Breaking news - Wagner's army mutineed and moving towards Moscow

This is a very serious development and would change the war in Ukraine and may spark a war against Russia by Nato. The Ukraine forces could launch a takeover of all territories seized by Russia if the Wagner forces withdraw and refuse to fight them. A genocide of pro Russian Ukrainians in east Ukraine is on the card.

If Nato moves against Russia to support Wagner, the possibility of a nuclear war in Europe could not be ruled out. Putin is in big trouble and Russia could break up.

Could this be another Russian ploy to draw in the Ukraine and Nato troops to charge into a mouse trap?

Latest: Prigozhin 'Exiled' To Belarus In Exchange For Peace, Criminal Charges Dropped: What Was This All About?

'This entirely bizarre slightly less than 24-hour short-lived coup attempt has just gotten even stranger, given the terms of the truce which evidently caused Evgeny Prigozhin to announce his Wagner fighter columns would turn around and go back to their bases.

The Wall Street Journal has confirmed based on Kremlin statements that "As part of the agreement, Prigozhin will leave Russia for Belarus, and criminal charges against him will be dropped, Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. His fighters will be allowed to sign contracts with the Russian military.'

"The attempted armed mutiny in our country has aroused strong disapproval in Russian society, which firmly supports President Vladimir Putin," the Foreign Ministry said.

Maybe Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov has it right: old fashioned greed and glory: "I thought that some people can be trusted. That they sincerely love their Motherland as real patriots to the marrow of their bones. But it turned out that for the sake of personal ambitions, profit and because of arrogance, people can not give a damn about affection and love for the Fatherland."

Putin reminded Russians that a similar scenario played out in the country in 1917, when it was in the middle of World War I. He recounted how “intrigues, bickering, politicking behind the army’s and the people’s back” led to the “collapse of the state,” and the “tragedy of the Civil War.”

“Russians were killing Russians, brothers were killing brothers, while various political adventurers and foreign powers were capitalizing on it,” the president said.

Putin vowed to prevent this from happening as well as to defend Russia and its people, “including from internal mutiny.”

In his address, Putin clearly labelled the PMC coup attempt as a “betrayal.” He cited “enormous ambitions and personal interests” of certain individuals as the reasons behind this “betrayal of their country and its people.” He went on to accuse those responsible, without naming Prigozhin in particular, of turning their back on the joint military cause in Ukraine and the memory of the fallen fighters.

If successful, the coup would lead to “anarchy and fratricide,” resulting, in the long run, in Russia’s “defeat” and “capitulation,” according to Putin.

The president characterized “any internal mutiny” as a death threat to the Russian state and nation. The president pledged to take “tough measures” against the mutineers, who have “willingly entered the path of betrayal” and prepared “armed insurrection.”

Those responsible will be brought to account before the Russian people, the president assured the public.

Whew, hope the mutiny is over. Or else Russia would be in real trouble. Maybe half will be taken over by Nato. And Ukraine would be in Nato and Russian speaking Ukrainians would be massacred.

Hi All

My take is that Putin and that Wagner Chief put on a Charade to fool the UAss and the Euro Nuts.

Putin's main agenda is to put that Wagner Commander to Belarus so that they can operate from there if required.

Another flank to bring down Urukiane Surrender.

Cheers

Putin and Prigozhin staged this drama to ferret out the traitors in Russia.

Have a fake coup and see who gets a hard on, who switches sides, and who starts making phone calls to US/UK.

Sun Tzu's art of war is essentially about deception.
I am inclined to believe Putin and the Wagner boss are playing games with the Ukraine neo nazis and their backers. It is highly possible there are traitorous officers in the Wagner group who have no qualms switching to a more generous paymaster. This can be viewed by the neo nazis and their US-NATO backers as a heaven-sent opportunity to put more pressure on Putin by committing more troops to push forward. It is the only way to find out.

This attempted coup will trigger the following:

Russia already decided that it will no longer give contracts to those who took part in the mutiny. Wagner is a mercenary group that are paid to carry out military operations. This attempted mutiny will make sure that future recruited Wagner fighters are carefully monitored by the Russia military. According to write ups, recruits into the group comprises convicted criminals from prison camps, rapist and even neo-Nazis, which Putin is dead set against.

The fact that the Chechen leader stood with Putin and was ready to help Putin put down the mutiny, probably put a damper on the Wagner Group's intention to go further. Chechen fighters are the most feared among the Russian military. When the Wagner Group was marching towards Moscow, three thousand Chechen fighters were already stationed around Moscow, ready to face the Wagner mutineers. We all know the Wagner Group had been crying out for more weapons earlier, so their assault on Moscow is not without logistical problems. They probably figured out the odds and backed down.

The Wagner Group's new base is now said to be in Belarus, which we are sure will be closely monitored. If Yevgeny Prigozhin, the leader of the Wagner Group, has indeed been bought over by the USA/Nato side to carry out the mutiny, he is a persona non grata forever as far as Russia is concern. And NATO and the Ukrainians certainly will have no love lost for him and his group either, after the failed mutiny, knowing the number of Ukrainians that were killed by his group over the last year and a half would have to be considered. That could not simply be forgiven and forgotten, like what Japan did during WW2. The Japs are aware of that.

In fact, cracks already appeared in their relations with Moscow months ago, with Prigozhin complaining about ammunition shortages and getting annoyed with the Russians. That probably resulted in someone making hay while the sun shines, capitalising on the differences. This escalated recently with accusations that Russian troops were in fact attacking them, which led to the mutiny. Putin probably realises that with all the cracks appearing, control of the Wagner fighters is going to present a problem for the Russian military and he would rather not depend on them after Ukraine is over.

Kiev is only 100km from the border of Belarus, where Prigozhin has moved to.

There might be a way to redeem himself

Prigozhin is a very good friend of Putin. Was this mutiny event a deception to move him to Belarus? Just to note, not a single shot was fired. Was it a ruse?

Attack Ukraine from Belarus, or attacking Nato forces entering the Ukraine War would deal a crippling blow to the Nato/Ukraine forces.

Some believe this was a staged mutiny by the Wagner Group, to have a reason to move north to Belaurus, in a nearer position to Kyiv. The way the mutiny was staged, the ease with which the Wagner Group withdrew after all the effort, the pardon that Putin was prepared to give Prigozhin, all painting a suspiciously orchestrated ruse. In any case, the withdrawal of the Wagner Group from Eastern Ukraine will pose no trouble for Russia, as Chechen fighters have already taken over the control of the areas under the former Wagner fighters.

Still others say that this was a PSYOP operation by the West to divert attention to the failure of the counteroffensive by Ukraine. The psychological narratives are now widely circulating, with every Western leader harping on the cracks between the Wagner Group and the Russian Ministry of Defence and that Putin is losing control of the situation.

In any case, any advantage that the Wagner Group had hoped to leverage on is now totally lost, with Putin and his military leaders closing ranks and the Chechens supporting him as well. More speculative is that there is now a split inside the ranks of the Wagner Group itself, between those who supported the mutiny and those that were against who felt betrayed. The mutineers are now jobless mercenaries, perhaps hawking their trade by supporting the Belarusians against Nato and Ukraine. Belarus must be wary of the traitorous group going forward.
