In the 60th birthday of PAP celebration Hsien
Loong said, “We have won the trust of the voters and the mandate to serve Singapore
in every successive general election since then… and we will win the next one,
too.” This could be true, and it would be a good thing if it is true. Hsien
Loong must not forget that the victory is conditional, that the PAP must win
the trust of the voters and the mandate to rule again. I like to change the
word ‘serve’ to ‘rule’ as things have changed, and the PAP has changed, from
serving to ruling the country and people. I would like to agree with him and
wish him and the Party well, and win the next election. It would mean that the
Party has returned to its roots, to its original goals in 1954, of serving the
people and winning the mandate to serve. If it does not, then winning will be a
shattered dream.
During the pre independence days, ‘It was a fight to decide Singapore's
future - "a fight for life and death"… "Many people thought the
Communist tide was unstoppable. It took brave people with fire in their bellies
to stand up to them. Fortunately, the non-Communists in the PAP had that fire
in their bellies and they stood and they fought, not only fought the Communists,
but also fought to win the hearts and minds of the people."
Would the PAP live up to the ethos of the founding fathers
of the PAP, fighting to serve the people? Has the ground shift with the
shifting policies and interests of the PAP and leadership? My view is that the
Party today and the leadership are highly different from pre independence days.
Some would agree with me, but those in the PAP would not. It is for the people
to decide as the people are the one that would benefit or suffer under the PAP
leadership. If the people lose faith in the PAP and choose to give the mandate
to a new party, the above quotes could read like this:
‘It was a fight to decide Singapore's
future - "a fight for life and death" … "Many people thought the
PAP tide was unstoppable. It took brave people with fire in their bellies to
stand up to them. Fortunately, the new leaders and people had that fire in
their bellies and they stood and they fought, not only fought the PAP, but also
fought to win the hearts and minds of the people." And they triumphed and
the new PM spoke to the people in the new National Stadium on its first
anniversary as the ruling party,
“We have won the trust of the voters and the mandate to
serve Singapore
in the last general election … and we will win the next one, too.”
The political scenario could change, would change, if the
PAP loses the trust of the people and a new party will take over to serve the
people. The PAP has only a few more months to convince the people and to
improve its chances and its right to serve the people, by serving the people
and looking after their interests. The
PAP thinks it is serving the people, but are the people thinking so? Would it
be that way, would it continue to rule the people in the way it thinks best and
would the people go along, appreciate being ruled this way, and continue to
trust the PAP and give it the mandate again in the next general election?
Or would the next general election be a life and death fight
by the Singaporeans to free themselves from the rule of the PAP?
‘Today is the time to re-dedicate ourselves to the party and
to Singapore….The
PAP will always be on Singapore
and Singaporeans’ side. Hsien Loong said this at the Victoria Concert
Hall. ‘Re dedicate’ is very meaningful,
the party comes first, Singapore
comes second. At least he still remembers the Singaporeans. Would the Singaporeans still remember him and
the PAP in the next GE?
What do you think?

Far from it.
Do u still remember what WP Teochew Ah Hia said, majority (aka 60%) Sinkies are very scared they accidentally vote PAP out because WP is not ready to be govt?
If in doubt, just remember this and 93% chance u will not go wrong with the outcome of next GE.
Simply because if the above can go wrong, it would had already happened in 2011, in worse times for daft Sinkies and under a worse PAP.
Unless of course a Sinkie opposition leader announce his party, just like the PAP, is ready to contest 100% seats next GE lah. Then there will be a 93% chance PAP will be voted out.
What 93% chance?
If WP win, PAP also win what. It is win win for WP and PAP.
PAP can be many things but unlike daft SInkies, being stupid and daft is not one of them.
I hope SDP Aung Juan Soon Chee Party better win, if not GRC, at least one SMC lah.
If not ah, it is lose lose for SDP and the Sinkie opposition.
After being persecuted for many years, Aung San Su Kyi finally won in Myanmar, so I hope Aung Juan Soon Chee can do the same in Sinkieland lah.
Can or not? What do u think?
It would be a nightmare if some years down the road they resurrected Chee Soon Juan or Chia Thye Poh and his comrades as the Aung San Suu Kyi and Nelson Mandelas of this island and build wax figures for them in the wax museum.
Vote for more good years for foreigners. Vote for more foreigners.
Vote for an inclusive society.
...resurrected Chee Soon Juan or Chia Thye Poh...and build wax figures for them in the wax museum.

Of course not lah.
It would be a nightmare too had Roy won the defamation suit against PM Lee.
Tired of living, is it?
I think the PAP will win the next GE.
But...
...not because they are "better" than the competition. But because they are incumbent.
Regardless of their obvious faults and arrogance, they will win because of human nature.
"Better the devil you know than the one you don't". The human brain is a prediction machine, and the mind, which is an emergent phenomenon of the myriad brain processes primarily focuses on the question: "what will happen in the future? or "what will my future self be experiencing?"
This is how all human behaviour is determined. Thus we choose our actions -- consciously and unconsciously, or a combination of both mental processes -- in an attempt to make our future and our future selves achieve a certain, objective state.
Many times we are wrong. But we are "correct" enough times to give us a feeling of "confidence" such that we trust our world-views and choices to action WITHOUT QUESTION.
Therefore I predict, the PAP will win in 2016.
IMO, it is fait accompli.
Could I be wrong? Of course. Could the odds change and the tide move against the PAP -- of course, anything can happen!

Your Brain -- the advanced prediction machine
Election is round the corner. Veiled threats are surfacing, old stories of the life and death fight against communism, confrontation, student riots and of course reminding Singaporeans of who our heroe is. The can never be another.
Anyway, just watch the show.
There is no doubt that the PAP will win the next GE. That is a foregone conclusion. The way things are in Singapore the PAP will make sure the Singaporeans cast their votes in their favour. There are no oppositions on the political scene. Singaporeans have never been political. They are too money minded to care. As long as their bellies are full, a roof over their heads, money to be made, they will always stay in their comfort zone. Singaporeans are by nature timid and having lived in a nanny state for so long the comfort zone is where they will be for a long long time to come. Unless something drastic happens, another 20 GEs will still see the PAP at the helm. Poor lot os sheeples. I pity the Singaporeans.
PAP shall win the Next General Election hands down and those after. It will not be due to gerrymandering and or other scheme and ploy. Voters will not want to rock the Boat. They have fear and many are fearmongering that investors will not come and existing ones will leave. Property will become worthless and Sinkies will be jobless. SO, DO NOT ROCK THE BOAT NOR CHANGE THE SKIPPER, THEY WARN.
The Sampan shall sink, however, IT WILL SINK FASTER WHENCE OVERLOADED. WORSE, IF IT IS UNDER EQUIPPED WITH SAFETY MEASURE AND GEAR.
The Skipper plays a very pivotal role. As the World had seen in the South Korean Ferry Sewol Incident, a skipper who only cared for himself and his crew and had no qualm to leave his passengers to peril, resulted in great tragedy.
TO AVOID A TRAGEDY SIMILAR TO THE SEWOL, SINKIES HAVE TO ENSURE THE COMPETENCE, RELIABILITY OF THE SKIPPER AND THE INTEGRITY OF HIS CREW THAT FORM THE REGIME.
WITH THE MANY UNSAVOURY EVENTS BEFORE AND AFTER 2011 GENERAL ELECTION, THE FEAR TO ROCK THE BOAT, UNFORTUNATELY REMAINS INTACT OR EVEN STRONGER.
THE SAMPAN BETTER BE PREPARED FOR STORMS.
OOPS! I MEAN THE PASSENGERS OF THE SAMPAN.

It is not difficult to win an election if you also control the election department.
