Trump is a big fan of fossil fuel

As I have said all along, Trump is a big fan of fossil fuel, and a big dissident, if I may use the word, of renewables. Trump probably has huge interest in oil exploration majors or have huge donors from oil industry players. That basically is diametrically opposed to huge donors to Trump's campaign like Elon Musk. Musk is fighting a losing battle looking at events unfolding. If it does come to Canada and Greenland being seized, Trump will continue to shout 'Drill baby drill' for more oil from his two new additional territories.

There is much hyping about China still collapsing mantra, with its oil demand shrinking, its property sector unravelling, all without looking or considering its trade surplus still rising to the heavens at almost US$1 trillion last year. Is this a sign that China is collapsing which is just a fantasy or a fact. China's demand for oil will keep falling due to its electrification moves in almost every direction - EVs, Public Transport, rural outreach in electrification, which will all result in China cutting its dependence on fossil fuel usage. Now with more gas reaching China from Russia's 'Power of Siberia 2' pipeline in 2030, less usage of oil will be the outcome.

The USA under Trump can continue to promote fossil fuel and keeping its car manufacturers alive and hooked on ICE vehicle output, while the rest of the world moves on with renewables adoption like EVs, wind turbines and solar panels.

In the face of China building more dams for energy generation, the USA and the West are demonizing China using all kinds of arguments from environmental issues, countries water rights issue, protection of endangered species of animals and fish issues. Trump vis a vis the USA itself wants to sell more of his oil and obviously wants China to be its main customer, rather than allowing China to be more dependent on renewables like water, solar and wind energy. Trump has already blackmailed the EU, forcing the EU to buy more oil from the USA or he will raise tariffs against them.

Much controversy has been raised against China's dams upstream of the Mekong River, provoking anxieties in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, Myanmar and Cambodia. There is a political agenda involved to provoke bad blood between China and the other South-East Asian countries. The source of the Mekong is in Tibet, and it is reported that only 17% of the Mekong water originates from China, with the rest of the water originating from other sources like rainfall, lakes and reservoirs further downstream. What then is the issue with China building numerous dams in Yunnan Province to harness renewable energy? The USA and the West are stirring up a hornet's nest to create fear among the ASEAN countries to fulfil their agenda, the same as creating false threats so that the USA can station troops in countries to 'protect' them against fabricated threats.

There is now another demonization move being stirred up that involves India. China is building several more dams along the Yarlung Tsangpo River, which is the upper reaches of the Brahmaputra River that runs through India and Bangladesh. The narrative to arouse India to go against China in the building of those dams is a works-in-progress.
