"This is a reality not just because of (President Donald) Trump in the US or Brexit in UK. It is a reality all over the world,'' he said when asked a question about tighter restrictions on Indian professionals moving to Singapore.
Noting that a third of Singapore's
workforce is already made up of foreigners, he added: "It would be
mindless to have an open border without any policy framework to govern
and constrain the flow of people into your job market. It will not just
be wrong politics but wrong economics."...
"You have an education system that does not prepare people for the needs of modern economy, and employment legislation which is, in effect, anti-employment. And it's now a race against technology, which we all face," he said.
"The window of opportunity for labour-intensive activities is narrowing. I would say if India doesn't make urgent and major changes in the next 10 years, there is a real problem on our hands," he added.

The first point to note in the above article is that Tharman could see the danger of too many CECA Indians coming to Singapore and the adverse consequences on Singaporeans. But not many idiots can see this and still wanting more CECA Indians and foreigners to come in to replace Singaporeans. And daft Singaporeans voted these idiots to power to destroy their ricebowls, to make them jobless and into financial hardship to themselves and their family members. How stupid can Singaporeans be? They deserve to suffer more with the new govt for the next 5 years when they bring in more CECA Indians and foreigners to make them jobless.
The second point is Tharman's comment that the Indian education system was not preparing the Indians to meet the needs of a modern economy. How is it that the idiots in this island look at the CECA Indians as talents or gods that we needed to replace our PMETS? Maybe ours is not a modern economy. So village gangsters are regarded as talents and our city folks are idiots, unemployable and should be replaced by village gangsters.
Not being dismissive about Indian being a third world country or a dysfunctional country, is the Indian education system better than ours? If yes, we should send our students to India. If not, why are we employing their graduates to replace our graduates? There are some that are very good, and this applies to every education system and every country. But when plane loads of rubbish are brought here and treated as gold, then something is seriously wrong, not the CECA Indians, but with our idiots salivating for them instead of our PMETs.

COVID-19 PANDEMIC IN SINGAPORE - IS THE NUMBER OF NEW CASES LINKED TO THE NUMBER OF TESTS PROCESSED EACH DAY?
On Wednesday, the Ministry of Health (MOH) has confirmed another 249 new cases of Covid-19 infections that took place in the previous24 hours. This number includes 5 imported infections, 15 community infections, and 229 foreign workers infections inside various cramped-up and unhygienic labour-camp-like dormitories.
The five imported cases include one Singaporean and four foreigners. The Singaporean is a 28-year-old woman (new citizen?) who returned from India on July 3.
Just before the General Elections (GE), the number of new infections went down drastically. After the General Elections, in the last few days, the number of new infections rose up again exponentially. Why is it like that one?
Are the coronavirues so accommodating that they gave us a break just before the GE? Or, is it a mere magical illusion happening in front of our easily-deceived eyes.
More seriously, is the number of new infections announced linked to the capability
and capacity of the various test laboratories?
In other words, is the number of new confirmed cases the results of the number of tests being processed by the various laboratories each day?
Never mind how many tests have been taken per day. It is the capability and capacity of each laboratory to run through and complete the testing that counts. Technicians can fall sick and technicians go on leave to take a rest. Equipments and machines can breakdown. Mistakes may happen, etc. All these must be taken into consideration.
So, my perception is that the announcement of how many new cases per day may not truly reflect the real situation on the ground as each day passes. Therefore, if authorities are using that as a yardstick to measure the performance or competency of the COVID-19 Multi-Ministry Task Force, then they may have to think again.
Tharman should resign if he does not support PAP-LHL's CECA policies.
He should not be a hypocrite and stay on as a minister in a pro-CECA Indian government.

Why are there so many excuses to intentionally prolong the unfair, unjust, unequal. incomprehensible, and uncooperative Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement?
Were there some hidden, unwritten, sideline, secret agreements that have not been made known to the public? Is there a separate Annex only known to the highest authority of both countries?

With RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) in existence, Singapore do not need to rely upon India so pathetically and precariously any more. Simply terminate the present CECA and then renegotiate with India on equal, fair and just terms.
Free trade must be also FAIR Trade in order to be really Free. If one side is taking advantage over another unfairly, then it is not FAIR. If it is not FAIR, then it is not FREE Trade. Therefore, the agreement is null and void.
There were two idiots that were coveting and salivating on how big is the Indian market and how undeveloped it is and these are great opportunities for Singapore to move in to make money,... only to be screwed by the Indians but dare not utter a word.
