The mind-blowing thinking is that the silly Hillbillies are still thinking that China is paying for the tariffs. Now ships carrying Chinese goods are not unloading at USA ports. Chinese manufacturers are diverting exports to the Global South instead. There is still a big market in the Global South that Chinese manufacturers can migrate to, almost immediately.
The irony is that the Hillbillies are going to die 'bird standing' if China just cut off the USA from its exporters and decouple completely. Some Hillbillies are still delusional, claiming that substitutes are readily available from other countries. They are going to wake up from a nightmare a few months down the road, waiting for products from other countries to fill the empty shelves. Remember that all countries have been targeted with tariffs like China. Who in his right mind is going to invest in manufacturing knowing they cannot compete with China globally and the only market left is the USA. China can put them out of business in a jiffy.
Of what use are tariffs, even if set at 500%, if Chinese goods are not going to the USA? What does Trump expect to collect in tariffs if Chinese exporters do not export any more to the USA? China is going to fight this war to the end and the USA better believe the reality, not just rhetoric.
China, like Russia can fight long wars and will dig in to carve out a final victory.

When China goes for the complete break, we better believe it. No half measures and no backtracking expected. China either goes the 'whole nine yards' or nothing.
And when China makes up its mind, it already makes sure to have all the strategic resources in place before doing so, and I believe China has already enough confidence to decouple completely from the USA now. The Global South, with all the infrastructures built up by China, the connectivity afforded by the BRI and the economic support of BRICS is ready to take the plunge.
We have already seen China pushing the boundaries in EVs, high-speed-rails, shipbuilding, semi-conductors, aviation, space exploration and of course manufacturing. And has China succeeded in any of those ventures? You be the judge.
The USA and the Western leaders still probably see China as a country using mindsets in the 1980s, thinking China to be technologically backward, logistically underdeveloped, decades behind the West in everything. And with the Western propaganda machine working tirelessly to send out this message to its citizens, thereby succeeding in its brainwashing agenda, they could not foresee the rapid rise of China today and wants to put a stop to it.
Rednote was a godsend for China, with Tik Tok playing a very pivotal role' in countering USA and Western propaganda. And it was done on the cheap, not needing a US$300 million a year movement. The banning of Tik Tok released the 'genie in the bottle' giving USA citizens a glimpse of what life really is like inside China today, thereby causing backfiring on all cylinders against the USA. Now the USA citizens have more to learn about China than what their MSM had lied to them for decades.
On a separate note, there was a big weekend protest in Taiwan, largely ignored by the MSM according to Nury Vittachi on his site Fridayeveryday. Shhhh...we are not supposed to know.
Had this happened in mainland China or Hong Kong, I think it will be headline-news on every MSM. And even a small protest will be exaggerated to a million or two crowd.
Taiwan has not been in the news lately, and I now understand why. Good news stays at home but bad news travel far. To make sure such bad news does not travel far, the Western MSM's are just ignoring it. Surprised?
How much pain China is prepared to take can be glimpsed from Mao Tse Tung's Long March in 1934, after facing defeat at the hands of Chiang Kai Shek's Kuomintang army. Yet Mao managed to retake China after regrouping. Therefore, expecting China to collapse in the face of the tariff war is just delusional.
Tariff war only reduces China's overall trade surplus without turning into trade deficits against the world. It may affect some small factories in the apparel industry.
On the other hand, the average American consumers would be hit directly and so did the farmers and many small factories and businesses in America. Job losses, bankruptcies, falling stock market, bond prices, de dollarisation etc will hurt the whole American economy to bring down the American hegemony.
If this tariff war stretches for just 3 more months, the Americans would be protesting and rioting in the streets.
The sickest country on earth needs a civil war.
