A dream is just a dream. Bringing manufacturing back to the USA is not going to happen. Anywhere in the world, people can make things much cheaper than in the USA, so why would business leaders be blind to all the realities?
Even companies like John Deere, manufacturer of farm equipment in the USA for more than 155 years, knows that USA is not conducive for further investment and wanted to move some production to Mexico. And Tim Cook has already indicated that he cannot foresee Apple moving production back to the USA. If such homegrown USA icons are saying all this, what will foreign business leaders think?
Again, by using the lure of subsidies? Right now, the USA Government is still subsidizing farmers after the trade war Trump started during his first term. Just imagine that. What will taxpayers say about subsidizing foreign companies operating in USA for just as long. It is ridiculous and unsustainable.

Trump had been dreaming of forcing manufacturing to return to USA since his first term, claiming that China stole these companies together with all the jobs. Did China put a gun to Steve Job's head to make iPhones in China? Did China put a gun to the heads of CEOs of vehicle manufacturers from USA and EU to invest in China? They wanted to take advantage of the cheap wages and massive Chinese market to invest in. That was the reality.
Additionally, did China put a gun to former chief of Amazon, Jeff Bezos head to stock his warehouses with China made products? Did China put a gun to the CEO of Walmart's head forcing him to stock up on Chinese products for display and sale? Did China put a gun to USA consumers' heads to force them to buy Chinese products?
Trump is delusional that he can force manufacturing to relocate from China to the USA. It is as impossible as hoping for the moon to turn blue. China is still the biggest market for some of the biggest USA manufacturing outfits, and they are not going to risk losing that market that is four times bigger than the USA, with the Chinese population possibly already having the bigger spending power relative to USA consumers on purchasing power parity basis.
Western companies that chose to move out of Russia after the Ukraine War started are beginning to regret their mistake of abandoning the Russian market too hastily. Too bad their market share in Russia is already gone for good. And thinking about that will make them ask themselves whether it is worthwhile to do the same with China.
Wealth in the USA is concentrated in the top 1%, with the bottom 50% living from paycheck to paycheck. That the USA is a rich country is a fallacy, just like Japan. Japan had been called a 'rich country with poor people' in the not-too-distant past, when it was sashaying over its rise to be the second biggest economy then.
Took the Americunts least three years to build a factory.
Took at least one year to train the workers and also their high demanded wages can only employ a few.
