2025 is going to be the year that will see China coming out and making all the news that are going to be really eliciting 'shock and awe'.
AI is already clearly trotted out for all to see, and DeepSeek's rollout is just the beginning of the sighting of the tip of many other icebergs. Huawei and Alibaba among others have still not yet opened their cards on the table. There are undoubtedly some strategic moves on hand arising from the meeting between Xi and leaders of technology companies in China. The timing was no accident, right at the start of 2025.
2025 will not just be about flexing the economic and technology muscle of China. China is also no longer playing cat and mouse regarding it military expansion with the rollout of its 6th generation fighter jet and the Fujian aircraft carrier with two nuclear subs on the way.
There is a hue and cry over China's naval exercise in International Waters of the Tasman Sea. This is International Waters, right, and is not infringing on anyone's territorial waters. What the USA and West can do in International Waters close to China, China can do the same as well. All is fair in love and war. What is sauce for the goose is also sauce for the gander. China should do it more often - in Gulf of Mexico, Indian Ocean, Sea of Japan and Philippine Sea and let them have a taste of what it feels like when their warships do naval exercises near to China.
I believe China is confident enough to be more assertive in safeguarding its rights and protecting its turf. It is no longer prepared to play goody two shoes against all the Mickeys thinking they have the great USA behind them.

There is some speculation about MH370 carrying some very strategic Chinese technology personnel on board, which could be a reason for its disappearance. There must be some element of truth in the story, as there can be no smoke without fire.
That brings me to the 'golden tap' story about the NKF chief, T. T. Durai, installing gold plated taps in his office as disclosed by a plumber. There were denials and legal action taken against the poor plumber, scaring him into losing his underwear, for his whistleblowing. But it was later that the truth exposed by the plumber was discovered to be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
The truth finally came out when then NKF chief, T. T. Durai, thinking he was untouchable winning his case against the plumber, tried to do the same to an SPH journalist who did a story on the same golden tap issue. The NKF chief tried to sue her and SPH, but with SPH behind her and having deeper pockets T. T. Durai chickened out on the second day of the trial.
A Civil suit was also taken out by NKF against T. T. Durai later, over mismanagement and NKF suffering losses over the case of suing SPH and the eventual loss of donations as a result of the bad publicity.
Therefore, sometimes, the truth can be hidden with power and money in support. There is no smoke without fire is very true. That is why they say - with power you can invoke justice, with money you can pervert justice.
And that by the way was the saga that led to the rise of the 'Peanut Woman' story.

The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced on Friday that German car brand's vehicles fail to display certain gear options, leading the cars to roll away if the emergency parking break is not engaged.
The recall impacts Volkswagen ID.4 and the Audi Q4 e-tron - both of which are electric vehicles.
According to the report, 60,490 recalls have been issued for 201-2023 Volkswagen ID.4 cars, as well as 2022-2023 Audi Q4 e-tron vehicles.
