Rand Paul in a senate hearing demanded to see the research papers on Covid virus and the allegation that Wuhan Lab was doing research on gains of function, and the allegation that Wuhan Lab mix match bat virus with other viruses to create the Covid19 virus and spread it in a Wuhan market.
Blinken and other State Secretaries all refused to let the senators to see the original research papers that had already been declassified, and only let them read what Washington made out of the research papers. Rand Paul was furious as the findings of Washington were nothing but a 'spin' on the research papers and not worth anything, mainly lies and fake information.
Why would Blinken and the State Dept be afraid to show the original research papers? Would the research papers be all the proof Washington needed to confirm that the Wuhan Lab was the culprit of the Covid19 Pandemic? Wasn't this what Washington would want the world to know, to condemn China with the truth? Or the truth is that the world were told a very wicked lie by Washington to smear and demonise China?
The exchange between Rand Paul and Blinken and the refusal to let Rand Paul have access to the original research papers are very telling, that Blinken and the State Department are hiding the truth that would expose their wicked lies. By not allowing the original research papers to be known to the public, in this case, not even the Senate, this is as good as an admission that Blinken and the State Department were lying wholesale. There is no reason for not releasing the original research papers to the Senate to reveal the truth unless the truth is harmful to the American agenda and lies against China.
If the research were to confirm the American allegation that Wuhan Lab was responsible for the Covid19 Pandemic, the Americans would lose no time to air everything to the world to condemn China.

Suffice to say, the USA was involved in financing the virus research in Wuhan up to its eyeballs. Which means the USA is equally to blame for the virus leak if there was one but pushing the blame entirely to China.

China is countering all the USA propaganda by opening up more visa free travel for foreign visitors to see for themselves the real China, as against the lies fed to their own people by the USA and other Western Governments and MSM. And it is working very well, looking at more and more videos made by those visitors appearing on Youtube.
The USA Government can afford to spend hundreds of millions to support their anti-China propaganda campaign, that had its tentacles around every MSM around the world, and it will be difficult for China to counter the lies generated using similar avenues. China has therefore found a unique way to counter, without having to pay a bomb and instead benefiting Chinese hotels and businesses from tourism receipts.
The USA Government probably has begun to realise this sufficiently well enough and is thinking of measures to curb such visits by its citizens, judging by the loose talk that they are floating around of their intention to put a stop to their citizens from visiting Xinjiang for a start. This is where USA lies will be proven untrue and will do the most damage to the USA Government's credibility around the world. Banning such visits will not succeed and will backfire. Citizens of USA, UK and EU are not the only visitors going to China. How big is the population of the USA and EU combined? That is why I say banning them is an exercise in futility.
Africans from all over Africa are now visiting China, some studying in China and even Indian and Middle Eastern students from India and Arab States are there, blogging as well. And that is not taking into account that Africa is still underdeveloped and there is still much work to eradicate poverty. Africa has a total population of more than 1.4 billion, hungry to develop, wanting to move forward and eagerly looking to progress like China. Every cloud has a silver lining and Africa is not going to be denied.
China is using another channel to counter the anti=China propaganda generated by the West and is now offering more University Scholarships to students from Africa and others. These students are not the dumb folks that will swallow all the propaganda trotted out by Western leaders and MSM. And they will be future leaders of Government and Industry. Their experience in China will be a big factor in their thinking after they graduated. And China knows the dividends it will be able to reap by cultivating good relations with such students in time to come. Just like foreign students studying in US and Western Universities in the past. De-coupling or de-risking is benefiting China in the long run.
I am nevertheless flabbergasted at reports by the BBC that China is building the equivalent of a new University almost every week. That may be an exaggeration, but it shows the intention of the Chinese Government and its long-term thinking. The Chinese Government investment strategy is long term - 20 to 30 years, never mind the initial outlay.
Chinese students are now avoiding University education in the USA and the West and looking at the much cheaper University education they can get at a quarter of the cost at home. And the programs and courses are more tailored towards the needs of the Chinese Industial push. Moreover, Chinese Universities are rising in global rankings, but I am sure Chinese Universities can never be the best in surveys, if you look at the way they interpreted the global happiness survey conducted by IPSOS, a French Market Research outfit. It was totally skewed.
I am glad that many are catching up with the fiasco of that happiness survey by IPSOS, and it is no exaggeration to say that this probably happens in every survey by Western entities. Suffice to say, Chinese scientist (other than those outside of China) will never ever be able to get close to a Nobel Prise. Chinese Universities, no matter how good, will never top the ranking list. That is the truth.
