And gantries can be added anywhere. In a bridge, you can't have more than one collection gate.

That reminds me of someone who said that the Malaysian Government's experiment with Proton is no comparison with the simple COE of the Singapore Government. The Singapore Government just collects money without having to lift a finger or crack its head while the Malaysian Government is still stuck with massive problems after decades of experimenting with Proton.
Ah, greedy eyes in KL are watching no doubt. We may soon see ERP-like gantries in KL too. We live in a globalized world, no?
this is a good thing to learn from us. if they were to engage me as a consultant in KL, wow, millions will be collected everyday.
