The Deep-Rooted Culture Of Entitlement In Singapore by Future Kings

The culture of entitlement has taken a deep root in the Singapore society slowly but surely over the past 50 years of PAP reign. How did it all started? It started with meritocracy (rewarding and promoting anyone who performs well) that raised a few farmers and peasants onto the high pedestal of society, e.g. a washer-woman’s son was raised to the most powerful position of the land. After a few of such meritocrats attained high status, wealth and power, they began to think of themselves as The Elite Class, who are entitled to rule the country because they are the best thinkers and performers. After ruling the country for some time, they began to think that they are entitled to rule forever and so they proclaimed themselves as The Aristocrat Class, the Untouchables. No one can challenge them. No one can criticise them. No one should tell them what or how to do certain things. No matter what actions they take, they must always be right. Never wrong. Never need to apologise. They are now entitled to do wrong things and be considered as right. This is the epitome of Entitlement and the zenith of Meritocracy. It is now called Meritocrazy!

Even opinions are now considered as an entitlement!

Opinions are expressions under the article of Freedom of Expressions enshrined in our National Constitution. They are not entitlements. Every intelligent human being is born with the freedom to express himself or herself. This is Natural Law, not man-made law. It is power-crazy men and women who try their best to suppress and alter this Natural Law of Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Experience that has brought so much injustice and suffering into the world.

Entitlement, similar to privilege, means someone/authority gives it to you. Which means it can also be withdrawn from you if you behave badly or not in line with what has been laid down by that someone or authority.

The Freedom of Expression enshrined in the Constitution nobody can take back from you. Not even the highest court of the Land. Unless the Constitution is suspended and a new Constitution is drawn up and approved in a Referendum to replace the previous Constitution. Many military coups’ junta simply abolished the old constitution and replaced it with a new one. Never go through proper legal process. No referendum. No elections. No consensus. Power simply rose from the barrels of the guns. He who holds the gun holds the power.

The law of the jungle reigns supreme in times of disorder and chaos. It is the commoners who always suffer, always on the losing end. That’s why commoners are inclined to think of their freedom of expression as an ENTITLEMENT!

Future Kings

I have posted the above written by Future Kings.

I would like to add that there is something similar to entitlement, like I own this place so I dictate the rules for everyone to follow. This is an example of what a local bank will do when they called you for a survey or to find out something from you. After calling you they demanded that you identify yourself to them. They cannot tell the difference between who needs who? If I call someone for help, I don't ask the person to identify himself to me. That person does not need to talk to me or to assist me. And how stupid it is to call someone and still needs the person whom you already have the particulars to identify himself? What if the person say he is Lee Kuan Yew or Donald Trump? Who is wiser. But the mentality of those in power always take the position that they are in charge, your boss, and you need to comply and do what they want you to do, even if they call you for help. Singaporean mentality or some shit's mentality or mentality of people being in power for too long?

I have scored five As, in my A Level Examination, so I must get the President Scholarship or the SAF Scholarship, if not both.

My father is very rich and he can afford to send me to any top Ivy League university in the four corners of the Earth, but I simply don't care if my father can afford it. I still am entitled to get the top scholarships.

I simply don't care if I am depriving some poor souls that needed the scholarships more than me because I am entitled.

I belong to the Entitled Class of Humans in this tiny island called Singapore by Sir Stamford Raffles in 1819. My father taught me so. My school teachers taught me so. My close friends of elitist parents' sons agreed so.

Entitlement is my middle name. You don't like it? Too bad.

Coronavirus Pandemic To Get Worse and Worse

The coronavirus pandemic will get "worse and worse" if governments fail to take more decisive action, the World Health Organization (WHO) warns.

Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said, "Too many countries headed in the wrong direction. Cases were rising where proven measures were not adopted or followed. Mixed messages from leaders were undermining public trust in attempts to bring the pandemic under control. The virus remains public enemy number one, but the actions of many governments and people do not reflect this. Measures such as social distancing, hand washing, and wearing masks in appropriate situations needed to be taken seriously. There would be no return to the old normal for the foreseeable future. If the basics aren't followed, there is only one way this pandemic is going to go. It's going to get worse and worse and worse...."

Dr Mike Ryan, the WHO's Emergencies Director, said the easing of some lock-down measures in the Americas and the opening up of some areas had led to "intense transmission".

Latin America has confirmed more than 145,000 coronavirus-related deaths, though the number is believed to be much higher because of insufficient testing.

Half of the deaths were in Brazil, where President Jair Bolsonaro has opposed strict measures to curb the spread of the virus.

A study by scientists at King's College London suggested that immunity to the virus may be short-lived (2.5 months). They studied 96 people to understand how the body naturally fights off the virus by making antibodies, and how long these last in the weeks and months after recovery. Almost all of those who participated had detectable antibodies that could neutralise and stop coronavirus, but levels began to wane over the three months.

No vaccines could be available at least for another 1 to 3 years, if at all it is possible.

Hi SSO.

It's Prestige! Prestige to satisfy their Ego.

Ministers and MPs children especially the Papies even though they can afford on their own would also wants to cling these Scholarships for name sakes.

Depriving their own fellow citizens poor families to have these Scholarships.

Also, having these prestigious Scholarships will lead to well planned carreer paths to greatness.

Especially selected for Elections as MPs and later Ministers.

Where got such bullshits that we are One United as One.

We are Singaporeans, Singaporeans SG United.

Brother Virgo, born in Aug/Sep 1949:
Strengths:
loyal, analytical, kind, hardworking, logical, practical, and systematic in his approach to life; a perfectionist at heart and isn't afraid to improve skills through diligent and consistent practice.
Weaknesses:
shyness, worry too much, overly critical of self and others, all works and no play.
Likes:
animals, healthy food, books, nature, cleanliness
Dislikes:
rudeness, asking for help, taking center stage.

-------------------------------------------------------------------

What is prestige WITHOUT dignity?

They may have gained their self-imagined "prestige" but they lost their true dignity, all because of GREED and lack of COMPASSION.

After they have lost their true dignity, they cannot sleep nor eat properly. They became very unhappy.

Then they engineered a scheme to pay themselves millions and millions and make themselves instant millionaires, so that they could speak to foreign dignitaries WITH dignity.

It is actually GREED that motivates all those Selfish Scholarships Grabbers, neither prestige nor anything else.

Singapore, besides the COVID Pandemic. another worse scenario

That is Unemployment!

RWS just announced Retrenchments.

MORE, more to come. Poor souls Singaporeans had to fight tooth and nails with the Foreign Talents to keep.their jobs.

If only, our POP is still at 3.2 Millions or so. All Singaporeans were be gainfully employed.

No recession and underemployments.

Our time in the 70s/80s/90s today quit or resigned two or three days time found another job in same line and not choosy.

Retrenchments seldom heard of except some hiccup crises.

Even SARs, no such restructuring and work at usual with just phase two type procotols and no such social distancing.

All worked at Offices. Not at home.

Due to Dorm infections that Sinkieland suffered so much.

Sigh. Whose mistakes??

Virgo,

Being the son of the First Prime Minister got no prestige meh? Must go and deprive the poor students from the scholarships? Some more he grabbed two, not one, scholarships - both President and SAF scholarships.

If that is not greed and ruthlessness of the highest order, what is?
