George Yeo pissed off with fear tactics

Saw George Yeo on TV last night. He related an incident where a resident came to tell him that he was voting opposition, and all because he was told to repent if he voted opposition. The resident was obviously ‘damn tulan’ with all the fear tactics and threats. They have enough of threats and fears for 45 years. George is going to lose a lot of votes for this repent statement. George is pissed off too. And he had reflected deeply into this and is calling for reform of the PAP from within. He wanted the PAP to look at itself, someone needs to buy them a mirror, and asked what’s gone wrong? Sad that they just woke up like Rip Van Winkle and seeing the world has changed. George was his old self like the old days in the Air Force, earnest and contemplative. He has started to think hard again. Would it be a bit too late? You guys please tell him and the PAP what they have morphed into. We all know, but they don’t.

Seriously George may be sincere but I don't know about his team mates. Especially that Lim Hwee Hua is a hardliner.

Good luck to his team.
Singaporeans don't buy their tricks. what reform from within. Its impossible, you will get shot down by the old man. Old man must first step down for reform to occur. Too much negative influence.

History will tells you change must come from external source and never from internal. Last China Qing dynasty has also tried to reform and change after realising its weakness. But, what happened? The change has to come from Sun Yat-sen. And then later, the nationalist China also talked about change but the real change came from Mao.

You can see. no matter what George Yeo sounded the need for change, he is no LKY who is in power actually. Lets think of it, he is more like the Empress Dowager Cixi in Qing dynasty, holding the real power at the back scene. So, what can GY do even he is sincere to point out the need for change?

Ultimately, read the history and learn the history. Vote wisely tomorrow.

George is one of the more likeable ministers in the cabinet. He is the kind of general that the men will follow into battle with conviction unlike another whose looks and mannerism nauseates me.

My greatest regret is that the Workers Party "A" team is putting all they have to win Aljunied and there is more than an even chance that the GRC will be taken.

If LTK had an easy option, I would have preferred he kicked one of the two unpopular short asses out of office instead of Georgie.

Come August, Georgie should stand for election as President if he loses the GRC which he has helmed for more than 20 years. He has my vote when he said passionately and apparently on TV that the ruling party has to be revamped to meet the aspirations of a more demanding and discerning electorate. He is the most believable minister in cabinet.

My crate of red wine is being primed for the big day tomorrow.

History in the making and I want to be part of it by celebrating.

George is not running in the GRC alone. From what was being circulated in the internet, a couple of his team mates are going to cause him a lot of votes.

The 44% vote for the WP in the last GE is telling. There is a big problem in Aljunied. And if they could not see it or take care of it, they are going to lose.

First of all, George is talking about the ruling party needing to change. PM Lee is talking about being sorry. Khaw and the two Lims are using tears to win sympathy votes.

This is a sign of desperation. When desperate, people can promise the moon and the sun. Hahaha, maybe the day of cooling will change their minds too. Be very careful!

How much can we trust them is a very great risk we are taking, if we really give them another chance to change the way they rule.

It might also mean giving them a chance to close all loopholes, tighten the noose, neutralise opposition voters once and for all by redrawing boundaries more extensively, adopt a heavier hand in dealing with cyberspace information and adopt more PAP-leaning new citizens.

The old man obviously still thinks nothing should change. He still uses the same old tactics, resorting to threats. I do not know how much the younger Lee and George Yeo can influence the old man to accept change. He is still the power behind the throne, no doubt about it. Old habits die hard and it is difficult to get an old dog to learn new tricks at his age.

In the meantime my champagne is being chilled in my fridge. After all, today is cooling day.

Tomorrow night, hopefully will be time to bring them out for celebrations.

A national political campaign is better than the best circus ever heard of, with a mass baptism and a couple of hangings thrown in.

Me says if a deer is living amongst the wolves, it would be more dangerous than the wolves themselves.

Question: why is the deer able to live in the company of the wolves? And in their company for so long??

Is it true that even if George Yeo loses in Aljunied GRC, but garner the highest percentage of votes among the losing candidates, he could still be the Foreign Affairs Minister by being a NCMP. appointed by Parliament and the President?

Can someone clarify? This would be something interesting that many do not know.
