Blinken's just concluded visit to Saudi Arabia, slated to rebuild ties, had met with failure right from the start when he talked about human rights issues with Mohammed bin Salman. This is a subject that is taboo to talk about in front of MBS, after Biden blatantly accused MBS of masterminding the murder of Kamal Khashoggi. Saudi Arabia had been intending to cut oil production by another one million barrels a day in July and will now definitely go ahead.
As we have seen in Africa, whenever Western leaders visit, they want to talk about demonising China and LGBT issues, which the African leaders are sick and tired of hearing. African leaders have told Western leaders that Africans do not need the West to teach them how to run the country. Issues like LGBT have no prority to be raised in Africa, where development and building of infrastructures to eliminate poverty ranks on the forefront. China had been the only country helping the Africans in this direction, a relationship built up over several decades.
Turning to China, the self invited visit by Blinken on June 18 seems lost in the Chinese media. On the other hand, Beijing appears to extend a more welcoming hand to the visit next week by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas. The response by China to both visits can be said to be diametrically different. China will give Blinken a muted and grudging reception for sure.
China could see that the self invited visit by Blinken is a ploy to put Beijing in a difficult situation if China were to decline the visit, thus telling the world that China is not interested in fostering peace by not talking to Blinken, and that the USA is all there for peace. China is not really interested in talking to Blinken, knowing nothing concrete is to be achieved and just buying time for the USA to disengage in Ukraine. Many have suggested that in order not to rebuff the visit and thus look bad, China should used lower level officials to meet and talk with Blinken, ensuring more senior officials stay away from meeting Blinken with other official businesses to attend to. The same way the Chinese sidelining blatantly Ursula von der Leyen during her visit with Macron earlier, while giving Macron the top level treatment by meeting with Xi.
On another point, as is always the modus operandi, before Blinken's visit, the USA is already trying to sour the visit before it took place, by claiming that China is setting up a spying base in Cuba. The last uninvited visit by Blinken was postponed over a spy balloon issue. Almost always, there are narratives raised before any talks between the USA and China. This is no exception. Is this the way that diplomacy is conducted? They sabotaged the talks even before it gets started and are not in any way vying for peace. China should not let its guard down.

Now the USA and five allies are barking like rabid dogs that China is using 'economic coercion' against them by going after Western Tech companies like Micron. This is as good as slapping their own faces to remind them to look inside their own cupboard of coercion tools, and at themselves in the mirror.
Trade War and the wholesale raising of tariffs against Chinese goods is not 'economic coercion'? Oh yes, Trump even warned China not to retaliate. The USA thinks the world is as stupid as their leaders and ignorant as their consumers, being told that China is paying for the tariffs, when the opposite is true. What has the trade war done to them? Multi billion Supermarkets and big shopping malls are now closing down, with expensive goods that nobody could afford and suffering huge losses, year on year. Thousands have lost their jobs, and yet they claim employment figures are strong. What about saying that more people are taking on two to three jobs to make ends meet, inflating the employment figures. It is all a master stroke by the 'Empire of Lies'.
Using national security issues, yet unproven, to get rid of Huawei and Tik Tok among others are not 'economic coercion'? When they could not compete, the Administration had to take action to comply with domestic pressure put up by Big Interest Groups to get rid of foreign competition. Why do we think these Big Oil, Big Pharmas, Big Tech big Wall Street Giants are donating massive campaign funds to support Presidential candidates? For fun and laughter? And when China hit back, after tolerating for years, they started howling like wounded dogs, crying 'economic coercion'.
Using sanctions against countries that do not follow their dictates are not 'economic coercion'? What are those more than 14,000 sanctions against Russia, Russian citizens, Russian companies, Russian sports people, and Russian music even trees and animals for?
Forcing USA and Western companies to leave Russia is not 'economic coercion'? These Western companies are going to lose big in Russia as those vacant business entities can easily be taken over by Chinese, Indian and others, not to mention the Russians themselves.
Coercion by using Tech subsidies and Inflation Reductions Act, by pouring money into subsidising and using threats to pressurise global Chip Manufacturers to set up factories in the USA is not 'economic coercion'? If not, why are EU countries up in arms over such a move? Such a move can be construed as 'economic coercion' even against close allies. How ridiculous. And yet they are shouting in unison with the USA about 'economic coercion' by China. Stupidity has no cure.

China's Xi voiced his support for African nation's attempt to broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine. Now, this is going to put pressure on the USA and the West.
The USA and the West are desperately trying to recolonise Africa, and if they were to accuse any African peace deal in Ukraine, as a fake attempt and 'unacceptable', that is going to be disastrous for them. On the other hand they USA and the West do not want peace in Ukraine, after having sabotaged earlier attempts by Russia/Ukraine themselves and destroying Chinese attempt in the same direction as 'unacceptable'. Let us see whether they will call 'Africa's' attempt as unacceptable.
China is taking a leaf from the West. The West can throw smoke bombs, so can China. Supporting Africa's attempt is a strategic move, whether it succeeds or not.
