China killed two birds with one stone - saving
connectivity costs and avoiding chokepoints in times of war. China knows
blockades will happen. What the USA is doing in East Asia is a clear
reminder to China to find alternatives to the choke points set up by the
Axis of Evil. They are even setting up obstacles for global trade.
Building
an alternative to the Panama Canal, finding an alternative to the Suez
Canal and looking for an alternative to the Straits of Malacca are
essential priorities for China to tackle in advance. As Political
Analyst, Dr. David Oualaalou used to say, nothing happens in a vacuum.
There are those who built obstacles and there are those who used their
heads to overcome obstacles.

China engaging in war mongering will end up being hated like the USA in the eyes of the rest of the peace-loving world, the Global South. Wars have been forced upon them in the past and they are sick and tired of all the destruction like in Vietnam, Afghanistan and now in Ukraine and Gaza. Destruction favors the USA as rebuilding needs the financing of the IMF and World Bank, all controlled by the USA and the West.
That was how the USA rose to prominence after WW2. The USA suffered little damage, save for Hawaii and was therefore spared all the rebuilding and had the means to provide aid to those the war destroyed.
Moreover, with the US$ hegemony, the USA can afford to fund all the wars around the world, which China is not privy to. China has learned its lesson from the collapse of the Soviet Union. Then, the Soviet Union was competing with the USA in military spending which bankrupted the country. The USA had all the advantage of free money printing which the Soviet Union does not have. Bankruptcy was the result and breaking up was the consequence.
China understood the consequence and instead went on the de-dollarization offensive together with Russia, rather than taking the bait for a military solution, which might destroy China.
De-dollarization is as effective as a military solution without all the destruction or even the extinction of humans. Without de-dollarization, a military solution is only temporary, as the USA still retains the privilege of free money printing to support its war mongering ideal.
