Trump is still touting that Xi will come to him to negotiate, with even his White House spokesperson keeping up repeating the mantra that Xi has to call Trump to negotiate soon.
Now, let us sit back a little and think about Trump claiming that China has made many indications that it is going to negotiate. If Chinese spokespeople on the media commenting on those tariffs and telling the USA to grow up and stop its bullying in order to get an adult response from Xi and trying to interpret that as an indication that China is sending out feelers and looking to negotiate, he is delusional.
Further, when asked by the media whether Xi in fact called him, he would not answer that and clamped up. What does that tell us? He was just bragging clear and simple. To a prolific braggart, that call from Xi would be broadcast to the moon if it did happen. And his cronies would be reaping in all the dough with the stock market shooting up. Trump already sent a discreet message to them that this is a good time to buy. To whom was the call being directed to?
The other indication that he is trying to pull a fast one was the move indicating that he is trying to use the Tik Tok fiasco as a bargaining chip, using it as another excuse to extend the deadline for banning Tik Tok. That must be his 'Art of the Deal'. China should stand firm and let Tik Tok be banned. After all, USA citizens have already been well informed by Tik Tok on many issues, and by Rednote in comparing living conditions in USA and China. Suffice to say, what Rednote did in a couple of weeks managed to destroy all the years of propaganda generation and demonization by the USA against China. And last but not least I should also mention DeepSeek putting USA tech giants to shame with its AI app.

That call from Xi is not going to happen, no matter how high Trump is jumping up and down. In fact. Xi is taking this opportunity to de-couple from the USA for good, since the USA is so desperate for it to happen. China is prepared to take a little pain for the long-term gain. Much that China is doing now points to this being the case.
China is just waiting to see the USA consumers rising up a couple of months down the road. Stock piling may do some damage control for the moment, but the shit will hit the fan further down the road. In the meantime, China is already making deals to do more business with trade partners beyond the USA. China is taking down tariffs with friendly countries and investing more in others. China wants to see how the USA can cope forcing manufacturing to relocate to the USA and see how USA workers are going to perform under conditions that they are not used to. Doing an honest day's work is foreign to them, after ripping off the fruits of other countries for decades in exchange for their toilet papers. Yet Trump is accusing others of ripping off the USA, as if getting nothing in return. Yes, those are the factory jobs that Trump wants back for them, right? Good luck to those moving their factories to the USA and deal with big, fat, lazy and obese workers. Just one question - How much will those manufacturers be willing to pay them as opposed to other factory workers outside the USA? Also paying them slave wages will not work. How about calling it 'peasant' wages? That may work, LOL.
Xi should continue to send signals to the world financial markets that will collapse Wall Street. Those billionaires who stocked up on cheap shares will be left holding Trump’s baby, with more losses on their portfolios.
That'll alienate these rich supporters and Trump will surely become the orange bankrupt.
Xi will then call Tramp after the COLLAPSE of the Disunited States of Americunts and said Howdy Mates how you like your Trade Wars ah?
Want to sell your big Pantats?
No, no, no. After the collapse of the USA, Xi is going to give Trump the call that Trump is waiting for and tell him 'That is the most beautiful, wonderful, delightful and mission accomplished collapse I have seen. Good work!'
