TikTok Chew Shou Zi versus American gangsters in Congress

Commentary: How well did TikTok CEO Chew Shou Zi hold out against US Congress grilling?

Chew Shou Zi’s performance at a hostile congressional hearing was a missed opportunity for TikTok, says NTU’s Mark Cenite.   CNA headlines.

The above are the headlines in CNA of a critique on the performance of Chew Shou Zi in the American Congress by an armchair academic. It is so easy to make condescending comments from a distance, and not in the hot seat. The world has come to know what happened in this theatre concocted by, and with script written by the mafia of American lawmakers. The world was given a front row seat to witness the fake democracy of America where a bunch of technically ignorant and incompetent lawmakers pretending to know what they did not know and lashing out at the CEO of TikTok in a set up to literally grill him alive.

What happened in Congress on that day, for 5 hours, came out as nothing but a farce. 52 old hacks, some could be the grandpa or grandma by age to the young TikTok CEO, went about mercilessly to demolish him based on a plate of lies, disinformation, presumptions and bullying, hiding behind strength in numbers. They asked many silly questions and made many silly comments all with one purpose, TikTok was guilty of spying, if not today, would be sometime in the future, and because its parent company is from China, it must take orders from China under Chinese laws. They conveniently forgot that the USA is the biggest spy in the world and spying even on their own people and leaders of their allies, and caught red handed. It is not that TikTok had done it, they had no proof that TikTok had committed an unlawful act. It was all based on a presumption that TikTok would do it in the future. This is as good as guilty before a crime is committed, a presumption of guilt.

And Chew was not given a chance to make a decent reply or explanation. They shut him up, cut him off, did not let him speak. They only wanted to prove how clever they were in their allegations and silly questions. This is making a mockery of American democracy. It is American democrazy. It is gangsterism, with the privilege of being lawmakers, with the power behind them, abusing their power as lawmakers, to fix up their victim without giving the victim the right to defend himself. And the almost senile men and women thought they were very clever.

And armchair critics could think that Chew stood a chance, could make a case for TikTok. And he failed and it was his fault. Bull. No one stand a chance in a house of hooligans and mafias. It was modern day Inquisition. The gangsters and mafias had already decided that TikTok was guilty and inviting TikTok's CEO to Congress was to give the impression that they were fair, with the fake presumption that he was given a chance to make his case. It was all a charade.

This is the most shameful face of American hooliganism on display to the whole world. TikTok was guilty without committing any crime. The gangsters and mafias in Congress said so. They were hellbent to get rid of TikTok at all costs. Chew did not stand a chance to defend TikTok. He was set up to be the punching bag, to make silly old men and old women looked clever. There was no contest. It was not a contest, and never a missed opportunity. It was wishful thinking that the gangsters and mafias would give Chew a fair hearing, give TikTok a chance to make its case. You cannot reason with the unreasonable.

Would TikTok survive in the USA? This would now depend on the 150m American users. Would they march on the streets to save TikTok from being unfairly crucified by the gangsters and mafias in Congress? Would they let the gangsters and mafias rob TikTok from them, forbidding them the freedom to use an innocent software that is useful to them socially and in their businesses?

American freedom of choice, freedom of expression and democracy are on trial, being compromised by the gangsters and mafias that called themselves lawmakers. These gangsters and mafias in Congress are such a contemptuous lot, disgusting. This is a showcase of fake American democracy. It is American gangsterism, a kangaroo court.

PS. On a one to one basis, the old hacks in Congress would look like infantiles against the technically superior TikTok CEO Chew.

Apology just to add must see so many Tik Tok postings of many even Matsland Mat Chiks making fun of those damn Sitting Ducks oops Senators by condemning their very actions of trying to vilify Tik Tok as this is one of their Favourite Apps.

Cheers

You have left out the lobby money or bribes. These people's elected representatives are all waiting to be paid by big corporations to defend the interests of these corporations. Alot of money have been paid to them by corporations that are losing out to TikTok.

Names mentioned in many reports and TikTok clips were Meta/Facebook, Instagram, Twitter etc etc. TikTok has eaten a big chunk into their advertising revenue. They need to ban TikTok to regain their revenue. This is American daylight robbery.

What free trade, what free competition? They can't win, they will destroy their competitors. This is American gangsterism.

They did that to Toshiba of Japan. They did that to Alstom of France. They did that to Huawei. Now they are doing it to TikTok.

Why? Because they could not compete with all these companies. TikTok, with 150 million followers in the USA, is competing well with the likes of Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. Meta is falling apart. Twitter under Elon Musk is facing trouble with his revelations about Biden and his son, and for putting Trump back into twittering mode again before 2024.

Likewise, in the chip manufacturing business, USA manufacturers are not in the forefront of high end chip innovation and manufacturing. TSMC and Samsung have overshadowed them. So, what to do? Lure them to the USA, steal their technology, kill them from competing by putting a leash over them for good.

TSMC's Morris Chang is already deeply regreting his move to Arisona and building a plant there. His fellow Taiwanese workers, seconded to the USA, are facing problems with the work attitudes of non-Taiwanese workers, who are not used to the same working environment as in Taiwan. Taiwanese are used to working long hours, but not the Whites and other non-Taiwanese, thus creating friction between them. Despite being paid double what they get in Taiwan to lure them over, some Taiwanese workers are regreting their move to Arizona. Too late to regret.

Moreover, TSMC now realises that the subsidies given by the USA Government favours the USA chip makers like Intel, Micron, Nvidia etc more than TSMC and Samsung. TSMC should have heeded the warning given by Trump earlier of his 'America First' policy and now equally applied by Biden as well. Remember, the whole USA administration, whether Republicans or Democrats are basically the right and left hand of the Deep State. Both Parties cannot vary their policies too far apart. Moreover, it is USA big oil, big pharma, big tech that provided big funding for the campaigns of USA Presidents, and they invariably control the one sitting in the White House.

*You do not actually own anything If you cannot protect what you have.*

These words of wisdom were crafted to warn about robbery, theft, sabotage, extortion, etc, hence laws and law enforcement become imperative for any civilised society to deter and protect.
Apply the quote to a global scenario and one can see weak countries being prime targets of US-EU criminal enterprise, the US being the biggest crime boss, biggest terrorist on the planet.
These questions come to mind, "can UltraSatanicAmerica access your assets and claim ownership?" "Who can actually deter this terrorist-pimp?"
"Has little red dot been in bed far too long with this pimp?"
"What will this pimp out of shere desperation resort to?"

Had Taiwan been with China, TSMC would not suffer the indignity of being decimated by the USA wholesale. The USA had a hold on Taiwan by the balls, and TSMC could not escape the squeezing.

What dominates in the world today, technologically owned by Taiwanese, Japanese or South Koreans will all be in the hands of the USA sooner or later. The USA needs to leverage on the expertise of these enterprises to compete successfully with China.

But the advantage is not all one sided. China and the BRICS countries holds the key to raw materials for chip making like rare earth and Neon, essential minerals and established setups in refining them, and above all a headstart in many areas like EV and battery production, solar panels and AI. The West will have to build those production lines which requires massive inventments and long startup time. By which time the changes coming up could make obsolence a factor to consider.

The sore loser Americans would not compete but cut down their competitors. This has always been their criminal ways.

They cut down the native Americans to near extinction. They cut down the Mexicans and seized their lands that is the size of half the present USA. They cut down the Hawaiians to take over their islands, they cut down the Pinoys to make the Philippines their colony. They cut down the Japanese. They tried to cut down the North Koreans but got kicked real hard in their asses. They too tried that on the Vietnamese but got chased out as well. And the same happened in Afghanistan.

Now they cut down the Iraqis, and still trying to cut down the Syrians and the Russians in the Ukraine War. It is only a matter of time before they themselves got cut down in the latest ongoing wars. The young Americans did not see any reason to die in these foreign theatres of wars. Only the psychopaths would join the wars to massacre the innocents.

Stop making a fool of yourself, America. The whole world is watching.

Are the Americans proud of this circus with the congressmen and women performing like clowns?

Hardcore warmongers in the USA are pushing forward the threat of invading Mexico on the pretext of fighting the drug menace. Mexico's President is pissed off over the threat, telling the USA that Mexico is not a protectorate or colony of the USA.

This comes clearly in retaliation for Mexico intending to join BRICS. Does this surprise anyone? The West also tried to put pressure on Honduras pivoting towards China and dumping Taiwan. But that was all in vain.

Many on the internet are praising the leaders of Mexico and Honduras for having the backbone to say what is their right to choose, unlike the Germans and French poodles who have no marbles to tell the USA to piss off.

The mischievous American warmongers now called TikTok a Trojan Horse.

The real Trojan horses are the NGOs and all their social media platforms.

Saudi Arabia has banned all western mobile phones in the country after learning the Americans were spying on them. Only Chinese mobile phones allowed, including Huawei 5G.

Numerous Political Groups in Taiwan Protest Against DPP Tsai's Betrayal US Visit

More than 30 political groups on the island of Taiwan on Tuesday staged strong protest against the "betrayed visit" of Taiwan regional leader Tsai Ing-wen to the US and the collusion between the US politicians and the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) to harm the island. "Taiwan independence" is a dead end. Peaceful reunification is the best way out for resolving the Taiwan question, some protesters said.

Reportedly, Tsai will travel from March 29 to April 7, stopping in New York before heading to two Central American countries of Guatemala and Belize and transiting through Los Angeles on the return leg. Her trip will include a meeting with US House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, according to media reports.

Tsai's trip is expected to fully cooperate with the so-called "destruction of Taiwan" plan devised by the US to weaken the Chinese mainland, including planting landmines along the coast of Taiwan island, the extension of the service period of male soldiers in Taiwan, and the controversial All-out Defense Mobilization Readiness Act.

Tsai clearly knows the path of "Taiwan independence" is a suicidal act, yet she deceives the people to follow it and she is also crystal clear about US being world's biggest warmonger, sabotaging world peace and the common enemy of the people of the world, but she is pushing the people of the island into a pit of fire. It explains why the staged protest is against Tsai's collusion with the US.

Tsai even conferred the Order of Brilliant Star to former White House national security advisor Robert O'Brien, who made a barrage of jaw-dropping statements about Taiwan, such as proposing destroying the island's semiconductor industry. This exposes the ugly face of the DPP authority colluding with the US and Japanese imperialists and "Taiwan independence" separatist forces.

The collusion shows that the US politicians' rhetoric on "defending Taiwan" is just a facade, because its authentic attempt is to turn the island into a battlefield and treat the people on the island as a tool of war. More and more people in Taiwan have seen through the illusion created by DPP authority.

"We are all angry today! We must stand up and protest Tsai's betrayal of Taiwan, and say no to Tsai, the 'Taiwan independence' forces and the US. Only when the people stand up for themselves can Taiwan have hope. 'Taiwan independence' is a dead end. Peaceful reunification is the best way out for Taiwan," Wang Chuan-ping, vice chairman of the Labor Party.

Tsai and the DPP are not just traitors but wanting to kill the Chinese in the island. They did not care about the lives of the Chinese in Taiwan. They are fully aware that all of them would die should war breaks out. This treachery is so clear.

The silly Taiwanese are talking about protest? What the shit are they thinking? They have been sold out, their lives are at stake and they just want to protest? It is time to remove the traitors that are planning to kill them for their private agenda.

The DPP leaders have their plans to flee Taiwan the moment they sense danger. They know that they would be executed by firing squad if arrested. The numerous trips supposedly stopovers in the US were to negotiate and prepare for their exiles in the USA.

China would not allow Taiwan to be used as a launching pad to attack China. The latest aggressive moves by the Americans are pushing China to the edge. Anymore such moves would trigger China to take over Taiwan by force. This is according to the plans of the Americans and the DPP traitors. They are provoking China to act using the lives of Taiwan Chinese as baits. They would let the Taiwanese Chinese to die to serve the American and Japanese interests, knowing very well that when China uses force they too would not be able to stay in Taiwan.

Their plans are so evil, knowing it would not lead to Taiwan's independence but to Taiwan's destruction and the tens of thousands or more Taiwan Chinese to be killed in the process, just like Ukraine.

They don't care. They know it is a lose lose proposition but would go ahead with it and then flee to the USA. They are sickos, psychopaths.

USA uses Google to spy on world even as it says China may spy with TikTok

During a five-hour grilling of the chief executive of TikTok last week, United States lawmakers railed against the possibility of China using the wildly popular, partly Chinese-owned app to spy on Americans.

They did not mention how the US government itself uses US tech companies that effectively control the global internet to spy on everyone else.

As the US considers banning the short video app used by more than 150 million Americans, lawmakers are also weighing the renewal of powers that force firms like Google, Meta and Apple to facilitate untrammelled spying on non-US citizens located overseas.

Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA), which the US Congress must vote to reauthorise by December to prevent it from lapsing under a sunset clause, allows US intelligence agencies to carry out warrantless spying on foreigners’ email, phone and other online communications.

While US citizens have some protections against warrantless searches under the Fourth Amendment of the US Constitution, the US government has maintained that these rights do not extend to foreigners overseas, giving agencies such as the National Security Agency (NSA), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) practically free rein to snoop on their communications.

Information may also be turned over to US allies like the United Kingdom and Australia.

Though it is common for governments to spy abroad, Washington enjoys an advantage not shared by other countries: jurisdiction over the handful of companies that effectively run the modern internet, including Google, Meta, Amazon and Microsoft.

For billions of internet users outside the US, the lack of privacy mirrors the alleged threat that US officials say TikTok, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, poses to Americans.

“It is a case of ‘rules for thee but not for me,'” says Asher Wolf, a tech researcher and privacy advocate based in Melbourne, Australia. “So the noise the Americans are making about TikTok must be seen less as a sincere desire to protect citizens from surveillance and influence operations, and more as an attempt to ring-fence and consolidate national control over social media.”
