Covid19 - From Number 1 to 39

Singapore—In April, Bloomberg declared Singapore “the world’s best place to be during Covid.”

A scant six months later, the country ranked 39th, its lowest ranking ever on Bloomberg’s Covid Resilience Ranking scale, amid record-high Covid infections and deaths....

On Bloomberg’s list Singapore is now ranked lower than South Africa, with its nearly three million Covid cases and 90,000 deaths, and whose vaccination rate is yet to reach 20 per cent.

The reasons why the island-nation rated poorly are the stringent local measures that have limited people’s mobility, the slow travel reopening and flight capacity recovery that is far less than that of the US and Europe, even though Singapore has one of the highest vaccination rates in the world.

The above is reported in theindependent.sg

From being the safest country to be in, Singapore is now one of the highest risk country to be in, with daily infection at more than 3,000 daily as reported officially. This is the price Singapore is willing to pay to open up to allow more visitors including those from high risk countries, countries that are ranked at Level 4 according to the American CDC. Anyway what is the difference is Singapore is also ranked at Level 4? There is a saying, if one is a leper, there is no need to fear lepers anymore.

But why the huge drop from number 1 to number 39? This is like moving from first world to third world, so easily done. The reasons, did not open its leg wide enough for more lepers to come in. If this is the reason, Singapore has no problem in regaining its number 1 position. Just game the ranking system that Singapore knows best. It is like bringing in more foreign academics to replace local academics, nevermind if the local academics become jobless, as long as the ranking of Singapore universities looked good by providing more jobs for foreigners. Never mind if the graduates cannot find good jobs and and seen as untalented and unsuitable for the job market. As long as the ranking is high for the universities, that is the important consideration.

So do not be surprised that Singapore would soon be number 1 again, by opening its leg wider as needed to meet the requirements. The number of daily infection can go to 10,000, does not matter as long as the ranking is good as required. Just loosen all the restrictions on movement of people, open up the restaurants etc etc. all will be fine.

Singapore only loves to be number 1. Number 1 in opening legs wide wide for anything.

“the world’s best place to be during Covid.”

Not too sure why people still doubt Singapore.

When singapore has virus under control initially , it is “the world’s best place to be during Covid.” for those foreigners whose country get infected by covid seriously. Now when Singapore has lost the control of virus and virus go amok and everywhere, it is still “the world’s best place to be during Covid.” but for those infected foreigners whose country abandon those who get the virus. Singapore is not only open leg, but is a opportunist. Positive can be best, Negative also can be best by changing marketing tactic. Law here can turn white into black, black into white. Yes, Singapore is a land of unique possibility. We are so proud of our paradise.

The cruel, ruthless, atrocious and inhumane treatment old own oldies by the elected politicians of the Singapore is spreading like wildfire throughout the world.

This will go down in history as the Darkest Period of Singapore's History, and legacy of the PAP Government.

Foreigners are not blind and stupid. They see how the Singapore Government treats its senior citizens as economic deadwoods to be discarded for the sake of the Singapore economy, an unethical, immoral and inhuman practice that no other world leaders in right mind wold have done. They will not condone such an evil policy /measure.

True, but foreigners who benefit more in Singapore than in their own country are somber and clever to take advantage of the pampering of foreigners by Singapore government regardless of covid situation. Where else can these south asian foreigners earn so high, setup village and replace sinkies in this world other in this foreigner paradise? if they going to be misery in their own country, why not make it rich in Singapore anyway, what there to lose anyway for this foreigners ? I never see other countries overwhelm by foreigners of particular country than Singapore.

The license to kill; Since the over 60 percent selfinterest and self aggrandized morons voted in the imbeciles to run the city state, these brainless incompetent imbeciles think they are empowered with the license to do do all the idiotic stupic things like marginalising our own brothers and sisters - the citizens. Time for the comatose 60 percent constituents to wake up and do the right thing otherwise they will be in complicity to damage and destroy the island state.

Notice how they reported the deaths yesterday. They reported 13 deaths, two unvaccinated/partially vaccinated. In other words out of 13 deaths, 11 are fully vaccinated.

Now what does this tell us about fully vaccinated not suffering serious consequences. Oops, there is still the underlying complications to blame. So, let us be circumspect when told that vaccination prevents serious complications when infected. That narrative is beginning to become a flimsy selling point.

That is pure Deception, not selling point. Selling point emphasise the good points. Deception emphasise the bad point to cover up another worse point.

To quote Jasper Tsang, Former President of the Legislative Council of Hong Kong
Singapore went from hero to zero because they try to impress the world playing first country to fully reopen; they are toying with citizens' lives, we won't do that.

Crime Fighter said...

Playing with citizens' lives, especially the unnecessary premature and sudden deaths of so many older people and those who have serious medical conditions, is a sin that must not be condoned or forgiven. This is an indirect genocide, an unkind act of population cleansing and a heinous crime against humanity.

Interpol must investigate and bring the perpetrator/s to face charges in the International Criminal Court of Justice

What are the factors used in deciding the Bloomberg rate? Cannot anyhow accept like the dumb Sinkies and Trump supporters.

Singapore's COVID-19 death rate 'very low'; healthcare system stressed but not overwhelmed: Dr Puthucheary

Singapore has managed to keep the number of COVID-19 fatalities "very low", with a death rate of 0.2 per cent compared to 3 per cent or more in countries that experienced a surge in cases before vaccination, said Senior Minister of State for Health Janil Puthucheary on Monday (Nov 1).

The COVID-19 death rate of 0.2 per cent is “comparable to catching pneumonia”, he said in a ministerial statement in Parliament on the country's ICU and hospital capacity.

"But it does mean that over time, the absolute number of deaths from COVID-19 will rise despite the best possible medical care, and we could have 2,000 deaths per year. Most of these will be the elderly and already unwell," he added.

In comparison, about 4,000 patients die as a result of influenza, viral pneumonia and other respiratory diseases annually, Dr Puthucheary noted.

He said this is why the Government keeps emphasising the importance of vaccination and booster jabs.

“We must make sure that everyone who is infected with COVID-19 will receive proper medical care by our healthcare workers and hospital system, and be given the best chance to fight the disease,” he said.
DEATHS “VERY LOW”, HIGH VACCINATION COVERAGE

Singapore has had 407 COVID-19 fatalities as of noon on Sunday – 395 died in a hospital, eight at home and four at care facilities.

Dr Puthucheary noted that the number of deaths has increased in the past two months as the overall case count rose.

But Singapore has managed to keep fatalities "very low", he said, adding that about 99 per cent of the country's COVID-19 cases have had mild or no symptoms because of the high vaccination coverage.

Seniors who are unvaccinated and have underlying medical conditions are at “much greater risk” of severe illness and death, he said.

"Close to 95 per cent of those who died in the last six months were seniors aged 60 and above. Seventy-two per cent of all deceased cases had not been fully vaccinated,” he added.

“Almost all of the remaining 26 per cent who were fully vaccinated suffered from underlying medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cancer, and heart, lung or kidney diseases. Underlying conditions add risks, even if the conditions are well controlled before the patient encounters COVID-19, especially if the patient is elderly.”

Netizens react to Singapore’s vaccination measures in the workplace

Unvaccinated people need to understand that there's no way they can hide forever from the virus. The only way out is to be vaccinated.

There is a loud minority clamouring that the differentiated measures are unfair. But the truth is, majority of our workforce is vaccinated. As of 17 Oct 2021, 96% of the total workforce has been vaccinated. Nevertheless, there remains around 113,000 employees who have yet to be vaccinated. Of these 113,000 employees, only a small proportion are medically ineligible for vaccination in Singapore.

How to balance between governing responsively and responsibly? This is a question everyone of us concerned for the present and future should give deep thought to.

Education Minister Chan Chun Sing privides much food for thought in his opening address and keynote speech at the 8th Singapore-China Forum on Leadership.

This IB keep coming here promoting propaganda.

Then declare Vaccination Compulsory. Don't hide behind atrocities and under-handed measures to punish those who volunteered not to become a Guinea Pig of the Experimental Vaccines which are approved for Emergency Use ONLY!!!

The shit we have today is because of karma of voting a already corrupted party, a party that been corrupted and rotten for more than 50 years. Covid expose for what they are, useless, insecure and incompetent bunch of expensive money-faced clowns that puppet those good-hardworking people from what in the past is good government. Sadly we are paying a deep price, a country so infectious that one rather not doing testing for confirmation because the rate of getting covid is so high. It is like paying oneself (for test kit (we can't always assume that this is always free) to find trouble.

Pretending to be endemic while behaving like pandemic. Lack of foresight. Full of bullshit, rhetoric and nonsense.

Even one death is one too many. It is extremely despicable to treat citizens as digits and statistics. Only people with evil heart will play with the lives of old people using statistics to cover up their evil scheme.

Whatever factors used, they are applied across the board. Before this, Singapore was Number One. Why did not ask what were the factors used in deciding the Bloomberg rate?

Don't talk like dump and stupid PAP supporters and cronies.

Go and visit all the families of those oldies who died prematurely from Covid-19 and tell them what you say in their face, and see how they react in front of you. You will be lucky to just get a rotten egg thrown at you.

If these minsters and PAP MPs visit the funeral of those who died by covid and vaccine, don't be surprised the dead will rise up and strangle them.

The TRUTH is the extremely atrocious indiscriminate discrimination against the unvaccinated is UNFAIR. THAT IS A FACT! PERIOD!

You cannot cover that up with the rate of vaccination achieved through underhanded tactics, coercion and intimidation or peer pressure and cunning incentives.

The Pathetic And Tragic State Of PAP IBs

Afraid of being exposed, the PAP IBs have gone underground, using Anonymous as their moniker.

Unable to see daylight, they behave like shaddy, cowardly, slimy creepy creatures of the dark.

Without the guts, integrity nor honour to show their identity, they hide under Anonymity because they know that they are without any credibility and their words can never to taken seriously by the public.

Worst of all, they don't even have the ability to make any sensible statement. So much so, they resorted to plagiarism, cut and paste wholesale articles from the mouth pieces of the PAP, and from other people's Facebook postings, lowering their own integrity, dignity and credibility even further.

Such is the poor, pathetic and tragic state of affairs with the useless pest-like PAP IBs.

Whatever money spent on them are solely and soullessly wasted. If the money had came from public funding through annual budget allocation to a certain statutory board organisation, then this is not only wastage of public funds but probably criminal too.

What do you think?

Are you sure all PAP MP's have high integrity? Hmmm, there was Tay Cheang Wan and Wee Toon Boon, among others. We do hold them to the high standard of integrity, but they also disappoint. But let's not dig out the skeletons in the cupboard.

Anonymous said...

"Do they hold WP to the high standard of integrity they hold the PAP? Will they be full of praise for the 'courage' to admit to a deliberate lie fabricated at leisure to cause harm to the reputation of an important organisation?"

Why so difficult ? Just choose a lesser devil.

Give this a thought, how long it take a party to be corrupted ? It takes 50 years to rot with high level corruption, nepotism, dictatorship and cronyism. It will take at least few years or decade before a new party in power get obviously corrupted. So which will you choose ? WP or PAP, obviously I choose a lesser devil. In the first few years, WP will certainly work to prove to the citizens after which if the party gain too much power, it will start behave like PAP. It is not even if but when, because this is law of nature that power corrupts the mind, which is why it is important that a new party replace the old party when that sign happens.

A good question to ask is what the party do "is exception than the norm ?" . To me , what the case of WP Raeesah Khan is exception but the evil thing that PAP do is norm rather than exception. If WP is behaving wrongly all this time, PAP will already catch hold of it and make it front news long ago because WP is heavily monitored by the ruling party.

I don't expect a party not to lie after all people is not perfect, and as long as the lie didn't harm the public but make a positive case for attention like WP Raeesah Khan , so be it. But what PAP's lies as way of governing is damaging to the overall society and public. PAP all along get away with it because sinkies didn't care enough knowing nothing much they can do, resigning themselves to fate, but now the covid changes everything, because now the sinkies'life and livelihood are at stake, losing jobs to foreigners, losing love one to covid, unable to pay mortgage loan are too real for them to ignore.

Anonymous said...

Covid don't care whether people are PAP supporters or opposition supporters. Their job is to infect, to replicate and possibly to damage or kill.

If these PAP supporters still didn't wake up, one day their love one will thank them for putting them in paradise due to covid compication. Mild or no mild infection we don't care, because Singapore medical experts can't even predict what happen in next few years if one get covid. Now the eyes just pretend not to see, ear that pretend not to hear, nose that pretend not to smell.

I have no doubt that this virus is sent by divine to punish the evil things that done to the world just like those monster in the Great Wall movie
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Great_Wall_(film)]

Why do I believe that ? Have anyone ever see virus that bent on coming out new variant at alarming rate and infect millions in such record time ? Not unless it is divine
that want to teach the world a lesson.

Singapore needs tourists and business travellers to come to this little red dot. Without opening the flood gates to all these travellers Singapore will become stagnant and unproductive. Without being number one in everything Singapore will become nothing. Singaporeans are timid and obedient and believe everything the PAP dish out on MSM ( which is totally controlled } by the government. The MMTF has done a terrible job and Singaporeans are suffering. Hope things get better soon.

Singaporeans generally have understanding that Singapore is small, and need tourist and business travellers, no problem with that. The only problem is that PAP government sacrifice Singaporeans with this south asian country because the government has business interest in that country that make them millionaires which merely benefit those of ruling party and not citizen's interest, to the tune of self-denial that the virus are spread from the country to Singapore, and these foreigners taking over jobs of local. Can even come out law against local. What kind of government is that ?

When locals say enough is enough, did the government stop ? No, but continue to do more of the same. The achilles heel and last straw is covid which is sent to punish the evil and immoral government.

Indeed. What has the shift in narrative that she is also a victim of sexual assault got to do with her lie in Parliament?

Why did she even lie in the first place? She lied of her own volition.

Had police not spent extensive time and resources investigating her account, she would not have been found out. Her lie would become the dark cloud hanging over police, permanently tarnishing their reputation with a permanent public record of misconduct in the Hansard.

Please, all politicians lies , which is why you never see these PAP clowns seldom admit mistake even truth exposed, the lies these clown give are far more damaging because they passing policies that affect every sinkies, so people resign to fate know that there nothing much they can do to them anyway, but when opposition make this mistake, all wolves on her venting anger on her, likely to have removed by the government . I pity those Singaporeans that only capable of bring such case to attention while in the meantime nothing much they can do to similar politicians of ruling party. These Singaporean wolves who just plow on her are pathetic which can't see the irony.

Just search the posts in redbean, you find all sort of articles exposing those clowns.

Don't be naive. If politicians don't lie, they aren't politicians. Please name me one pure politicians that don't lie. There is such thing call white lie that done with good intention. It is up to the public to decide if the white lie is acceptable
