China needs more bargaining chips against the US

Meng Wanzhou is just a bargaining chip in the American war for supremacy against China. The Americans have been playing with many cards, Taiwan card, South China Sea, Uigher terrorists, human rights, 5G etc etc. China is still adopting a stupid position of a civilised gentleman dealing with rogues, thugs and international gangsters and hoping that they would appreciate a meek and hapless gentleman and be nicer to China.

This dumb game, allowing the Americans to bully China without retaliating has never yielded positive results but inviting more aggressive and unreasonable demands and actions from the Americans and their cronies with little countries even daring to sail their antique warships into the South China Sea to challenge China. When would China learn that weakness invites trouble and China would have continuous stream of trouble if it continues with its appeasement and meek policy when confronted by aggressive troublemakers?

The situation in Venezuela is a golden opportunity for China to pick up a useful chip to trade against the Americans. The Russians have done it, openly telling the Americans to lay off the elected President Maduro and stop supporting a coup led by Guaido, a non democratically elected opposition leader.  Putin has sent in his contractors, ie civilian Special Forces to Venezuela. Trump Jr, the Canadian boy PM, was quick to support Trump in this regime change. What is China waiting for, allowing the US to attack one country at a time, and act as if it is none of China's business until China's turn comes?

What has China done or is going to do? By being impartial, apathetic, a bystander, does not do China any good. The Americans and the West would still be badmouthing China as an aggressive and warmongering state. And when this Venezuela trouble dies down, when a pro American regime is installed, the Americans would turn its full attention to attack China again in all fronts.

Why didn't China join Russia to condemn this interference in the domestic affairs of another country and send in their Special Forces as well and use it as a bargaining chip against the Americans? Get an invitation from Maduro.  Keep the Americans busy with trouble at their doorstep. China needs every chip it can get to fight the Americans. The Americans are conducting a war with China in all fronts, from trade to technology, espionage and military threats. Another stupid thing that China did recently is to cooperate and share information obtained from the moon with the Americans when it was shut out from space exploration by the Americans for several decades.

It is high time China opens its eyes and faces the hard truth, that being nice is not a solution unless it wants to invite more trouble from the West. Just a reminder, why was China invaded by Japan, simply because it was weak. Would China want to continue to be seen as weak and be provoked, threatened and bullied even by small countries egged on by the Americans?

It is time that China takes a stand against the American aggression and be firmly on the side of the Russians and all the victim states of the evil American Empire.

When you have a Big Bully with his running skunks around him trying to show his prowess on a meek person who is in fact a well trained martial exponent, just simply floored that Big Bully with a swift turning kick to his temple in TKD or Round house kick to his Solar Pexis in Karate, lying groaning on the floor, his skunks and monkeys will start scattering away.

China, with its Shaolin Temple exponents should be able to beat just an Americunt boxer who only knows how to just punch straight and feints.

Little skunks cronies will learnt that fatal lession and would not dare to go near that meek gentleman again.

China needed to do once and many nations been bullied by the Big Bullly will give a standing ovation and will lean towards a NEW SAVIOUR.

Sinkieland ah gua leaders will want to send our NSmen to learn kungfu from Xi.

Venezuela is in turmoil. Opposition leader, Juan Guaidó has illegally declared himself president and the Trump administration is backing a coup. Venezuela is lurching towards a new phase of crisis. The crisis is worsened by Luis Almagro, the OAS Secretary General. Almagro who acted against many of the basic principles and mandates of the organization and consistently represented Uncle Sam's interests above those of its neighbours supporting allies and punishing its adversaries. He is now actively seeking regime change in Venezuela and helping to place Juan Guaido, a pro-Uncle Sam puppet as President.

Russia and China warned Uncle Sam to stop interfering in Venezuela's internal affairs. Russia has offered to mediate between Maduro and Guaido. At the same time Russia also sent volunteers to protect Maduro, the legal President.

RB, agreed. As you can see in Syria. Once the Russians are in, the American stop talking about regime change and invasion cause unless they are looking at mutual destruction which they are not willing, nothing they can do to Syria. Same thing in South America. In fact China should get invited to use the naval base there to dock some of her warships and subs so call friendly visit before making it permanent.

Brute Strength Means Everything.

The best bargaining chip that China can have against the US is to increase its nuclear warhead arsenal to more than 10,000 pieces, exceeding the Americans' nuclear stockpile.

China's performance in this regard determines the extent to which the US respects the middle kingdom.

Strength is all that matters to Washington in negotiations. Rules and morality will be respected only if beneficial to the US. Otherwise they will be abandoned.

On Saturday, Russia, China, South Africa, and Equatorial Guinea blocked Uncle Sam's push for a UN Security Council statement expressing support for the Guaido-led National Assembly as the only democratically-elected institution of Venezuela. Ignoring international law, Dotard Trump is supporting Guaido elected by no one in Venezuela to serve as president but illegally recognized and designated by Pompeo and Bolton as Uncle Sam's stooge.

Russia is taking on Uncle Sam in Venezuela just like it did in Ukraine and Syria. Cuba and Iran will soon send their volunteers. China will stick to its policy of non-interference but will likely ship arms and weapons to Maduro like what it did with President Assad of Syria should a civil war break out.

Xi Jinping, for what he is worth, looks more and more like a coward. Not a gentleman. Because he is very tough with his own people. He extradited the corrupted Chinese officials from other countries back to China for life imprisonment.

Just like the Little Red Dot - good for bullying own citizens but coward when dealing with other countries like USA, India and even Indonesi.

Shame. Shame. Shame.

Former UN rapporteur says US sanctions are killing Venezuelans

US sanctions on Venezuela are illegal and could amount to “crimes against humanity” under international law.

Sanctions kill, falling most heavily on the poorest people in society, demonstrably cause death through food and medicine shortages, lead to violations of human rights.

Twenty-first century sanctions attempt to bring sovereign countries to their knees.

“Economic warfare” practised by the US, EU and Canada are significant factors in Venezuela's economic crisis.

US sanctions are illegal under international law because they were not endorsed by the UN Security Council.

Venezuela had already been targeted long ago by the CIA for a regime change. The US has its eyes on the oil. Venezuela had also been an advocate of steering away its oil trade away from the Petrodollar and that obviously is the target for a CIA motivated chaos.

Without Russia, Venezuela would have followed Saddam's Iraq into oblivion long ago, with its dream of non Petrodollar oil venture.

Titiana Ann Xavier said...

Venezuela has broken diplomatic ties with Uncle Sam and its embassy staff is now considered persona non grata. They have been ordered to leave within 72 hours. Dotard Trump has refused to comply and this will put the lives of his diplomats in danger. Meanwhile, Maduro has put his army on high alert and they are conducting drills in case Uncle Sam attempts a Bay of Pigs invasion in the year of the Pig.

The greatest threat to Maduro is the CIA which may bribe a few generals to switch loyalty and betray the country. China led by wise President Xi is watching how events unfold. China will not directly interfere in Venezuela just as it does not allow direct foreign interference in Tibet, Xinjiang and Taiwan. China is consistent with practising what she preaches. Such a courageous policy has won China much admiration and respect from many world leaders.

"US sanctions are illegal under international law because they were not endorsed by the UN Security Council" unquote

Who controls the UN and why is Trump threatening to pull out of most world bodies? Where world bodies cannot serve the interest of the US, the US will pull out to dictate their own terms. So, whether inside or outside of the UN, there is nothing anybody can do? The only way is to cut down the power of the US to size, which Russia and China is trying to do. But against the whole world's beholden poodles posturing in front of the US, that is going to be difficult. When the US demands that 'you are either with us or against us', the poodles will tremble in fear of sanctions.

China cannot be relied on as a friend lah. Her own citizen Sabrina Meng also cannot protect. Where got guts to help Venezuela?

Don't have to paint a heroic image when it is a coward lah.

Canada’s PM Justin Trudeau fired his ambassador, McCallum to China after the envoy said it would be great if Uncle Sam dropped its extradition request of Sabrina Meng who was abducted in Canada. McCallum was purported to have said that Sabrina Meng Wanzhou had a strong case against extradition. He had suggested that the case was politically motivated. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday ordered the People’s Liberation Army to be ready for battle as the country faces unprecedented risks and challenges. It is Taiwan, not Venezuela nor Canada which is the focus of China's war preparations. This includes preparing for a war with Uncle Sam in the Taiwan Straits if Dotard Trump wants to interfere.

They are too fearful of China trading and connecting with the Rest of the World.

George Soros is a Jewish neocon.

“Neocons” believe that the US should not be ashamed to use its unrivaled power – forcefully if necessary – to promote its values around the world. Some even speak of the need to cultivate a US empire. Neoconservatives believe modern threats facing the US can no longer be reliably contained and therefore must be prevented, sometimes through preemptive military action.

The original neocons were a small group of mostly Jewish liberal intellectuals. Neocons envision a world in which the US is the unchallenged superpower, immune to threats.

Missile launch shows China’s DF-26 able to adjust position mid-flight, destroy moving American aircraft carriers

Close-up details of the Chinese anti-ship ballistic missile DF-26 show that the missile can greatly adjust its position mid-flight to accurately attack a moving aircraft carrier, experts said Sunday after China showcased the launch of its new-generation missile for the first time.

Western media frequently question the DF-26's ability to hit a moving vessel, saying China had never practiced attacking such a target. The recent exercise demonstrated the missile's capability, experts said.

People's Liberation Army (PLA) Rocket Force conducted a live-fire exercise in Northwest China featuring the launch of two DF-26 intermediate-range ballistic missiles, China Central Television (CCTV) reported.

The DF-26 is said to have an effective range of 4,500 kilometers, and could hit US naval bases in Guam in the western Pacific.

@ don't be so reactionary:

Being anti-Xi doesn't necessarily translate to being anti-China.

Don't forget, the president of China changes. Even if Xi proclaimed himself "leader for life" doesn't mean he cannot be changed. And also remember, the Chinese population do not get to choose their president directly by democratic processes.

I am still very much "long China". Just as Singapore experienced rapid development and growth, China too will experience "growing pains" because if you are going to grow your cuntry rapidly --- mostly by TOP DOWN massive govt social engineering --- then there will be unintended consequences and hiccups along the way.

Our govt made mistakes, big ones. In the 1970's they were Malthusian and feared over population. So they enacted policies to "Stop at Two", severely punishing people who had more than 2 kids by way of taxation relief.

And now, Singapore is experiencing severe DEMOGRAPHIC problems of an AGING SOCIETY because of the wrong "Stop at two" policy 40 years ago. BUT, we have grown to be one of the richest societies in all of history, with a huge stockpile of CASH and accumulated, globally distributed RESOURCES.

The govt played a part in the success. However it is the spirit and hard work of The Individual Singaporean --- collectively known as "The People" --- who created the wealth we all enjoy now.

Same with China. Their govt can fuck up, but the spirit of the Individual Chinese...you have to go there to observe for yourself how MOTIVATED people are to make money. I use Shenzhen as an example. President Deng may have enacted policy to turn this sleepy fishing village into a free trade area, but it was the energy of Chinese entrepreneurship and the work ethic of the individual Chinese which grew Shenzhen into the tech behemoth it is.

I stay "long China" because of the Chinese culture. As précised by an American friend: Chinese will go anywhere, do anything, learn anything, live any way in any condition, eat anything...that's why they eventually win. (Aka "Eat Bitter")

SE Asia is a testament to the Chinese work ethic and entrepreneurship. Chinese in Thailand, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, IndoChina...is responsible for most of the financial and economic success, largely in part due to their tradition and culture.

It is important to separate the cuntry's politics from the people and their will.

You will observe: The biggest critics of Trump, Soros, Clinton etc come from the American people themselves. You'll find Singaporeans criticising their own govt every minute of everyday. If you get onto the Chinese blogs and WeChat, not everyone supports their govt. And so on, in every cuntry. When the people criticise their govt, that to me is a HEALTHY SIGN. Or as HL Mencken put it: Every decent man is ASHAMED of his government. Yeah baby!!

LKY once said that "The PAP is the government and the government is the PAP". He missed a couple of very important FACTS:

1. The govt is chosen by the people. The principle is govt for the people BY THE PEOPLE.
2. The nation is the territory AND its inhabitants --- i.e. the geographically defined CUNTRY and The People who've inhabited it for a significant historical period., which leads us logically to point #1
....and very importantly...

3. The govt is a MINORITY chosen by the PEOPLE to manage the territory and the societal requirements --- i.e. their function is not to be SELF SERVING, and if they are, they've failed in their function of STEWARDSHIP.

LKY made a lot of bold statements which no one challenged to any effect. Hence we've just accepted blindly the mistakes the govt has made in its previous policies and their enactment.

These are the downsides of having a totalitarian system, a one party govt in parliament, and an inadequate separation of The Powers of State: The Executive, Legislature and Judiciary.

China faces similar potential issues. I say "potential" because it may or may not occur, and depends solely on the character of those who hold the reigns of Absolute Power.

Lord Acton said "Power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are almost always bad men, even when they exercise influence and not authority; still more when you superadd the tendency of the certainty of corruption by authority." Not necessarily. It is not a "given". History has examples of absolute power (monarchs) which ruled well and just. The recently deceased King Of Thailand is one example we had in our lifetimes.

A self-confident China no longer hides its ability nor bides its time. It will flex its economic and financial muscles soon. It has threatened to cut off all investment to Silicon Valley over Western pressure on Huawei. Zhu Min, the former deputy governor of the People’s Bank of China Deputy and former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, warned business leaders gathered in Davos for the World Economic Forum (WEF) on Tuesday of it.

Earlier this week, Huawei warned it may pull out of countries where it is not welcome. While the company did not explicitly point to particular countries, it later proclaimed that even without Uncle Sam market, it can still become the world’s biggest smartphone seller. Meanwhile, Dotard Trump has blinked. He has lifted the shutdown without getting the $5.7 billion he wanted to build Trump's Wall.

"You cannot live the life of a whore and expect a monument to your chastity."

John McCallum, the sacked Canada's ambassador to China, unexpectedly played the role of the little boy laying bare the facts in The Emperor's New Clothes.

McCallum told Chinese-language media in Canada last week that Meng Wanzhou had "quite good arguments," including "political involvement by comments from Donald Trump on her case," against extradition to the US.

On Friday, McCallum again told the Toronto Star that "if (the US) drops the extradition request, that would be great for Canada."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced Saturday he had "asked for and accepted John McCallum's resignation as Canada's Ambassador to China."

Guy Saint-Jacques, a former Canadian ambassador to China, said McCallum's remarks are true but he should have kept his mouth shut.

Ottawa is now as sensitive as a frightened bird. A few words by the ambassador should not have posed any impact on court decisions. Nonetheless, judging from the reactions of many politicians and journalists in Canada, McCallum's remarks are like a dreadful monster.

Ottawa is forcibly creating a favorable public opinion atmosphere toward extradition. That's not appropriate behavior for a country proclaiming to be ruled by law: To set the tone for right and wrong before the court trial begins?

Some Canadians are against moral righteousness while deceiving themselves to believe that they can be honored as moral models. As a Chinese folk saying goes, "You cannot live the life of a whore and expect a monument to your chastity."
