Covid-19 Singapore: Multi-Ministry Task Force Just Woke Up?

Finance Minister Lawrence Wong, who is also one of the Co-Chairs of the Multi-Ministry Task Force, said that the Government is very concerned about the hidden COVID-19 cases in the community in Singapore in a video clip in his Facebook page on Thursday.

Many people have been telling the Government for the past few months about the highly infectious and contagious new variant of COVID-19 known as Type Delta, B1617.2, discovered in India in October 2020. From what Minister Wong has said, it seems that it's only the last few days that the Multi-Ministry Task Force has just woken up to the horror of what this new Type Delta, B1617.2 can do!

Minister Wong said that the recent outbreak in the Home for Intellectually Disabled Adults was a “stark reminder” of such hidden cases.

This is the gist of his message:

“We are dealing with a very infectious and highly contagious strain of the virus, which is capable of spreading much faster than anything we’ve had to deal with before and causing large clusters to break out easily.”

“We have been monitoring the situation carefully and considering what are some of the next steps we might take.”

“Stay home as much as possible work from home, whenever you can, and minimize your daily contact. Should you feel unwell, see a doctor and get yourself tested right away. These are very critical measures!"

"The Government will “continue to ramp up testing and speed up our vaccination program. So when your turn comes, do book a vaccination slot and get yourself vaccinated as soon as possible!"

The outbreak he has referred to was at the MINDSville @ Napiri Adult Disability Home in Hougang. The cluster has 27 infected people so far - 23 residents and 4 employees, one of whom is probably the carrier and spreader of the virus.

Although they have been tested positive for Covid-19, the residents are still allowed to leave the Home for medical appointments and the infected employees living in the Home had been allowed to leave for "essential" purposes.

Of the 225 residents and staff, 91 per cent were vaccinated in February and March, yet some of them still get infected. This shows that the efficacy of the Pfizer vaccines is questionable.

23 out of the 27 infected cases have been found to be asymptomatic and, therefore, these 23 could have already spread their viruses to many others outside the Home, especially when they go for medical appointments or go out for "essential" purposes!

This is a very good example of lessons not learnt.

1. They still never want to carry out 100% quarantine.

2. They still allow the highly infectious and contagious viruses an escape route to spread.

3. They still never want to plug the loop-holes.

4. Worst of all, they still keep importing infected India nationals and travellers into Singapore and refused to stop the flow of these groups of highly infectious and contagious super-breeders and super-spreaders of the B1617.2 coronavirus!

Where is the EFFICIENCY that Singapore has been well-known for?

Please don't just be concerned. Do what is necessary now. Why take so long to consider and consider? Just stop the inflow of infected persons and potentially risky people from coming into our congested tiny island.

Stop the monitoring carefully and wait and see approach, for goodness sake. Please take proactive and decisive actions now!

All those who are discrimated by the unfair and racist policy must sign the Petition. The more the merrier.

I have signed. All should sign. Even those who have already been vaccinated by the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines. Even those who do not feel discriminated, please throw in your support. Unity is strength.

There is totally NO BASIS for the MTF and the Singapore Government to discriminate against those who prefer to take the COVID-19 Vaccines made in China. After all, most of the Singaporeans are Chinese. Even most of those in the Governing Body are Chinese.

WHO IS IN CONTROL OF SINGAPORE, REALLY?
The Chinese Singaporeans or the Indian Singaporeans or A Sinister Evil Foreign Power?

If Singapore is being controlled by a sinister foreign power, either directly or indirectly, the Singapore's sovereignty and independence is nothing but a Fairy Tale told to us over the last 55 years!

Just forgo the COVID Vaccination if the Sinovac Vaccines are discriminated.

 Would you: ‍♂️

(1) Drive a car whose manufacturer has not submitted full details of the safety of its airbags?

(2) Use an electrical appliance that has yet to achieve its electrical safety certification? ⚡

(3) Wear a condom whose maker has not revealed the full details of the clinical study behind its supposed effectiveness percentage?

If your answer is NO, then you should also understand why the Singapore government has yet to deploy Sinovac under our national vaccination programme.

Let's be clear. Singapore is not against any country, and we will use any vaccine as long as it is proven to be safe and effective. All vaccines, regardless of their country of origin, are subject to the same standards and degree of scrutiny.

Big fan of Sinovac and want Sinovac to be deployed?

Well, how about you lobby Sinovac to submit its outstanding data for HSA to complete its evaluation instead, for inclusion into Singapore's national vaccination programme? After all, nothing to fear if there's nothing to hide. Them doing so would give you, the consumer, the ease of mind too. ️✌️

That is making a mountain out of a mole hill. It is just an excuse thought out by the unprofessional and incompetent Scientists who called themselves experts, but actually they are not experts because experts do not advise the public "not to wear masks if they are not sick".

And also the real experts at the UN and WHO have already tested the Chinese Vaccines and approved them. Therefore, it is untenable to continue to hold onto the position that there is not enough data.

Tell us exactly what additional data that your incompetent mind needs. Reveal them for all to know. Don't just talk in riddles.

KNN, Wake up your Fxxking idea!

Goh Keng Swee would ask, has it been used before, how many people have used it? Is it proven, or something new?

Chinese vaccines used traditional method, method used for centuries, and now more than 700 million people have used it with minimal side effects.

mRNA is a new technology, not used before, plenty of side effects including death but refused to link to the vaccines.

Goh Keng Swee would simply said, used the tried method. The new method, let others be the guinea pigs. We are a small country with limited funds and cannot any how throw money at untested things.

Only stupidity has no cure type will let the Americans tell them what to do and what cannot do.

Our few scientists the best in the world, better than those in China and other countries? These scientists, are the best of 5.6m people!

You want to buy 200,000 doses and want China to spend time answering your queries when they are selling billions of doses all over the world and don't even have time to read your mail. You think you are so important?

China would simply throw your letter into the waste basket. Go and get your mRNA vaccines. There is a very long queue for Chinese vaccines. No time to entertain your nonsense. 10 or 30 years down the road then you will know how stupid you are.

It noted that healthcare regulators in many developed jurisdictions, including Singapore, typically conduct further rigorous evaluations beyond the WHO Emergency Use List approval before approving a vaccine for general use.

"We wish to reiterate that HSA evaluates all applications, regardless of their country of origin, based on the same standards and requirements," it said, adding HSA is still awaiting outstanding data on Sinovac-CoronaVac from Sinovac for it to complete its evaluation.

COVID-19 China Vaccines - Singapore's Face-Saving Alternative Decision

After receiving many hues and cries, the Singapore government has finally decided to "reimburse individuals who were previously rejected or are allergic to the Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna mRNA vaccines if they opt for the Sinovac Covid-19 vaccine at private clinics".

Extract of MOH's press release of Friday (Jun 4):

"There are about 34,000 people who are eligible for the reimbursement. More details will be forwarded to the individuals in the coming week.

As MOH has Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine in stock, MOH will be inviting private healthcare institutions licensed under the Private Hospitals and Medical Clinics Act (PHMCA) to apply to be licensed providers for the Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine under the Special Access Route (SAR).

Under the SAR, Covid-19 vaccines approved by WHO for its Emergency Use List (EUL) can be imported and supplied by private healthcare providers as unregistered vaccines for administering to individuals in Singapore.

The Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine made it WHO’s EUL on Jun 1. To date, the EUL comprised of the following Covid-19 vaccines: Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, Astra-Zeneca, Johnson&Johnson, Sinopharm and Sinovac-CoronaVac. In addition, WHO is currently evaluating more than ten other vaccines.

The private clinics will be allowed to draw on Singapore’s existing stock of 200,000 doses of the Sinovac-CoronaVac vaccine.

We will select around 20 private clinics around the island who can demonstrate the ability to administer the vaccines safely, properly and efficiently.

The clinics can provide the vaccine to all Singapore Citizens, Permanent Residents and persons holding Long-Term Visit Passes, who, for one reason or other, wish to receive Sinovac-CoronaVac instead of a vaccine which is available on the national programme.

If they decide to receive the Sinova-CoronaVac vaccine, the government will then reimburse the individuals the fee imposed by the private clinics covering their costs.

This is ultimately a private arrangement, though facilitated by the government. MOH will draw up guidelines on proper counselling, informed consent and safe management of patients.

However, as the vaccine remains unregistered, it will not be covered by the Vaccine Injury Financial Assistance Programme (VIFAP), a financial assistance scheme for individuals who suffer from serious side effects after receiving a Covid-19 vaccine.""

Comments:

1. This looks like a half-baked and half-hearted decision in order to save some red faces.

2. Why only 34,000 people are eligible for reimbursement? Why not all who wish to take the Chinese Vaccines? This is surely a discrimation without good justification.

3. Why doesn't the Government allow the Chinese Vaccines to be registered and bring them to the same status as the Western motivated vaccines such as Pfizer and Moderna, which are not proven to be more superior than the Chinese vaccines. More expensive and more difficult to maintain, yes. More superior, very doubtful.

4. Why should the Chinese vaccines be left out of the VIFAP Scheme just because they have been deliberately not allowed to be registered? Why is the government trying to save some public funds in this way? Or is it because the Decision Makers still harbour a grudge against Singaporeans who do not trust the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines?

Why continue to maintain some forms of discrimination, even though reimbursement is allowed for 34,000 souls?

Immature and unpatriotic decisions are only made by ignorant kids, not thinking adults and national leaders.

RB,

Washington Post and Reuters are part of the US $300 million per year Sinister China Demonising Propaganda Project.

I guess the two posts above are posted by Matlilah or his side-kick at the Australian-CIA Spying Agency, in order to smear China again.

Do not let your blog to be part of the Evil US's Anti-China Propaganda Machine.

Your argument is called fallacy by extension or extrapolation.

I can also use your method of argument like this, watch:

Your mother was fxxked by your father.

You father is a man.

Therefore, all men can fxxk your mother.

Can you now see the fallacy of your method of argument?

RB,

SCMP has been infiltrated by Western agents who are deliberately Anti-China, working in accordance with their Handlers' directions and instructions. These agents have been on the payroll of CIA, MI6 and the Canadian Intelligence for a very long time,

In addition, Jack Ma now owns SCMP entirely. Running into a lot of problems with the Chinese Central Government, it is very likely that he now makes use of SCMP to smear the Chinese Government.

The author of this article is Josephine Ma. It sure rings a loud and clear bell.

Therefore, we as onlookers, had better read SCMP news or articles with a handful of salt.

This is must be the handicraft of the sneaky Matlilah, agent of the Australian-CIA Intelligence Organisation.

SCMP would go the way of Apple Daily, together with its owners.

SINGAPORE – There are some 2,000 individuals who have experienced severe adverse reactions after the first dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna vaccine and they should not receive an mRNA vaccine again, said the Ministry of Health (MOH).

In a Facebook post on Saturday (5 June), the MOH said it is evaluating other suitable non-mRNA vaccines. "We expect to make such vaccines available before the end of this year for use in our national vaccination programme, after the vaccines have been rigorously assessed and approved by the HSA (Health Sciences Authority)," the ministry said.

In a press release on Friday, the MOH said that these 2,000 individuals are those who had developed "anaphylaxis or allergic reactions (hives, face/ eyelid/ lip/ throat swelling, generalised rash within 7 days after vaccination)".

Any vaccine not from China would be suitable. It would not offend where the coercion is coming from. India, India very good choice!
