The times of the pioneer and merdeka generations were tough, with little laws to protect them, with no good hearted organisations and civic minded citizens to offer them shelter and a helping hand. There were no or few such organisations and civic minded citizens then, as they were also in the same pathetic state of living, trying to make ends meet. No finances to have the luxury to be kind and good hearted. They were like the saying, 'mud buddha crossing the river, they themselves are at risk'.
They earned pittance, trying to make ends meet every day, not millions and not living in good class bungalows and fine dining and holidaying overseas. Their working conditions were not better than the foreign workers today, especially the pioneer generations.
Does anyone remember them and the hardship they went through? Anyone crying for them, to help them, instead of helping the new foreign workers? A few of them are still alive. And some have fallen back to the hard days of having no money in their pockets, and still owe money to the govt because of compulsory CPF Medical Insurance Schemes that they did not ask for it, cannot afford it, and most of them don't need it. They are now debtors to the CPF, being kindly reminded to pay their debt by the CPF.
The only good thing is that many would fade away soon, leaving behind their debt to the CPF Medical Insurance Scheme.
Would there be more kind and caring compulsory CPF insurance schemes to help them, for their own good?

Frankly speaking, this "For their own good" bull shit is pure bull shit. Let me explain.
The Compulsory Forced Insurance Scheme has been devised purely because a few millionaires refused to pay their own life insurance. These are the cheapskate millionaires. They earned so much, mostly effortlessly, just by sitting at high places, yet they are so miserly that they refused to pay for their own Life Insurance Scheme.
So, the best way is to lump everyone together, irrespective of whether you want it or not, irrespective of whether you need it or not, you are forced by the G to pay.
If you do not have the money to pay, then you will have to owe the CPF.
This kind of scheme is actually called a schemer's scheme. Only a big schemer can come out with this kind heartless scheme.
That is supposed to be "For Your Own Good"? Or for the good of those few cheapskate millionaires?

Russia is considering doubling fines for exposing children to what it calls "LGBT Propaganda" and making any act or event seen as promoting homosexuality an administrative offence.
The text of proposed new legislation was made public on Wednesday.
Russia's existing "Gay Propaganda" Law, passed in 2013, bans any person or entity from promoting homosexual relationships to children, though lawmakers argued in July the law should be extended to include adults as well.
As long as it is propaganda to lure people (anyone) to join the LGBT group, it should be banned.

It is heartbreaking that some of the pioneer and merdeka nation builders still have to toil long hours in hard manual jobs to eke out a living. They are largely ignored and unappreciated, their suffering unseen and unheard by most people going about their own business
These are the people that would be receiving gentle reminder letters from CPF to pay up for their CPF compulsory Medical Insurance premium. They owe money to the CPF when they are in their 70s, 80s and older.

As one born early in
1951 to a small time farming family, it was the Best Time l have in living.
Despite
living in a hut constructed with firewoods with the bare earth as flooring and the Roof built wth attap/palm leaves,
as most other houses in the Village, we were blessed with camaraderie aka Kampong Spirit.
The Villagers care for each others and we left the doors opened in the Night.
We toiled from early sunrise to late into the evening, even though there was no electricity and water supplies.
It was hardwork that the Younger Singaporeans below 40 Year Old can hardly imagine, but they are the Generation
that benefitted fom the Labours of the PG and MG most.
Sadly,
though the Wealth may lasts for sometime, it is
dwindling and may be lost fast.
Since
the Later 80s, the
Camaraderie dies off and the Society has turned cold. Since then, Sin
becomes a land where
You Die Your Bussiness
becomes the Norm.
Not just amonst strangers, even amongst kin and kith, neighbour and
colleague.
This is a terrble phenomenon as it goes to show how fragmented the Society has become.
Obviously,
It is not possible to talk about cohesiveness,
harmony and unity.
Avarice and selfishness shall invariably make a rotten
society.
Pray
that we can have a leedership that coud bring back the Good Old Days.

Like to add that despite literally having little money, we villagers had plenty of organic foods from our land and the Shore nearby. In fact we had more than enough fresh supplies of veggy, fruit, poultry and pork etc.
We ate very little
preserved and canned foods
as there was no electricity for refrigeration.
And
I believe that the Good Health of the Villagers were due to the Clean Air, Fresh Food and Camaraderie in the Villages in the Old Days.
The Memory brings back much joy even now.

Seafoods were plentiful round the years and other from buying from the Fishermen, villagers did hunt for themselves during different seasons of different natural
sea produces.
I cannot help feeling that the Living Condition in
Sin is making many sick
in the body
and in the Mind.

Living in Sin shall be more challenging by the Day.
Be more practical and adventurous

I have observed how our society has gone awry.
As l have been saying for many years, things will get worse.
Hot-housing Sin shall make it saturate very fast. After all the Developments are done and sold, this barren tiny rock shall have little or nothing to stay viable. Instead
many infrastructures shall become liabilities. Even the HDB Unit that we bought shall become heavy burden, not to mention unemployment and stagnant income will affect most of the People.
Although l feel lucky to be born earlier, l cannot help worrying for the Younger generations.
Many PG and MG told me not
to worry about the Future and to live with positive thinking.
I got to say, i am not able to accept their
Advice.
I just feel lucky
that my Late Parents took good care of me and they were never a burden to me though they lived to ripe old ages.
My Children
too are healthy and well discipline.
All are married and parents.
Though most had studied overseas and even resided for years abroad,
they love Singapore the Most.l, leaving me the lmpression that migration is never in their
minds. So are many children of my friends.
It seems to me that there is different perception
about the Future of our Society.
