Aiyo, why cut so much?

Now you people got to go and sayang the ministers. Sakit lah.
I hope this cut will not affect the political system of recruiting the best to stand for election. The good guys who still want to serve should still step forward despite the lower salary. And the concern of corruption if pay not enough, may it not happen to prove that the old belief is right.

Someone please tell them their dignity will not be affected adversely at all. In fact their dignity will get a boost, and a bigger boost if the cut is bigger. And the record of the world’s top 30 highest paid politicians will still stay and unlikely to be broken for another donkey years to come.

Think real pay could be 30% or 50%. The balance is to prevent him from becoming corrupt, or corruption pay. Makes sense?

Aiyo, poor ministers, President and PM, pay kena cut so much. Instead of earning million dollar salary, they only getting ....wait .... million dollar salary??
Furthermore still got CPF? So does that mean they are getting the 20% employer contribution? Is the pay shown take home or gross pay?
Only real good thing is the removal of pension scheme. But the retired gang (Raymond. WKS and of course LKY) still getting the full amount?

Hi newhik, nice to have you back.

Nathan is a very blessed man.

Aiyah! PAPies always say to Singaporeans, "Not happy, then leave Singapore lah."

So I'm very sure the PAPies will be men of their words. If not happy, they will leave us.

Nathan will say "Arigato" in his native language

Nathan should pay back to the government at least eighty per cent of his total salary for the two terms of ten years. He was wrongly and grossly overpaid and if he has any sense of moral perspective he should know that he should not be paid so much while a large section of Singaporeans are suffering in silence and in need of financial help.

In the meantime the government must not befooled the people with just a token deduction of the ministers' salary . Any deduction less than seventy to eighty per cent is still highly indecent. In this case the ministers' pay will still be a big issue in the next General Election.

Anon 8.08, I'll drink to that.

Ministers' pay linking to top 1,000 top earners in Singapore is a fraud too. This is a wrong formula. The NSP's suggestion to link it to bottom 20% earners makes more sense. There is no driving force for those in power to try improving the life of the bottom 20%.

Ministers pay review is a BIG wayang. Daft Singaporeans are again fooled.

I hope they use the saving to provide free medical treatment for those above 55 year old citizens just like the Malaysian did without string attached.
