Understand her house was within the wildfire region in Los Angeles. Do not be mistaken about her caring for the Los Angeles fire as her reason. She is not concern about the people caught up in the wildfires. She is more concern about her own home and thus cancelled her trip to visit Changi Naval Base. After all, what benefit can she bring to the USA when she is already going out of office in days?
Like Trump before, Biden is going to paint a beautiful picture of his achievements in office. He held a meeting in Washington forcing all African leaders to attend, talked to them like school kids, had a group photoshoot for them to take home as memory and a US$7 million bag of chicken feathers to develop Africa's digital infrastructure. At the G20 meet in Bali in 2020, he was practically non-existent. At the recent G7 and G20 meet, he was really missing in action. That was his achievement.
Tell that also to the victims of the Maui wildfire in Hawaii. They cursed and swore when Biden visited after the destruction, talking not about that fire in Hawaii and the sufferings of the victims, but hijacked the occasion to talk about a small fire in his own home in the USA a long time ago, when he saved his cat blah, blah, blah. When his car was passing the site, Hawaiians shouted - 'Fxxk you, fxxk you Biden' as his car whizzed past. Oh, they really love his achievements.
Now the same is being played out in Los Angeles. What happened was a lack of water, same as in Maui, or poor water management that precipitated the wildfire spreading uncontrolled. Basically, the infrastructure was inadequately maintained and response slow and uncoordinated. It was a disaster waiting to happen. They will blame it on the strong winds, not on their lack of preparedness. Ironically, drone videos showed big swimming pools filled with water in every luxury home on fire. That is another example of Biden's achievements in four years of office.
Now that Trump is going to sit in the White House, nothing is going to change. All the focus will be on China, tariffs, sanctions, aid to Ukraine and Israel, a new focus on invading other Sovereign countries, more permits for oil drilling and more threats on the EU to buy all that extracted oil. 'Drill baby drill' is Trump's war cry. Wonder whether he is going to shout 'Burn baby burn' looking at the situation in Los Angeles. Of course, when it comes to Mar a Lago on fire he will definitely shout 'Spray baby spray', LOL.

Los Angeles is still burning after more than two weeks or since January 7th. Lots of funny things are happening. Looters masquerading as firemen. Untrained Incarcerated people employed as firemen to help in firefighting and being paid 'slave wages'. Where is Human Rights Watch hiding under and pretending to be mutes? If this were to happen in China, they and the West will be the first to be screaming their heads off.
Now there is a site set up for donations to help those affected. Laughable really as most of the homes of stars and millionaires have been burnt to the ground, and they need donations? It was reported that landlords are increasing rentals and hotels upping their rates to accommodate those affected temporarily. The rich can afford being slaughtered by those benefitting from the misery of others, but not the poor. Where is the role of the USA Government or State in all this? Don't they have a duty to at least provide temporary alternative housing for the victims?
I understand, from watching videos and listening to the comments on Youtube, by people who migrated to Rednote from Tik Tok and having interacted with Chinese users, that in China they were told that whenever a fire destroyed homes, the Chinese Government will provide temporary free shelter for the victims, together will food and other necessities. This is basic human rights under a democratic Government, is it not? What are the USA voters voting for under a democracy if this is not the least they can expect?
It is time for USA citizens to wake up. They are voting for a government more interested in starting wars, antagonizing China and Russia, spreading fabricated news, seizing sovereign states, forcing them to buy expensive things like EVs and groceries and keeping the voters ignorant and naive about what is happening around the world. That USA citizens, now using Rednote, are shocked and felt terribly lied to and shortchanged by their own Government is, to say the least, totally unwarranted.

Trump is giving Tik Tok a 90-day reprieve which is just putting a nice show and spin for his supporters. Read between the lines about what is Trump's real agenda. Trump was the prime mover of the Tik Tok ban during his first term, a ban that Biden removed when he came to office. Trump is still anti-Tik Tok to the core, clear and simple and still wants the USA to have a 50% control in a joint venture. Will Tik Tok take the bait? I hope not, which means Tik Tok has to be censored and not talking anymore about Israel's genocide in Gaza, which is the main reason for the ban, and has nothing to do with National Security or civilian security as was touted.
For those Tik Tok refugees now enjoying the eye-opening education and seeing the truth about China, my advice is to them is to stay grounded on Rednote and not moving back to Tik Tok, which will be under the control of the USA Government if Tik Tok accepts the 50% control or be banned anyway by the USA Government. This is no different from forcing Tik Tok to be sold to a USA entity to remain in operation. This will also make Tik Tok just like Meta and Twitter, having to participate in the fabrication of lies about the real China and participating in the USA's brainwashing agenda. The irony is that now Tik Tok refugees are aware of such brainwashing technique by the USA Government and the MSM and will not swallow such brainwashing in ignorance.
Trump on his first day signed an executive order giving Tik Tok 75 days (or 90 days?) to agree with Trump's 50% venture or be sold to a USA entity, or else he warned he will use tariffs to punish Beijing if it does not approve the deal. Tik Tok should just stop operation in USA after the end of its 90 days reprieve rather than drag this fiasco on and on.
Everything is now tied to tariffs, a problem-solving tool that Trump is using to punish those who do not follow his wishes. Trump thinks that the threat of tariff is going to make China bend on its knees and allow Tik Tok to be sold or be controlled by the USA Government. Let us wait and see how those tariffs that he gloated about will do to the USA's own citizens first. Moreover, many Tik Tok refugees are saying they will not go back to Tik Tok, perhaps knowing that the reprieve is just a temporary stance and is not doing anything positive.
China seems more eager to de-decouple from the USA than the other way round. China is no longer fooling around and has worked out its strategy to counter the USA's actions. China's long term strategic priority is leveraging on BRICS and the Global South, distancing its relations with the USA, which is becoming more and more apparent.
