Foreigners singing Hokien song in Taiwan - a little amusement

 

Happened to come across this clip of foreigners singing Min Nan/Hokien song. Unbelievable. They sang and sound like Taiwanese.

Jody Jiang Hui is the queen of Minnan/Hokien songs.

Had two limited stocks of Jiang Hui's last two concerts doc's if u wanted to see them.

Original DVD brought in Taiwan by my son at that time after her retirement.

Cannot be duplicated as special production.

One b4 her last Farewell Concert.

Lastly her Farewell Heartbreak Last Concert.

Can pass to u if u interested.

Thanks Virgo. I have quite a number of her disks. Should have most of her songs.

Nowadays Youtube is quite convenient. All my disks are like in cold storage. Hardly touch them.

Only the refugees from north China that ran away with Generalismo CKS aren't Hokkien.

Oh, also those Japanese that removed uniform & blended into population after WW2.

Incorrect. The KMT leaders were mostly from the north or central China. The Hokiens were a neglected fringe group, the province surrounded by high mountain ranges, not easily accessible then.

The Hokiens in Taiwan were there before the KMT fled to the Taiwan. Thus there is this hatred for the KMT by the Hokiens, mostly locals, having migrated there and settling down in the island decades or centuries earlier.

Aren't = are not.

From my reading, he is saying Chiang Kai Shek & his supporters are not Hokien
