Blinky's trip to China achieved nothing. China is not
going to cut off trade with Russia, nor is China cutting industrial
overcapacity. China even warned Blinken that it is either 'co-operation
or confrontation' on the cards. In other words, China is ready to work
its way around the financial sanctions that Yellen had threatened
earlier.
Any financial sanctions against Chinese Banks will
backfire. China's trade with partners will, in the face of such
financial sanctions, be all denominated in Yuan, putting additional
pressure on the US$ and assisting de-dollarization. It is going to make
the Yuan more prominent in China's trade with the Global South and other
countries in BRICS. Russia has shown China that sanctions on its banks
and cutting off its relations with the Western banking system have not
stopped Russia from growing.
Could this escalate into what the
West is doing with Russian assets in Europe and USA? There are
indications that this might happen as the USA is desperate and at a loss
as to how to deal with China. China sold off another US$22.7 billion of
its treasury holdings in February 2024, bringing down its holdings to
US$775 billion.
Countries and Investors are watching closely the
US$300 billion belonging to Russia, that the West has frozen and
threaten to confiscate, and any attempt to officially seize it is going
to have serious consequences for the USA. Even more consequential is
when the USA and the West starts to do the same to China's assets in the
West, which will likely trigger the demise of the US$. No country
outside US allies will ever again want to invest in US treasuries and
assets in the USA and the West. And some of those countries will instead
park their reserves in Chinese banks and institutions.
Prepare for an elephant fight that the rest of the world will suffer in one way or another.

The guise of Blinky under the China visit was to reduce tension. The real motive was to cripple China by trying to coerce China to stop doing business with Russia, which will also cripple Russia among other demands. The Chinese could see that Blinky was trying to kill two birds with one stone. Crippling Russia makes it easier for them in Ukraine now that Ukraine is facing imminent official defeat.
Without cheap energy from Russia, this will cripple China and makes it easier for the USA and the West, knowing for certain that China is to be the next target after a crippled Russia is defeated in Ukraine. Blinken thinks the Chinese do not see the real intention of the USA.
But honestly, to convince China to do what Blinken is hoping to achieve, he ought not to adopt such a confrontational attitude. No one in China will listen after being demonized with accusation that China is committing genocides in Xinjiang. What moral authority does Blinken have to talk about genocide when he is not even owning up in his views on genocides committed by the Israelis in Gaza. The ICC is even said to be considering issuing an arrest warrant against Netanyahu for war crimes committed in Gaza.
I hope the ICC does issue an arrest warrant against Netanyahu. Ironically, such a warrant is of little use, but it does bestow legitimacy on the issue of genocides being committed in Gaza. In other words no longer useful trying to deny anymore. It is an open and shut case.

She was arrested for coming forward to question the police over the arrest of a student. What followed was shocking to say the least. This is going to turn violent soon.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken ended three days of meetings in China on Friday with a stark warning to China’s leadership — stop exporting materials that allow Russia to rebuild its industrial base or face U.S. sanctions.
Chinese state-owned firms are providing key components for Russia’s defense industrial base, including microelectronics and machine tools that have “a material effect against Ukraine” and constitute “a growing threat that Russia poses to countries in Europe,” Blinken told reporters in a press briefing in Beijing on Friday.
Blinken said that, in his meetings with China’s leader Xi Jinping and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, he made clear that the Biden administration is running out of patience with Beijing’s refusal to stop that support.
“We’re looking at the actions that we’re fully prepared to take if we don’t see a change … we’ve already imposed sanctions on more than 100 Chinese entities, export controls and we’re fully prepared to take additional measures,” Blinken said.
Beijing didn’t give an inch. U.S.-China ties risk a “return to a downward spiral” in bilateral ties because “China’s legitimate development rights have been unreasonably suppressed and our core interests are facing challenges,” Wang told Blinken ahead of their meeting Friday.

China must never believe that by stooping to USA demands over trade and other deals with Russia, that is going to end all the nonsense that the USA is raising and will raise against China. The USA will make more demands given an inch, which will probably be extended to demanding that China must also cut off trade relations with Iran and other Middle East oil producers. Then it will be the same modus operandi with South America and Africa. And this will go on and on with other countries.
The USA's sick motive is to pull China down so that it can appear to rise. Blowing off China's candle is not going to make the USA's candle shine brighter. Lack of competition will stifle their innovation, and the USA will fall further behind, not just to China alone, but a rising India, Iran and Indonesia, the three 'I's. Then it will be a race to the bottom among the Anglo-Saxon Whites.
Trade is China's forte, the epitome of China's soft power, and the USA and the West are now unable to compete with China and losing market share, not just in China but all over the world. Trying to ban Chinese products in North America and Western Europe is not going to work and only worsen inflation and more misery for their people. The BRI implementation was all about expanding trade with countries that would otherwise been unable to take advantage of the ease of transportation of their products. China and the rest of the BRI countries are now reaping the rewards of their investments by following the BRI.
China should continue on its current trajectory and keep trading with Russia and Iran, keep expanding its industrial capacity regardless of the sanctions threat, and most importantly upgrading its military capabilities. Those threats will come, no matter what China does, just like the accusation of genocides in Xinjiang that is still being propagated.
The USA is trying to drag China into the Middle East turmoil, trying to tell the world that China has the influence in the Middle East to carry out a peace mission. Why would China want to do that when the USA, UK and the West keep supporting and arming Israel? Is it even logical for the USA and its allies to tell China to step in to call for peace in the Middle East, when they are pouring fuel over fire over there? Any sensible leader would sniff at that suggestion. After all, isn't it true that they are trying to prevent China from expanding its influence around the world? Why contradict themselves and putting themselves in knots for others to criticize?
On the other hand, only the USA can bring peace to the Middle East by not supporting Israel. That will immediately end the war and the genocides now ongoing. But instead of doing that, the USA and UK are sabotaging any peace moves and buying time for Israel to complete its genocidal mission of making the Palestinians extinct in order for Israel to expand its territory.
The whole world, including University students in the USA, can see clearly that Israel is committing nothing but genocide in Gaza. It is only the USA, UK and the West that are intentionally turning a blind eye to the true picture and denying all the reality. Instead, Blinky is revisiting Xinjiang to take away the pressure on Israel and focusing attention On Xinjiang instead. It is an exercise in futility as the reality does not fit the propaganda.
