When Xi mentioned about the CCP 'winning the hearts and mind of the people' his message could be directing and referring to Taiwan, to the people over there.
By restraint, and using soft power all over the world, concentrating on lifting people out of poverty, both at home and abroad, with building infrastructures for them to progress, these can be seen clearly and comprehensively by the rest of the world, rather than stoking war and destruction. Of course, these developments have largely been ignored by the Anglo Saxon White countries for obvious reasons. In fact they are trying to sabotage them, as it is a threat to their system, which is war, control and bullying, all by use of force.All these may be news that the USA and Europeans have been trying to pull wool over their own peoples' eyes by keeping them intentionally in the dark, to keep them ignorant. Moreover, Chinese websites cannot be understood by them, just as Russian websites cater only to Russians per se.
However, this surely cannot be kept from being disseminated to Taiwanese of Chinese origin, as they can find out the truth from reading Chinese websites that are able to keep them informed. Hence, the Taiwanese people cannot be blind and ignorant of what China has done and is doing. It would be foolish for them to want war and if they prefer that, it will be mindless and to their great disadvantage for the future. How long can the USA hold the advantage in military terms and still provide support to Taiwan? In economic terms, they are already expected to fall behind the Chinese by the next decade.

The USA even managed to fool the Europeans to drop Russian oil and gas, forcing the Germans to kill Nord Stream 2, so they can muscle in with their own oil and gas, at multiple times the price the Europeans are now paying to Russia. Latest indications are they are claiming that they are managing to stockpile their reserves for winter, but very expensively, said to be ten times the usual cost under normal conditions. So, the Europeans may think they can survive the coming winter, but not the long term prospect of importing oil and gas from other sources other than Russia. As Putin used to say about Ukraine wanting to take back territories including Crimea - Let them try.
Higher cost of energy is not good for highly industralised countries, and German industries will be the most affected. How ironic! How long can German industries survive on expensive oil and gas? Now, the whole world is waking up to the realisation that countries with potential to produce food are less affected by food shortage and energy crisis, as they can produce some of their own food to mitigate their needs, while they have few industries that needed to depend on high imports of oil and gas. Even Red Dot is getting into growing small quantities of food, on HDB rooftops.
Not in the news, and absent from MSM, are farmers protesting in Canada, Holland and will spread to the USA as well. Soon, very soon, there are 27 countries going to follow Sri Lanka into bankruptcy. Italy just collapsed, but not big news on MSM. China's collapse is big news. China was supposed to collapse two decades ago, and having survive so long must have made some people really mad with envy. Never mind, next year is the forecast and if not, the next. By then, we may see many more Sri Lankas before China's turn. Even the ones that think they are safe, with massive debts.
