TikTok is a private company incorporated in Singapore in 2017. Though its parent company is Byte Dance, a Chinese company, TikTok is legally a Singapore entity. Its CEO Chew Shou Zi is a Singaporean.
The Americans are accusing TikTok of being a security threat because of its parent company Byte Dance without any proof, just allegation as usual. It is the same dirty lame excuse the Americans used on Huawei and many Chinese companies to ban or sanction them.
TikTok is now facing a total ban from operating in the USA effective 19 Jan 25 if it refuses to sell the company to an American entity. TikTok has stood its ground and refusing to sell this core asset and its technology to the American thieves. The Americans have no alternative apps that can compete with the success of TikTok and are using low down tactics to want to steal the technology of TikTok.
TikTok has 170 million American users that are happy with the apps, using it for business and personal reasons. In the last few days, at least 1 million TikTok users have migrated to another Chinese app called Rednote or 小红书. And the number is growing rapidly. These TikTok users called themselves TikTok refugees and in defiance, refuse to join Instagram or FB, deliberately chose another Chinese app in protest against Washington.
The most remarkable development in this migration is that the young Americans and young Chinese are communicating directly with each other, exchanging views and sharing their experiences, a massive cultural exchange between two young people is going on without being compromised by fake news and disinformation. The young Americans are going to learn a lot about China, see China as what it really is. Same as for the young Chinese about America. No more lies!
TikTok is a Singapore company just like all Chinese companies setting up manufacturing facilities in Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Mexico or any country around the world that are legally factories of the respective countries and enjoy the tax privileges of these countries. The Americans have been attacking TikTok for more than a year and now in the final few days before it is banned. Being a Singapore company, headed by a Singaporean, did the Singapore govt make any representation to Washington to defend TikTok on grounds of principles, that it is a Singapore company and should be treated fairly as a Singapore company?
The latest, Biden is getting cold feet for risking hurting and alienating half the population of America by banning TikTok. Many of the TikTok users would lose their source of income and would turn against the Democrats. And Trump would be the hero to reverse the ban on his first day in office, to gain 170 million votes instantly. So, Biden is not going to fall into this trap he set for himself and may not ban TikTok on Sunday.

Singapore hosted American military assets, was very quick to sanction Russia over Ukraine war and is US biggest supporter in ASEAN, but the US excluded Singapore from a list of 18 countries that are allowed unrestricted access to advanced AI chips.
Also, it seems Trump snubbed Singapore by not inviting PM L Wong to his inauguration.
WASHINGTON: US President-elect Donald Trump's incoming national security adviser said on Thursday (Jan 16) that the new administration will keep TikTok alive in the United States if there is a viable deal, in a potential reprieve for the popular Chinese-owned video app.
TikTok, which is used by more than 170 million Americans monthly, is set to be banned on Sunday under a law mandating that it find a non-Chinese owner. CNA
TikTok is already owned by Singapore. And Singapore is non Chinese, not China. Singapore is a close ally of the USA. Or the Americans still think Singapore is China, an enemy?
170m TikTok users would turn into angry voters against the Democrats when their livelihood is cut by Biden. Trump would be the biggest winner when he reinstate TikTok for the 170m users.
The main reason is not about which country Tik Tok is from or about Tik Tok being a National Security Issue for the USA. Trying to tie Tik Tok and Singapore to the CCP is showing the world just how stupid USA Senators really are. It failed to hold water.
Those are just peripheral reasons cooked up to muddy the waters and forcing the sale of Tik Tok to a USA entity. The intended buyer now being Elon Musk, who is someone thought to be closer to China and has been floated to test the reaction, knowing that Musk has huge investments in China and will be more palatable for the Chinese mainlanders, now that Tik Tok has already been fabricated to be close to the CCP.
The whole episode in reality is all about Tik Tok providing a platform for users to post the truth about the genocide in Gaza, which the Israelis are unhappy about. As we know, Israel has a major influence inside the USA Congress and USA also has a vested interest in snatching Tik Tok for its own propaganda use. Having such a big user base is fertile ground for them to brainwash users, most of which are younger USA citizens. Another reason being that the USA Governments usage of MSM as its propaganda proxy is getting less and less successful and losing its advantage, despite the huge US$300 million investment that the USA Government is putting in. Moreover, the MSM is losing subscribers, just like our States Times.
Why are Tik Tok users not moving more into Meta or Twitter, instead of a totally China oriented site like Rednote? Why are they not waiting for the official decision to ban the app or be sold to a USA entity. The reason being that they know there is no such thing as freedom of expression if they migrate to the other USA platforms or Tik Tok falling into the hands of a USA entity. This is one shock that the USA Government is now facing.
The other bigger shock is that Tik Tok refugees migrating to Rednote is that they have discovered a real gem of a site that provides them a great chance to integrate and talk to predominantly Chinese users and given them the opportunity to discover more of the lies that they have been fed by the MSM and the USA Government. This is what the USA Government feared most and is going to backfire badly.
Indians jealous of Tik Tok migration to Xiaohongshu/ Red Note
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mM0IRFxzQdA
Indians are jealous of everything that China does, because they cannot match. Is there an Indian app that is so widely followed in the USA like Tik Tok and now Xiaohongshu? Not that I know of.
Living in a well and thinking this is what the world is like does not make India great. Indians have much to blame for their mindset on Modi's boasting but little in achievements.
China is benefitting immensely from the Tik Tok saga. Now that Tik Tok refugees are migrating to Rednote, more harm is done to the USA by the provision of another avenue to expose the lies that the USA had been feeding its people.
China had already benefitted from the countering provided by foreign vloggers who visited China, using the visa free provision, and already exposing the lies. This new avenue of countering is even more profound, targeting those that have yet to visit China, but are being informed of the truth which astounded them.
Now, more and more USA citizens are finding out the real situation in China, from the almost free medical consultation, cheap hospitalization charges, cheap education with those in universities paying just a fraction of what USA citizens are paying in the USA, cheap insurance coverage, cheap food costs, cheap cars and even cheaper transport costs. They were aghast at how cheap a hamburger costs in China compared to the USA. It is just 12 Yuan or about US$1.50. Imagine that.
Touching on insurance, it now turns out that most of the Los Angeles homes destroyed by fire had no insurance cover, after insurers denied them cover knowing the fire risk in Los Angeles and upping the premiums with a four-fold increase, from around an average of US$4,000 to US$18,000 a year.
No big insurers were said to be interested in home insurance over there, and one insurer set up to provide that service is already reported to be US$300 million in debt. How that insurer going to pay homeowners is the question. It will declare bankruptcy for sure to escape liability.
Now that USA citizens and Chinese citizens are communicating directly, it is a historic event no doubt. All the decades of propagandizing are going to waste.
As more and more USA citizens start to wake up, the consequence could be profound for the USA. Would the USA resort to more foul play to ban even Rednote? Remember that there are also other Chinese apps that could play a similar role as Rednote. And USA citizens having discovered the truth will still be liable to migrate to wherever they can find out the truth. The USA can try and try to cover and lie, but it cannot hide the truth.
Palki Sharma is more likely making an effort to discredit Rednote out of jealousy. It is surprising that many Indians are also using Rednote, which must have made her really sore. One commentator said that China makes apps for the world and USA made apps principally for India. Now China is eating the USA lunch in India as well.
Who would have expected that to happen with USA apps allowed free rein to whitewash USA citizens and keep them ignorant about China. Lee Kuan Yew warned us not to be whitewashed by USA propaganda. He must have known long long ago the agenda of the USA Government.
One comment by a Tik Tok user who migrated to Rednote makes me laugh. He was talking about the USA Government being concerned about China trying to spy on USA citizens using the Apps. He said that if the Chinese wants to know what time I wake up, what I ate for breakfast, who I talked to, I will willingly let them have all my information. The USA Government thinks the CCP is so free to waste time spying on 170 million Tik Tok users in the USA. This is all really nonsense.
But the damage is already done. Users of Rednote are being fed the real situation inside China - the cheap healthcare, hospitalization, food, cost of travel, cheap cars and even freedom that the people in the USA are being fed lies about China curbing people's freedom. And these are the USA citizens that have not visited China to see for themselves.
