COVID-19 Singapore: One More Death, Ten More Clusters

A 34-year-old Ukrainian man has died of COVID-19 in Singapore on Sunday (Aug 1). He died within 7 days from the onset of symptoms. This demonstrates how deadly the Delta Variant is.

The Ukrainian man was a crew member of a ship. He developed a fever, cough and lethargy on Jul 25, and breathlessness on Jul 31. He was taken from the vessel to the SGH on Sunday and died on the same day.

That brings the total of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Singapore to 38? The man is the youngest COVID-19 fatality in Singapore.

Yesterday, it was also reported that there were 111 new COVID-19 infections, out of which 106 were locally transmitted cases, with 25 unlinked. These unlinked cases are the most worrisome. Could they have been infected in the crowded trains or congested buses? If do, this is very serious.

There were also five imported cases. Three of them were detected upon arrival but still allowed to enter Singapore. The other two were detected after they have already entered and stayed in Singapore. The loopholes are still left unplugged, for so long. I can't understand why? This "tida-apa" attitude seems to have become the norm of our Multi-Ministry Task Force in their decision-making prowess.

So far, the cases that are still warded in our hospitals have increased to 602. Among the 602 cases, 43 are seriously ill and require oxygen supplementation. Out of those, 7 are in critical condition and under intensive care.

Among the 43 serious cases, four were fully vaccinated. Of the 4 fully vaccinated, three are serious and one is critical. That means even fully vaccinated people can fall critically or seriously ill. That means the Vaccines' effectiveness is questionable.

The more scary thing is that there were 10 new clusters reported on Monday, with sizes ranging from 3 to 17 infected cases. Worse still, there are now at least 93 active clusters spreading across the whole country!

Better stay at home if you can. Do not go out unnecessarily. Better be safe than regret too late.

The millions-dollars-paid PAP 4G ministers have thrown in the towel in their fight against the coronavirus spread in Singapore as they declare the city state must be prepared for more Covid-19 infections, deaths with reopening.

More people will come down with Covid-19 as Singapore opens up its economy and moves towards treating the virus as endemic, said Health Minister Ong Ye Kung on Friday (Aug 6). This means that the number of people who become severely ill will go up - especially among the unvaccinated - and the death toll will rise. Singaporeans must be "psychologically prepared" for this eventuality, Ong said.

Work pass holders and their dependants will be allowed to enter Singapore from higher-risk countries or regions from next Tuesday (Aug 10), provided they are fully vaccinated before arrival, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) on Friday (Aug 6) announced. It is an established fact that vaccinated people can still be infected with the COVID-19 virus and spread the virus to others.

The move comes as Singapore's MOH reported 93 new cases of locally transmitted COVID-19 infection on Friday, with a worrying 29 cases unlinked. In addition, there are 4 imported cases. All were detected upon arrival in Singapore.

We view with seething anger the 4G elites' trade-off of lives amongst Singaporean broader society for the narrow interests of business people and the expatriate community.

Singapore is following USA and UK in the way of mismanaging the COVID-19 Pandemic, yet self-praise sky high that it is doing very well.

The death toll is too good to be true!

Many COVID-19 deaths could have been assigned to other causes of death.

Many vaccination deaths could have also been assigned to other causes of death.

Now, I begin to suspect the reported figures. I believe they must be grossly under-reported.

The fact that they hide the numbers of daily imported cases from high-risk India suggests that they may be hiding many other info detrimental to themselves if made known to the public.

The fact that they lumped the statistics of citizens and permanent residents together under a new category called Residents, instead of separating them, speaks volumes about the craftiness, cunningness, sincerity and forthrightness in providing accurate and precise information to the public.

The fact that they lumped together anyone who stay in Singapore whether short-term, medium-term or long-term, or on work permits, dependent pass, new citizens and original citizens as Locals speaks volumes too.

How many other things have been likewise presented?

So the CECA Indians have succeeded in their petition to be allowed to come here as long as they are vaccinated. How much weight their voices carry! Be prepared for more daily import of infected people. Be prepared too for the delta plus variant to waltz in here through the door the PAP holds open for it. Citizens you die your business.

Ong is a traitor. Cannot be PM material. All Singaporeans will suffer very badly if he ever becomes PM. He still bear grudges against Singapore voters who kicked him out and belittled him during his first GE adventure.

The Law Minister and Attorney-General have failed to safeguard our rights as citizens

Published by TRE on August 6th, 2021

The power to enter homes without a warrant was previously the exclusive prerogative of the police. Even then, the power has to be exercised by an officer with the rank of Inspector. Only in seizable offences could a lower rank officer enter without a warrant.

This was all eminently sensible. In normal circumstances, you need an Inspector. In an emergency, any officer would do.

Over time, other agencies sought similar powers, but without the clarity set out in the Criminal Procedure Code, and without setting out the special circumstances.

So, for example any vector officer from NEA can insist on coming into your house. No rank required. All he needed to do was to flash his NEA tag. And you must let him in, otherwise it is an offence. There are therefore no safeguards, as he need not be an officer, no offence need be committed first, he can come into your bedroom, and he can stay as long as he wants.

One reason why the powers of NEA have not raised any issue has been the rather sensible behaviour of their officers. And they will not insist on entering if told by the maid that “Sir not in, and I cannot let anyone in”. Also they will do their job quickly and sensibly.

So no one seems to realize the extent of the NEA’s power. But the principle is important, as you cannot guarantee that all vector officers will act sensibly. And I guess once NEA has such powers, other agencies felt they should have the same.

In allowing the proliferation of such arbitrary powers, I frankly think both the Minister and AG have failed. Both of them should guard jealously the powers of the police, and should also have safeguarded the rights of citizens.

Both of them seem to have forgotten that police officers are trained to deal with delicate situations involving the law. Police officers know that if they overstep, they will be punished, and sometimes severely.

So now we have the URA incident, and nothing seems to be done. What is the training of the URA so-called ambassador? There are lots of issues when you give special powers to people not trained in the law, or even lacking the minimum education required of police officers.

Perhaps some authority greater than the Minister and AG can look into this.

Thousands of vaccinated people hospitalised with Delta.

Public health experts warn that ‘vaccines do not eliminate all risk’ amid early signs jabs may not stop Delta transmission.

The highly contagious Delta variant now accounts for 99 percent of all COVID-19 infections in the UK.

In England alone, hundreds of fully vaccinated people have been hospitalised with the highly contagious Delta coronavirus variant, scientists said on Friday (6 August).

In its latest COVID-19 update, Public Health England (PHE) also warned there were early signs that people who have been inoculated are able to transmit the Delta strain as easily as those who have not received any jabs.

"From 19 July to 2 August, 49% of the 1,467 people hospitalised with the Delta variant were vaccinated; 40% have received two jabs," PHE said.

All vaccines in use in the UK are produced by AstraZeneca, Moderna and Pfizer-BioNTech.

About 75 percent of the UK’s adult population has received two shots to date.

“As more of the population gets vaccinated, we will see a higher relative percentage of vaccinated people in hospital,” PHE said.

“we must also remember that the vaccines do not eliminate all risk: it is still possible to become unwell with COVID-19 and infect others.”

PHE’s findings chime with those from the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which last week raised concerns that vaccinated people infected with Delta could, unlike with other variants, readily transmit it.

Obviously, the benefits of only 50% protection for a short period of 3 to 4 months do not outweigh the risks of serious and deadly long-term side-effects from the new experimental mRNA vaccines, which are approved for emergency use only.

The next step the Government may contract out many this SDA jobs to Private Sectors. As usual, these contractors, would employ Foreigners to go into homes to inspected. Singaporeans seow liao.

So far, the government as well as the experts comedians, and the vaccines producers - all of them - have been keeping very quiet about the long-term effects of the mRNA experimental vaccines. Not a single word at all. This is like an ostrich burying its head in the sand and think that there is no evil. Hear no evil, see no evil, think no evil. This is Evily stupid.

COVID-19: 4-Stage Road Map Of Stupidity To Uncertainty

Some brilliant brains have come up with a fantastic approach to tackle the COVID-19 Pandemic. This fantastic approach is a four-stage road map of stupidity towards uncertainty - towards a future where the COVID-19 Coronavirus is allowed to permanently circulate freely in the country in order to increase more severe cases of infection and more deaths, until the whole country is wiped out.

The strategy is a very careful careless balance between lives/deaths and livelihoods.

The 4 stages are:

1. Preparatory Stage,

Making stupid adjustments to healthcare protocols, rules on social activities and travel to prepare the dafts for a transition towards a Covid-infested nation.

The first set of adjustments includes allowing fully vaccinated individuals to meet in groups of up to five and dine-in at restaurants and other food-and-beverage establishments, and the relaxation of rules for worship services, live performances and events so that the COVID-19 coronavirus can start to spread more freely again.

Further adjustments will be made if the pandemic situation remains stable, i.e. infections remain at the Pandemic Level.

2. Transition Stage A,

Based on the assumptions that when 80% of Singapore population are fully vaccinated, infected cases are under control and healthcare system is not overly stretched, there will be further opening up of the economy, and social activities and travel will resume. This will require the full cooperation of the Coronavirus to refrain from infecting too many people in Singapore.

Lives will be more normal and livelihoods will be better protected, once the coronavirus become endemic, i.e. living and flourishing normally amongst us and infecting us everywhere we go.

Naturally, there will be a rise in infected cases and the number of infected individuals with severe illnesses that require intensive care and oxygen supplementation will rise too. The death toll will also increase. This will be considered as normal. Nothing to panic.

The unvaccinated will be protected through differentiated safe management rules, separated from the vaccinated, as vaccinated individuals can still carry the virus and transmit it to the unvaccinated.

The unvaccinated individuals will be ostracized at big events, and at higher-risk environment such as fitness centres, KTV nightclubs and restaurants, so as to minimise their potential exposure to the virus.

There will be continued tests and surveillance, which include surveillance testing of travellers and the expansion of wastewater testing in dormitories or housing estates for early detection of Covid-19 clusters.

There will also be rostered routine testing so that those who test positive can self-isolate, or be isolated, to slow down the transmission of the virus.

3. Transition Stage B.

More opening up. More infected people. More serious and critical cases. More deaths.

4. Covid-19-infested Nation.

The is the new normal. The whole nation will be infested with COVID-19 coronavirus and the people will be automatically and magically become more resilient.

Conclusion

Whole country is wiped out. Stupidity has no cure.

Unlinked but common sense will tell us all from the wet market to F & B outlets, two places that cannot be avoided.

Just weeks ago, entrance to wet markets were neither checked nor screened with tokens. All infections from there are therefore treated as unlinked and untraceable and stay hidden until symptoms pop up.

The biggest worry is that some who may be infected may not fall sick, but are still spreading the virus.

Right now every bet is on vaccination, in the hope that this will provide the herd immunity. But with vaccines still not tested in efficacy against newer variants, the verdict of whether full vaccination will work against newer variants mutating is still out. All else is just conjecture.

PAP or patch and pray.

SINGAPORE — An 80-year-old Singaporean woman died on Saturday (Aug 7) from complications due to Covid-19, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said.

The woman had developed symptoms on July 21 and was admitted to Tan Tock Seng Hospital two days later after testing positive for the coronavirus.

She had not been vaccinated against Covid-19, and had a history of diabetes, hypertension and atrial fibrillation, the ministry said in its nightly update on the Covid-19 situation.

Atrial fibrillation is a heart condition that causes an irregular and often abnormally fast heart rate

This is the fifth fatality from Covid-19 complications in six days, following the death of a 34-year-old Ukrainian man last Sunday, a 58-year-old Singaporean woman on Monday, a 79-year-old man on Wednesday and a 63-year-old man on Thursday.

There are now 42 people here who have died after contracting the coronavirus.

On Saturday, Singapore recorded 75 new Covid-19 cases, bringing the total tally to 65,680 since the outbreak began last year.

The number of clusters has risen to more than 123.

Number of active clusters should be 126 plus 5, equals 131, as of Saturday 7 Aug 2021. And counting......

Delta Variant Spreading Across The World Like Wildfire - Part 2: USA

The latest wave (5th wave?) of US COVID-19 outbreak now averages more than 100,000 new confirmed daily infections in one day. This milestone was reached on Saturday, 7 August 2021.

This high record is mainly driven by the highly transmissible, dangerous and deadly Delta Variant and low vaccination rates in the Southern States.

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee represent 41% of the whole of US's new infections and hospitalizations.

Health officials fear that severe and critical cases requiring hospitalizations and the number of deaths will continue to soar if many Americans continue not to heed the calls to embrace the mRNA vaccines.

Nationwide, 50% of US residents have been fully vaccinated and more than 70% of adults have received the first jab.

Director CDC Rochelle Walensky said this week. "Our models show that if we don’t vaccinate, we could be up to several hundred thousand cases a day, similar to our surge in early January."

It took the US 9 months to cross 100,000 average daily cases in November last year, during the Presidential Election period. From there it went steadily up, before peaking at about 250,000 cases a day in early January 2021. The infection figures bottomed out in early June, averaging about 11,000 cases per day. But when the Delta Variant hit in July the number soar to 107,143.

Hospitalizations and deaths are also increasing. More than 45,000 Americans are now hospitalized with COVID-19. According to the CDC, it jumped 30% in a week and nearly four times the number in June.

The seven-day average for deaths rose from about 270 deaths per day two weeks ago to nearly 500 a day as of Friday, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Deaths peaked at 3,500 per day in January. Deaths usually lag behind hospitalizations as the disease normally takes a few weeks to kill.

The situation is particularly dire in the South, which has some of the lowest vaccination rates in the US and has seen hospitals overwhelmed with patients.

In the Southeast, the number of hospitalized COVID-19 patients jumped 50% to a daily average of 17,600 over the last week from 11,600 the previous week.

Alabama and Mississippi have the lowest vaccination rates in the country: less than 35% of residents are fully inoculated, according to the Mayo Clinic. Georgia, Tennessee and the Carolinas are all in the lowest 15 states.

Florida makes up more than 20% of the nation's new cases and hospitalizations, triple its share of the population. Many rural counties have vaccination rates below 40%, with the state at 49%. The state again set a record Saturday, reporting 23,903 new cases.

In some parts of the US hospitals are scrambling to find beds for patients.

Dr. Leonardo Alonso, who works in several emergency rooms in Jacksonville, one of Florida's hardest-hit areas, said some hospitals are sending some COVID-19 patients home with oxygen and a monitor to free beds for sicker people.

"The ICUs, the hospitals are all on a near what we call mass casualty incident. They’re almost at protocols where they’re overflowing," Alonso said.

In Texas, some Houston patients were transferred out of the city — one as far as North Dakota.

The Chief Medical Officer of Houston, Dr David Persse said that some ambulances were waiting for hours to off-load patients at Houston Area hospitals because no beds were available and he feared "this would lead to prolonged respond times to 911 medical calls."

"The health care system right now is nearly at a breaking point. ... For the next three weeks or so, I see no relief on what’s happening in emergency departments!" Dr Persse said on Thursday.

"FULLY VACCINATED SHOULD KEEP MASKING UP AS EXPERTS PROBE BOOSTER SHOTS!"

(Beijing - Sunday) A total of 15 officials in Nanjing, East China's Jiangsu Province, including a vice mayor and the head of the local health commission, were punished on Saturday for failing to contain the COVID-19 outbreak at the Nanjing Lukou International Airport that has spread to many places across the country.

After an investigation into the ineffective epidemic prevention and control at the Nanjing Lukou International Airport, the Jiangsu provincial Party discipline watchdog announced disciplinary actions against six senior officials.

Also on Saturday, following in the footsteps of the provincial Party discipline watchdog, Nanjing Party authorities disciplined nine local officials for ineffective epidemic prevention and control work at the airport.

Among the officials punished by the Jiangsu Disciplinary Inspection Commission was Hu Wanjin, a vice mayor of Nanjing, who was given an administrative demerit for ineffective performance in his management and supervisory responsibilities for epidemic prevention and control.

Fang Zhongyou, Party chief of the Nanjing Health Commission was removed from his post for poor performance and was given a serious intra-Party warning.

In terms of seriousness, Wang Chao, deputy general manager of Eastern Airports Group who leads the foreign-related epidemic prevention and control work at the airport, was put under investigation and detention for his suspected neglect of duties that has caused "heavy losses and extremely bad influence."

Yin Yunwen, director of the firm's emergency response department, also received similar punishments as Wang, while Xu Yongjie, director of the firm's ground services department, was put under investigation.

Yan Yingjun, former deputy Party chief of Nanjing's Jiangning district received a serious intra-Party warning and was demoted, according to the Jiangsu Disciplinary Inspection Commission.
