SMRT making the right move

SMRT has made the right move in appointing Stephen Forshaw, an Australian PR, as its spokesman. As a little rojak country that is still struggling to find its identity and to break free from it colonial heritage, the island finds it very comfortable to have a face that looks like its past colonial master for a sense of security. And the people love it. What ever comes from the west has always been seen as good and of great value. God came from the west as well. Western media is held in high regards for objectivity and unbiased reporting, and of great intelligence.

The recent bad publicity following a series of mishaps by the SMRT makes it a must, a necessity to have a spokesman that can speak with some authority over the natives. Stephen Forshaw is the ideal candidate for such a job. He is good looking, like a movie star, has a natural command of the language that the natives understand. He should be able to talk his way out to restore the blemished image of the SMRT in quick time. When he speaks, the native will listen better than any other locals. He is worth every cent paid to him. The job is cut out for him.

I thot Baey (Hill & Knowlton) would have been a better candidate.

What's the big deal...an Australian PR was also employed (& sacked) by NTUC

Would be surprise if this one also run road back to Oz when in trouble

I thought this Stephen Forshaw guy is the same guy who was graciously handling the tragic SQ crash in Taiwan? A very decent gentleman indeed. Australian or not doesn't matter.

No. That nice guy is Stephen Foreshaw. This guy has done nothing spectacular.

Cant the SMRT CEO or Chairman function as Spokesperson?

Is it so difficult for them to say some sweet words to comfort commuters? Some graduate social escort or concierge will be able to handle the job.

A better move will be to have a flat fare for all train trips. In Beijing, an MRT ride costs RMB2 (about S$0.40), regardless of distance. And mind you, there have many more lines and stations, and the distances are much longer.

Ya I agreed with you red bean. I think we should change the cabinet people to white guys. First they cost less. 2. They are better and 3. They speak well in public.

They are not called white gods for nothing. The woman natives swoon over them and the male natives worship to them.

1.45 pm, can you blame the natives when honestly the white guys are better mah.

Even all our top scholars have to receive their education overseas. Which country is the most innovative like in science discovery or products eg Apple and pharmaceutical and medical breakthrough.which is the most powerful country, again white country like USA. Which is the country that invented all the innovative financial products that can clean everyone off their savings, again USA. Which govenment central bank invented QE that just print paper money and buy your real assets. What currency is widely used? Us$! That piece of paper is being traded from Vietnam to turkey and people use that piece of paper printed in USA to trade. Cost to USA may be one cent but printed on paper is US$100. The first USA guy spend it say in vietnam by buying some real stuff then that piece of paper has a life of its own and being use to trade among the natives and USA will never have to buy it back.

The only thing that they have not done yet is to print larger note like us$10,000 but then with QE I guess it's not necessary and it's cheaper as no need to print, it's just a digit sitting in the computer system.

So enough said right so we should have the white guys to lead us. Some more the white woman pretty some more with big...

That guy went from SIA to Temasek and now to SMRT, which is the smallest of the three. He's going downhill.

Was he chief of defense or army only?
