Indonesia rubbishes Pentagon’s ‘joint statement’ on China and Russia
Jakarta stressed its “non-aligned” status and said it seeks good ties with all countries
Indonesia’s military chief has denied issuing any shared statements with his US counterpart during a visit to Washington last week, after the Pentagon published a “joint” press release attributed to Jakarta which criticized Moscow and Beijing.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto said the US statement does not reflect his country’s positions, stating that Indonesia seeks friendly relations with both Russia and China.
“There is no joint statement and no press conference. What is important for me to underline is that our relationship with China is very good. We respect each other, we already have mutual understanding. I conveyed that in the US,” he said, adding “We are close friends with China, we respect America, and we seek friendship with Russia.”
The official went on to announce plans to visit Beijing and Moscow in the coming months, voicing hopes that Jakarta could serve as a “bridge” between rival states.
The Pentagon missive, published on August 24 was titled ‘United States DoD and Indonesia MoD Joint Press Statement’ and took on a different tone. It claimed that both the US and Indonesia “shared the view that the People’s Republic of China’s (PRC) expansive maritime claims in the South China Sea are inconsistent with international law.” It also went on to “jointly” condemn Moscow’s actions in Ukraine, demanding a “complete and unconditional withdrawal” of Russian forces. The above quoted from RT is self explanatory. The lying and cheating Americans are caught red handed by the Indonesians to sow discord between Indonesia and China/Russia, deceptively saying that Indonesia is ganging up with the Americans against China and Russia. The Indonesians took offence as this treachery and immediately corrected the disinformation and announced that Subianto would be visiting Moscow and Beijing, and Indonesia is a friend of China and Russia.
Indonesia is the leader of Asean and would not be coerced or compromised by the mischievous and warmongering Americans to be seen as anti China and anti Russia. The evil Americans are the main threat to peace in Asia and South East Asia, and to the world.

They USA is trying very hard to pry Indonesia away from Russia and China. The USA will use misinformation to claim countries are bad mouthing China and Russia and wants to move away from those relationship during their meetings. Good that the Indonesians have rubbished all the fabricated lies.
As a Muslim country, Indonesia knows the hidden agenda of the USA and the West, and will not likely trust the USA with Widodo around. During the last G20 meeting, Widodo would not even allow the West to dictate the exclusion of Russia.
China has not been in the bad books of Indonesia so far lately, and vice versa, though there were some historical baggage which the USA may try to capitalise going forward, by which time we could be seeing another Xinjiang love affair surfacing, with the USA professing their deep love for the Indonesian Muslims being bullied by China.

Talking about the love affair between the USA and the Muslim Ugyhurs in Xinjiang, now a new love affair is playing out between Russia and North Korea. The USA is jittery, nervous, paranoid and hapless, with the hypocrite Jake Sullivan warning North Korea about its intention to sell weapons to Russia, and as you should expect complete with threatening gestures and talking about a price to pay by the North Koreans.
How much is that price going to be? What price is Sullivan talking about? The USA had already sanctioned North Korea to the stone age, but it still has not collapsed, and is instead now also a nuclear power. Will the USA and Nato attack North Korea, knowing they already could not gain the upper hand during the Korean War. Now, with Russia and China backing North Korea with more intensity and motive to protect their friendly ally, what can the USA do?
