Another complaint letter on unreliable public transport
Raymond Koh Joo Guan wrote a letter in My Paper complaining about all the shortcomings of our public transport system, from trains to bus and taxis. The solution is so simple. You want better service, pay more.
'Mm Chai Si', any how complain. Try reading these in Hokien.

The main problem is because the system is essentially PUBLIC. Allow free competition and encourage the spirit of free enterprise by allowing private vehicle owners to rent out their services if they choose to serve the market and make some money. (The profit motive)
The less PUBLIC and the more PRIVATE the economy, the more wealth, freedom and choice for everyone.
come matilah, we have the best govt that ensures everything works. but yes, our govt also encourages privatisation, like the hospitals and HDB and what else.
We want good Government, we have to pay more. We want a good transport system, we have to pay more.
We want the best in everything we have to pay more, except salaries. That would have to be cheaper, better and faster (I can't understand the last two conditions anyway). That is the undeniable truth.
