Poll on Ministerial Salary(at top right of page)

Parliament has approved the recommendation of ministerial salary by the Review Committee. Technically, the MPs are representatives of the people and when they support the bill, it means the people also support the bill. So technically the MPs have spoken and voted on behalf of the people and voted for the new salary package.

I have just created a poll on this to find out how many people support this salary package and whether the MPs position is reflective of the people's position and aspirations. This will act as a kind of feedback to the MPs to confirm that the people are with them or the people and the MPs are going in different ways.

I am seeing the NOs coming in steadily. For those who say no, it will be good if they could include their reasons in this thread to give a better picture of why the disagreement with the MPs.

And the MPs better take note of why the people are saying no as they are supposed to reflect the will of the people and not their own person views. They must represent the people, not themselves on such matters.

The ordinary sinkies in the streets were not the only ones who said NO.

It should not be pegged to the top 1000 earners. Why not top 10% or top 25% ?

The bigger the number, the more difficult it is to fix. And the smaller the number, the more assurance that the income will be much higher.

Referendum must be held for such a major event since MIWs seem to have more passions to debate this matter. Before referendum, people must be well informed of what they are going to vote and decide. A period of awareness should be allowed for the people to fully understand the issue. This is accountability and transparency. This is what the MIWs fail and are afraid to do. LOL.

Daft Singaporeans should know this and vote wisely in GE2016 since you cannot do anything till then. Once the parliament is no longer controlled by majority MIWs, Singaporeans can then control the country by using opposition and parliament. Daft Singapore can then cut MIWs' pay and recover the public fund stolen for past many years. Have anyone estimated how much this fake democratic dynasty style government has stolen from the public fund through fake support from people?

They dont even lift the Whip, how to expect them to allow referendum?
They know they will never get through a referendum, tat is for sure!

They don' even want any by-election whenever an incumbent MP dies, so dont expect them to hold a referendum.
