A president has two key roles. To review the use of our
reserves and appoint key public appointment holders. So, this person
must be independent from the government.
But I’m very sad.
I’m
sad that the political landscape is in such turmoil. I’m sad that a
highly qualified candidate like George Goh was not eligible. They raised
the bar for private candidates by increasing the shareholders’ equity 5
times to $500M and certain management experience conditions.
However no equivalent conditions are required for public sector candidates.
And, it only resulted in all past Elected Presidents being endorsed by the establishment.
This is not a healthy trend for Singapore.
The government must give the people the choice to vote in a President who is independent.
Today,

Love your country by supporting the cause for an independent president.

TKL got foresight, he suggested that many women should be given a choice to stay at home without disadvantages. Government should make policies to assist it. This policies should also be extended to men. The abuses of children in Kinderland School provided a concrete proof of these need. All the other candidates are silent on this matter. TKL is like former MInister Teh Cheang Wan, quick and sharp minded. Despite, Teh lack of eloquent in English, LKY praised him for his abilities. TKL had been subjected to the heat of the oven in the recent criticisms and malices on him. He came out fine with little damages. I will vote TKL for stability and abilities to work with his former enemies TCB snd TJS.
If not because of TKL's foresight, there will only be 2 candidates for the EP, ie Tharman and NKS.

Just thinking about the criteria of 'experience' being the crux of the decision in the case of George Goh's ineligibility, what 'experience' are they talking about and also how is it being applied to the current sitting President, Halimah Yaacob? Can someone enlighten me? Pretty confusing!
India finally realized it has hundreds of thousands of Indian nationals working in Singapore who need to eat rice.
India has decided to permit the export of rice to Singapore, a nation with which it holds a "special relationship," in order to fulfill the Southeast nation's food security needs. This move has been announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
"India and Singapore enjoy a very close strategic partnership, characterized by shared interests, close economic ties and strong people-to-people connect. In view of this special relationship, India has decided to allow the export of rice to meet the food security requirements of Singapore,” said MEA official spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi in response to media queries.
In July, India surprised buyers by imposing a ban on exports of widely consumed non-basmati white rice, following a ban on broken rice exports in 2022.
