Welcome to the Third World

Is this what is happening to Singapore? Or is it just a case of a little bad govt for the testing to remind the Sinkies not to pray pray with what they already got?

For nearly 30 years, the train was running quite near to clockwork precision or as good as you can get. Any disruption was minor and not something to be expected. Over the last few weeks, train faults, delays, slow down etc etc were a daily affair and is now expected. A trouble free ride is something that one can count to be lucky to experience.

What the shit is going on? It looks like the whole system has been allowed to decay and finally everything is breaking down, irreparable. Or all the parts have reached their shelf life and either the whole system be replaced or living with a rackety train system is the new normal?

A crisis like this needs a superman to appear at different places at any time to get things done and get going. Are Sinkies ready to live with slow mass rapid transport? I am seeing many are already readjusting their expectation of what a mass rapid transport system is all about, a bit slow, frequent interruptions and delays, long waiting time, and a crowded platform and train whenever there is a disruption.

The slide down to Third World is moving faster by the day.

No, you don't just exaggerate. You hyper the hyperbole.

So the train breaks down. Boo hoo. People resign. Areas needing attention get highlighted. Just a few data points in nearly 30 years of running without any glitches.

Get real. Keep the proportionality of the situation!

Singapore a one cuntry in which as soon as you step off the plane, you can rest assured EVERY THING WORKS.

As long as that's the situation, ahh just pay the government dudes what they want. As long as they leave you alone to make money, keep money and have a grand old time in Hotel Singapore, why rock the boat?

If people complain they cannot survive in Singapore -- FUCK THEM. They are losers or idiots, or probably BOTH. They need no help. They need to be hit on the side of their heads with a shovel to wake them up, or erase their ass :-))

No I don't. Yesterday I think at least a couple of areas were affected. Taking 40 minutes from Caldecott Hill to Botanic Garden was just too much. And just after they announced everything had been checked, another like got delayed.

This morning, as I stepped out of Raffles Place I heared this announcement, 'Sorry for the inconvenience...another delay somewhere.'

This is not the Singapore that I know.

I have accepted the new normal. I tell my children to carry a survival pack when they use the train.

RB, 40 mins from Caldecott Hill to Botanic Garden ? Might as well take taxi/drive. In either alternative , pappy still gets to squeeze sinkies namely : COE/ERP/Taxi Rate Hikes.

The most irritating noises over the speakers in the trains or MRT stations, 'Sorry for the inconvenience, due to an electrical fault/due to a breakdown, ... this train is now delayed. And this is going over and over the whole day.
