After this election, Singaporeans cannot blame the PAP anymore

Ok, many Singaporeans are guilty of kpkb at the govt for policies that they are not happy with. By now the PAP is an open book. You know who they are, what they are, how they think and what they will do. And they have been very consistent and predictable in their actions and policies for the last few decades. And the ministers and MPs are know for what they are, what they stand for and what they can and cannot do. They have each a track record to prove their abilities. Now there is a general election in a few days time. So what shall the people do? There is no point in kpkb anymore. The future is in your hand. Vote wisely and live with the outcome once you have chosen. After that if still needs to kpkb, do it in front of the mirror. You deserve it, to give yourself a good kick in the back. This election is about telling the PAP that you like what they have been doing and confirming it by voting them to power again. Or it could be telling the PAP that you don’t like what they have done and are giving your vote to the opposition. It is as simple as that. And you can blame no one else anymore. You created your own future. You have been reminded over and over again, you deserve the govt that you elected to rule you.

Can't kick ones' own back in the mirror, give oneself a good one between the thighs and clean up the mess of broken glasses.

Yes. You are absolutely right, Redbean.
Daft Singaporeans should not complain at all if they are the ones to vote for PAP. Unfortunately, most Singaporeans are daft and cannot think properly. It is very surprised that many of these daft Singaporeans actually have very high paper qualifications and hold high post in offices.

I'm afraid I find redbean far to conciliatory and too much of a gentleman, and too forgiving.

Why forgiving?

Because the PAP have been in since 1959.

In other words, the sheeple had all this time to change ... if they really wanted to.

Even if you don't accept my position:
The People Get The Government They Deserve..fucking hell, after 50 years...no perhaps after 20...you would say..."Hang on..how about some changes here?"

The people have been bitching about the PAP FOR DECADES. Wake the fuck up. Echoing JBJ.

IMO, the PAP was a 'least bad' choice. at least with these jokers, the little guy with a dream could do relatively ok -- just have to shield yourself from the toxic part of their bullshit.

No one is existentially a total individual all of the time. We are part individual and part sheeple.

Man, after all is both a social and political animal. The 'individual' part has a 'defect' that wants us to control everything that has an affect on us, and sometimes we extend that boudary to be the kay-poh-kia which cannot keep their noses out of other people's lives.

The 'social' part's 'defects'

1. is how we like to follow the herd, even when the herd is WRONG, and are going to be slaughtered. Blind faith, sheeple, controlled by fear and carrot (hope) and stick (threats).

2. Using our social relationships to aid our rise to power so that we can control shit -- and that includes others and their enterprises -- so that we increase our wealth, power and influence. where possible, seek followers who have blind faith and can be puppeteered to do your bidding by carrot and stick. Better still, let them fear you a little.

If you want to be free, you have to be able to tahan pain, discomfort and occasional social ostracism. Not many can do this. People need to feel some sort of 'belonging' for their security.

Our 'herd' mentality is evolutionary. In early human society -- just like animals -- species who were able to form collectives survived better.

The more technologically advanced we became, the more individually empowered we became. At the moment, in modern society, we enjoy a level of individual empowerment unimaginable to our forebears. If you can't make a reasonably informed decision nowadays, it is better for the species that you remove yourself from the gene pool. :-)

So really, there is NO EXCUSE to complain about the govt you have allowed in -- on an individual basis. NO EXCUSE at all.

The People Get The Government They Deserve.

Author, you are absolutely right, if the PAP do not lose big in this election, Singaporeans can only blame themselves for the next 5 years of

i) Massive influx of foreigners
ii) Depressed wages
iii) Rocketing house prices
iv) Surge in inflation
v) Sardine-cans train and buses
vi) Leaders calling you daft and stupid
vii) Prescriptive government (I-say-you-do government style)

Please fellow Singaporeans, do something about it now before it is too late.

Don't be fooled by rising house prices, unless you have another home you can move to, you would not be selling your flat! High home prices benefits the foreigners who sell and then pack up and go!

This is our final chance to do something about it. Lets do it!
Please, do not let me pity you the daft and stupid Singaporean!

Wah redbean. This is what I like -- watching Singaporeans sling shit at each other...blaming one another for their shitty lives.

I can only imagine a cartoon from the Wizard Of Id:

"Sire the peasants are fighting amongst themselves!"

Is the GE 2011 a fake enterprise?

Gopalan Nair certainly thinks so. He makes good points. I disagree that lawyers are the only ones who know the constitution. I have argued that every citizen ought to know the constitution.

Hi A Green Dune, welcome to the blog.

What has come through so far is that the new generation is not that apathetic as people would think they were. Many are speaking out, and they feel very insulted by all the threats. They are going to vote with their heads fully engaged in the stale politics of we are the best, without us all Singaporeans will be condemned.

No, they are not going to be cowed. The young have their voice, and their very own pipe piper in Nicole.

Matilah_Singapura said...

The peid piper led the rats to their deaths.

In another story:

One little boy -- by his own observation and ability to form his own opinion laerted the people to the fact that the emeperor has no clothes.

The story of the pied piper illustrates the fact that the collective is stupid and easily mislead, and the stroy of the emperor's new clothes is about the individual and his ability to think for himself.

It looks like the the collective is acting very very stupid -- as they have forever and ever. Amen.

The Sheeple Get The govt they deserve.
