As anticipated, Xi is not going to attend Trump's inauguration according to FT. Xi will send a high-level envoy instead. Trump can't fool great leaders like Putin and Xi.
Obviously, Xi does not attach much importance in attending the inauguration event. Not with Trump still demonizing China and using China as a scapegoat to support his plans to take over Panama and Greenland, even before assuming office. If Trump still does not take the hint of the discreet message that Xi is sending, too bad. China no longer holds the USA to the same standing as in the past.
That brings me to the issue of Trump wanting to use force to take Panama, Canada, Mexico and Greenland if necessary. If the world does not say a word in protest, other than the threatened states, it is going to backfire badly on the USA and EU. The USA is playing into China's hands if it does go ahead under Trump, leveraging on which, China can seize Taiwan as well. Who then can raise any objection, knowing that Taiwan is part of China, as opposed to Panama, Mexico, Canada and Greenland which are truly sovereign states not under USA's jurisdiction. Have our 'Principled' one opened his mouth yet?
And some on MSM are saying that such actions by the USA will hurt China more than the USA. We shall see.
