After being the first few to ink deal with Pfizer and Moderna of 95% efficacy vaccines approved for emergency used only, Singapore again rushing ahead of everyone to ink deal with another American pharma company for another oral vaccine, not yet even approved for emergency used.
The same market hype about how effective is this yet to be approved 'for emergency' use is flooding the American media like it is another wonder cure for the conronavirus. This time they have yet to claim 95% efficacy, to prevent infection or is it to prevent serious illnesses? Whatever, coming from the American's mouth must be good, really good, without question.
See how good the 95% efficacy vaccines were in preventing infection and now the whole of US and UK are seeing infection skyrocketing. Still very happy to believe and hear the good stuff.

One think is very clear on this new drug called molnupiravir, is that it is not above preventing infection but 'reduce the chance of hospitalisation or death by half for patients who are at risk of severe disease.' What, what, only reduce by half? How is this compares to Pfizer and Moderna? Is half better than Pfizer and Moderna, used to be 95% in preventing infection, thus cannot get infected, and definitely more than 50% effective in preventing serious illness and death. So why buy something that is only 50% effective?
Catch no balls. Oh, this one can go oral instead of getting poked. So less painful and less effective are still consider a wonder cure, like a must have. See the mad rush for this wonder cure that is not even used or approved for emergency use?
Did I hear suckers? Oops, oops, cannot say this. Those scurrying for this wonder white men's drug are so happy, going hysterical, and feeling on top of the world to be able to secure this wonder drug first.
Would it turn out to be another disappointment like the 95% mRNA vaccines? Now who said these were disappointments? No one is unhappy with them and are still be touted as the best in the market. Just get poke again every 3 or 6 months would do. No problem.
Who's next to deliver another wonder drug? Definitely not China. The zero Covid in China is fake, cannot be true. China vaccines are of lesser effectiveness even if China is enjoying near zero virus and the Chinese are going around happily with their 'less effective' vaccines.
As long as one is happy in one's believe, it is good enough to spend the money. Who cares if it is really effective or not. It is from America, must be good, really good. Nearly a million American children are not infected by the virus and fighting for their lives. Never heard of such things in China. The Chinese children are happily playing outdoor and going to school.
PS. Would the sales agreement be kept secret, be the same as Pfizers, to indemnify the drug producers from all liabilities, claims and cost, even if the drug proves ineffective or poisonous and people got killed because of the drug?

I know this sounds counter-intuitive. So let me explain.
We started out with a zero-Covid-19 strategy and imposed very strict restrictions.
As a result, we were more successful in controlling the spread of infection. We had to be extra careful about the risk of imported cases from countries with higher infection rates.
No country can lock down forever because people need to work. Our hotels, shops and restaurants are crying out for more tourists.
So we are moving to a "live with Covid-19" strategy now that we are among the most-vaccinated countries in the world. This means infection will spread but the number of deaths could be kept low.
I propose that we open our borders to people from countries that are equally or less infected, provided, of course, that they are fully vaccinated and test negative before boarding the plane.
Here is an illustration of what I mean. On Sept 30, Australia had 2,850 cases. But Australia has a larger population of 25.69 million. This means that there were 111 new cases per million people.
On the same day, we had 2,478 cases out of a population of about 5.5 million. This works out to be 451 infections for every million people. Thus we are a more infected population than Australia. So why are we keeping Australian tourists away?
There are many other countries which have the same or lower prevalence of infection as Singapore.
A quick look at the data shows that we can include countries such as the United States, Britain, France, Japan and South Korea.
It is time to increase the number of countries in the Vaccinated Travel Lane so that our hotels, attractions, shops and restaurants can again prosper.

Other countries try to make the corona infection lower, and then open border, whereas our clowns let the infection spread like wildfire, and still want to open border. As usual Singapore is worst most irresponsible tiny red dot in the world, how the hell Singapore can let the virus spread like nobody business and spread to tourists and back to their country ?
Singapore under PAP government has no common sense. Understand that economy is important but life is more important. Long-term Effects Of COVID-19 Infections After Recovery
Although data showed that Covid-19 infection is dangerous to diabetics, new findings show that the virus can also trigger the disease in those who did not have diabetes before.
Several Covid-19 survivors have developed Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, according to a research published by Diabetes, Obesity and Metabolism in November 2020.
An analysis of 3,711 patients involved in eight different studies showed that one in 10 Covid-19-positive patients (14.4 per cent) were diagnosed with diabetes after recovering from the virus.
Researchers noted that Covid-19 might cause inflammation and insulin issues among patients, thus triggering the metabolic disease.
The virus could also be enough to worsen existing metabolic health issues into full-blown Type 2 diabetes, said Dr Jose Aleman, Assistant Professor of endocrinology at NYU Langone Health, in a Business Insider (BI) report.
As the pandemic continued, reports of patients who recovered from Covid-19 developing diabetes symptoms for the first time has increased.
“Clearly, there’s a link, there’s some sort of mechanism that makes the diseases fuel one another,” said chair of metabolic surgery at King’s College London, Francesco Rubino, to BI on Wednesday (Oct 6).
While researchers thought initially that a disruption of insulin levels occurred, further observation suggests that the virus alters the pancreas, forcing it to destroy itself.
A peer-reviewed journal, Cell Metabolism, published on Aug 3, highlighted that the pancreas began acting strangely after Covid-19 infection.
The organ began producing less insulin and more glucagon, which functions in reverse as insulin by increasing glucose and fatty acids in the bloodstream.
It is currently unclear if the symptom of diabetes is permanent and will last until after infection, said Mr Rubino and Shiubing Chen, a researcher at the Department of Surgery, Weill Cornell Medicine.

This crime must not go unreported and unpunished. The International Criminal Court of Justice must be alerted to this irresponsible and criminal act against Singaporeans in one way or another.
MTF's "Living With COVID-19" is a crime against the old people living in Singapore. This is an undeniable fact substantiated by the increased daily numbers of deaths of senior citizens.
The MTF must be held fully responsible. It cannot and must not be allowed to evade this responsibility by giving whatever reasons to cover up its responsibilities.
