The hypocrisy of the USA and the West knows no bounds. And they are shameless, especially when they know the shit is hitting the fan in Ukraine. And in Europe as well.
The West keeps insisting, time and again, that China should use it's influence to stop Russia in Ukraine. The same call, made earlier during the war, was an attempt to create a split in the Russia/China alliance, which is making the energy sanctions against Russia by the West almost rendered toothless, with China, and also India, buying up most of the oil and gas meant for Europe, at big discounts.
Now, the present call for China to influence Russia is all about Ukraine's inability to sustain the onslaught by Russia, and is crumbling. Weapons supply for Ukraine is scarce and they are sending mothballed weapons that are for scrap and scrapping the bottom of their weapons stockpile. They are wary of sending more up to date weapons that the Ukrainians do not know how to operate, and are literally targeting themselves
In any case, does China have influence or allowed to have influence over anyone by the West? I thought that was resisted strongly by the USA, the West and Australia. That is precisely why they formed AUKUS to counter. They could not even allow China to influence the Pacific Islands and make all kinds of threats and narratives about security, just to coerce the Pacific Islanders to refrain from engaging with China in order to progress.
Now that they knew the war in Ukraine is a victory bordering on 'fantasy' by Zelenskyy in his warp mind, they want China to get Russia to stop the war. Why would they not negotiate the stoppage themselves? Why should China get directly involved and get itself demonised for interference later by the West, besides antagonising Russia, thereby fracturing the alliance between China and Russia? Four years of Russiangate under Trump and two years under Biden is still being kept alive in Washington, even though investigated to death. They think China is easily manipulated by propaganda?
Put it the other way round, under the scenario that Russia is losing the war. What do you think they will say if China were to ask the West to end the war? They will blast China and tell China not to get involved as it is thousands of miles away. It has nothing to do with China and the Ukraine War is a European issue.
China must never be dictated to this time and any other time down the road.

Russia Now Says US & NATO "Directly Participating" In Ukraine War
'This report and others, which have also detailed expanding military training programs for Ukrainians in Europe overseen by UK and other NATO-member militaries, has prompted a Friday response from the Kremlin. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov alleged Thursday that the US and NATO are now directly participating in the Ukraine war.
Lavrov's comments are hugely significant given up to this point Moscow slammed what it called "indirect" American involvement. Russian officials spoke of the growing proxy war nature of the conflict. But now it appears the Kremlin sees that there's been an escalation to direct NATO involvement.
Meanwhile the ongoing British program at multiple UK bases continues to be large in size. The UK's own infantry program for Ukraine forces has a stated goal of training at least 10,000 Ukrainian troops. '

First came used Soviet-era tanks and other weapons systems donated from all over Eastern Europe; then came actual Western weapons systems. And now throughout NATO one hears plaintive cries that they have nothing left that they can give to the Ukrainians: the cupboard is empty. Nor can they manufacture more weapons in a hurry. To start churning out weapons at the same rate as Russia is doing, these NATO members would first need to reindustrialize, and there are neither the human resources, nor the money to do so. And so the Russian army grinds away, demilitarizing the Ukraine, and the rest of NATO with it. Perhaps this is mission creep, or perhaps this has been the plan all along, but what Russia is doing at this point is destroying NATO.

Russia could say, take a quick whack at Latvia (it richly deserves a whack or two for abusing its large native Russian population Nazi-style) and then stand back and say, “Come on, NATO, come and die heroically on our doorstep for poor little Latvia!”
At this, NATO officials will stand united but very quiet, thoughtfully examining their own and each others’ shoes. Once it becomes clear that there will be no offers to launch World War III to avenge Latvia, NATO will quietly dry up and blow away.
Eventually the population of the former Ukraine will be forced to make a choice: they can be Russian, or they can be refugees somewhere in Europe, or they can die fighting Russians at the front.
