"Profile: 'Bhim Singh is an Indian politician, activist, lawyer and author. "UN Secretary-General
Ban Ki-moon has acknowledged the concern expressed by many across the
world on the dangers to peace in case the United States insists on
military intervention in Syria. We in India also urge the UN
Secretary-General to intervene to save peace as well as the letter and
spirit of the Charter of the United Nations, which does not permit
interference in the domestic affairs of any Member state.
Article 2 (7) is mandatory for all Members of the General Assembly and
is equally applicable to the big powers and permanent members of the
Security Council. It was tragic and unfortunate that the United States
has been deliberately violating the mandate of the UN Charter - in
erstwhile Yugoslavia, Iraq, Libya, Pakistan and now in Syria. The living
example of violation of the UN Charter was the US invasion of Iraq in
2003 when the Bush administration attacked under the false pretext that
Iraq was manufacturing/hiding weapons of mass destruction.
This author personally interacted with the Chief Inspector deputed by
the United Nations in Iraq in 2001, who admitted that his team was not
able to trace any such weapons. It was proved beyond an iota of doubt
that the US charge against President Saddam Hussein was false and
unfounded and was made only to demonize the Arab leader and liquidate
him. Washington succeeded in its game plan. The silence of the United
Nations over the Anglo-American attack against Iraq has damaged the
credibility of the UN; its silence was suicidal.
In 1999, the US used NATO to commit naked aggression against Yugoslavia
with criminal intent to destroy Serbian culture, history and
civilization. The NATO committed genocide of thousands of people and the
international fraternity allowed wiping out the very name of Yugoslavia
from the membership of the United Nations. President Slobodan Milosevic
was abducted from his Belgrade residence, imprisoned in a dark cell
manned by US commandoes in The Hague, Netherlands. He was ultimately
found ‘murdered’ in his cell when the prosecutors failed to establish
any guilt on his part….
More than two million people died of hunger and starvation caused by the
illegal economic sanctions imposed by the United States of America
against Iraq. In his book, ‘Iraq: A Heroic Resistance’, this author
exposed the Anglo-American Bloc aggression against the people of Iraq
followed by the genocide of innocent people. The US mission in Iraq was
to capture oil, land and strategic waters in Iraq and the Arab world.
Saddam Hussein was the biggest obstacle to this target and hence they
started a worldwide media campaign to demonize him and succeeded in
eliminating him (Saddam Hussein). The US proclaimed that it intended to
bring democracy in Iraq. Today in Iraq hundreds of innocent people are
killed daily by weapons manufactured in the western world. Where were
the weapons of mass destruction that the US had detected in Iraq?
The United Nations is answerable for its silence when NATO fighters and
bombers were showering bombs and arsenals on the people of Libya.
International Law and the UN Charter were thrown to the winds by the
Anglo-American Bloc and European allies. How and under what provision of
the UN Charter did the Anglo-American Bloc use NATO forces to destroy
the Arab people and brutally assassinate Libyan leader, Col. Gaddafi?
The intention was not democracy but the oils of Libya which stands ninth
in oil reserves in the world. Where is the democracy in Libya? Where
were the humanists when the USA was committing genocide in Iraq, Libya
and now in Syria?
The next target is India. The US has been promoting the Dixon Plan since
1951. To reach India, they are targetting Syria and Iran. Now American
media is demonizing President Basher al-Assad, having succeeded in
getting rid of Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak and also its first
elected President, Mohamed Morsi.
Washington does not want to see another Nasser or Saddam or Gaddafi or
even Arafat on Arab soil. Its entire strategy has been to demolish
leadership in the Arab world and establish US hegemony. The interest is
to grab Arab oils, earth-wealth and strategic land and waters all over
the globe.
The Anglo-American Axis needs Gilgit-Baltistan to monitor China. This
Bloc needs Afghanistan to keep watch on the Russian Federation. The US
needs control over Latin America so that all the gold, diamond reserves
and earth-wealth in those countries remains in its hands. The West has
divided Sudan by fomenting Muslim-Christian conflict as done previously
in the Indian sub-continent during British Rule. They divided Cameroon,
the Congo, East Africa, and Palestine….
Now the Obama administration wants to attack Syria and liquidate
President Basher al-Assad so that no dissenting voice remains against
the United States. This fact is established after the clear message from
NATO Political Chief Anders Fogh Rasmussen that the attack on Syria
shall be ‘short, sharp & tailored’. This means the aim is to
liquidate the Syrian leadership and its elected President.
The British Parliament has demonstrated a clever strategy to keep Arab
opinion divided. Prime Minister David Cameron lost his motion by 13
votes in the House of Commons, thus showing that Britons have learnt
from Iraq and Libya….
Putin has dubbed the so-called ‘chemical weapons’ theory in Syria as
‘utter nonsense’. China is equally concerned about US intrigues to
demolish Syria so that Israel can freely expand in the Middle East.
Obama may have compulsions to attack Syria but Obama stands defeated in
his own arguments when he welcomes the support of Arab leaders on the
one hand and calls for democracy in the Arab world on the other.
India made its stand clear on the eve of G20 Conclave being held in
Kremlin, Russia, that she will not support foreign interference in the
domestic affairs of Syria. The people of India stand for peace all over
the world. India stands for the sovereignty and independence of all
nations, and opposes any interference in the domestic affairs of other
nations."
The above article stated clearly the intent and motivation of the
Americans to attack Syria and its invasion of other Middle Eastern and
African countries. The sad thing about such articles is that the
Americans are setting the agenda and no one is questioning if the
Americans are guilty in the first place. They just tried to defend the
victim nations. Why don’t they question America’s role in the chemical
attack and what if the Americans are the supplier of the chemical
weapons or even a party to the chemical attack?
Many countries rightfully sang the tune that the guilty party conducting
chemical attacks should be duly punished. Hsien Loong also took this
stand and said the same thing which is morally right and in tune with
international law. The UN should decide and if found guilty, the party
should be punished by a military attack.
Now the tricky part. The Russians have evidence to prove that the
chemical weapons came from Saudi Arabia. If it is proven that it was the
work of Saudi Arabia, would all the countries that condemned this
chemical attack also support a UN resolution to bomb Saudi Arabia? And
if the investigation goes further and prove that the US is behind the
chemical attack, would they also support an attack on the USA? Or would
everyone turn the other way, case closed?
Why aren’t the interested parties be conducting an investigation to
prove the guilt or innocence of the Americans? At the moment they could
be the devil but standing on high pedestal like angels. They could be
the guilty party but pointing the fingers at everyone. They cannot be
presumed to be innocence as they are party to this conflict and with
their hands in everything, including training of insurgents, agents and
provocateurs on the ground and supplying the weapons and supplying
chemical weapons cannot be ruled out even through a third party. The
Americans have vested interest in the conflict and cannot be trusted as a
neutral observer.

The Aussie GE came and went
Australia has a new party in power and a new PM in Tony Abbott. Kevin
Rudd made a graceful exit and praised himself and his own party for
still being a force to be reckon with in the next GE. And every
Australian is in a party mood. It was just another day in the lives of
the Australian, even when there is a change of govt.
Over here, Alex Au has been quoted to say, “… given that the transition will unavoidably be difficult, what can the opposition do to buy itself more credit?” Of course he was referring to the possibility of a change of govt in the near future with Tan Jee Say saying that it is a matter of when. Why should a change of govt with a new political party in charge be unavoidably difficult in a mature democracy of well educated and knowledgeable citizenry? We are in the First World aren’t we? We are no longer wild apes. Or we are still stuck in Third World politics that any change of political power and fortune is going to be messy and even bloody? It is terribly upsetting and sad that there is such a fear of an uprising or a military coup or things of such nature that befits a Third World pariah country with pariah political leadership.
Why can’t our social political system be like the Australians or the British or any of the mature European country? Even an emerging country with the brand of Communism is looking more stable and peaceful in making changes in political leadership. Do we really believe or expect violence or something similar should an opposition party won the next GE?
Where is this source of violence and instability going to come from? Why is this so? Have not the politicians come to the reckoning that in a democracy, where a GE is held once every 4 or 5 years, a change of govt is normal, expected and nothing more than the changing of the guards? Or is it that political leadership in this City is enshrined, hereditary or that some parties are guaranteed by the dark forces to be forever in power and any change will release the destructive forces of the dark side to deal a severe blow to the challenger?
Come to think of it, can be quite scary that this pretentious First World City will return to its rightful place in the Third World of instability and chaos if there is a change of political leadership. If that be the case, it just shows how humbug things are and the oasis of growth, prosperity, peace and tranquillity is just a mirage. In reality we have not arrived yet, not achieving anything that can survive a change of political leadership, and what you see is not what it is. Have we wasted the last 46 years developing nothing but a shaky political system that cannot withstand the test of time and change of political leadership?
Perhaps Alex Au is right, and that is very sad. What do you think?

Jason Chee - The indomitable spirit of living
We had one week of Nick Vujicic, the inspirational speaker that won the hearts of many Singaporeans and all those that had the privilege of listening to this very unusual man. He is a very pleasant looking guy other than his congenital handicap of being born without limps except for a flipper like left ‘leg’ that is all less than 30cm long. Seeing him on stage and waggling across a table top like a penguin is scary and intimidating. But when Nick spoke, his sprightly spirit won over everyone present that living is not just about a physical body but all about the mind and spirit. He is everything an optimist, and nothing can make his day a bad day. He is married with a charming wife, heard he also has a son and has done many things in life that a normal person could only dream of doing.
Nick Vujicic has a double ot twin living among us in Jason
Chee. Jason, a young and healthy military expert in the Navy has a future waiting
for him like any able bodied young man. He went to hell when he was caught in a
winch for several hours with his body stuck and crushed by that awesome
machine. He was as good as dead. By the time they extricated his body he has
lost both legs, his left arm, and a right arm with only two fingers. What a
cruel fate that was handed to this young man.
Never would anyone believe that he could smile again. He
refused to give up and never was he down in spirit in a single day, or at least
he put on a very brave front in the public eyes. He is still alive and living
well, and his chubby and ever smiling radiant face greeted everyone that met
him. Looking at the picture of him and Nick Vujicic in the papers would lead
everyone to believe that nothing is amiss.
In Jason’s case, it is heartening to know that the Navy or
Mindef did not leave him behind like a piece of broken furniture. Mindef is
giving him every support and assistance he needed, fitting him with whatever
that is available, motorised wheel chair and all the physiotherapy and
psychological care to help him to start a new life. Nick Vujicic is a timely
living role model for people like Jason.
The latest, the Navy is not abandoning him in the scrap
yard. They are keeping him and offering him a desk bound job in the Navy. They
surely take care of their own kind and something to be proud of. Wish the govt
could take care of able and healthy Singaporeans the way the Navy takes care of
Jason Chee. Then we would not have so many grouses, so many jobless PMETs and
so many cries of being betrayed.
Jason Chee will stand up again one day when he is fitted
with prosthetic limbs.

MAS lost S$10.2b!
This is reported in an
article by Simon Black, an international investor,
entrepreneur, permanent traveler, free man, and founder of Sovereign Man
posted in http://www.sovereignman.com/trends/singapores-central-bank-lost-87-of-gd. MAS lost S$10.2b trying
desperately to defend the Singapore dollar’s rise against the US dollar.
The report said that ‘MAS
was buying US dollars and then intentionally selling them at a lower price in
order to create artificial demand for US dollars. This
was a completely failed strategy.
Singapore’s ultra-healthy
economy attracts investment from around the world, and the natural tendency is
for the Singapore dollar to rise….
In fact, Singapore’s economy
only grew by S$11.5 billion from 2012-2013… so MAS managed to blow through 87%
of the country’s economic growth last year fighting Ben Bernanke. Crazy.
This is something that is
clearly not sustainable. And while that term is a bit overused today, such
losses cannot continue indefinitely.’
The sum is huge definitely
and the report suggested that this is a dangerous exercise that could bankrupt
a central bank. What it did not say but meant is that the MAS was stupid to do
what it did. Is that so? I believe that MAS must have strong reasons to do
spend $10.2b and has been quite successful in preventing the S$ to rise against
the greenback. In fact the S$ is looking like one of the weakest Asian currency
vis a vis the greenback and has lost some 10 to 20% in value. And I believe
this must be the goal of MAS and there must be better returns somewhere that
could offset the S$10.2b lost in allowing the S$ to weaken.
The author of the article
did not know the full story and thought that MAS is really making a big loss of
S$10.2b without knowing that the bigger picture could be net gains of much more
than this loss. I hope MAS could come out with an explanation to prove that the
author of the article is wrong and MAS is having the last laugh. Better to show
with statistics that the $10.2b spent has been recouped with several tens of
billions of profit.

Fake qualifications not a problem
The problem of fake qualifications has been over blown, out of
proportion, an issue like making mountain out of mole hill. What did I
say so?
We have near to a million foreigners with professional qualifications working here. And from the records so far, only a handful have been caught and charged for falsifying their qualifications or using fake qualifications to get employments here. I think not more than a hundred. In percentage terms this is so small that it is a non issue, not worth the effort to flush them out.
The Sinkies should drop this issue and move on. Fake qualifications and certificates are not a problem worth exploring. Tio boh? If there are really so many fake degrees floating around, many would have been exposed or caught by now. The fact that nothing really happened means that all is well.

The cursed Singaporeans – part 2
Many retirees living off their pensions are in dire straits given the
galloping inflation rate over the last decades. Whatever pensions they
are receiving have been eroded to less than half their values and
dwindling further every day. They thought it was a great blessing to be
alive for so long. The truth, the longer they live, the worst their
financial position will be. Those who are lucky enough to have bought
properties could still live on quite comfortably. Those without would
have to make do with whatever they have, downgrading if they can. What
about those without pension, without property and with no dependents?
The plight of the oldies is not a once off thing. Those in their 40s or 50s will join this group of cursed citizens very soon. Each with a life span of 80 or 90 years but many would have lost their jobs in their 50s. The only saving grace is to pawn their HDB flats. But this is only possible if they are not struck by a serious illness that pawning their HDB flats would not be enough.
How many oldies can survive 30 or 40 years without a source of income? Even their HDB flat cannot provide for everything as they still need a roof over their heads. Would they all end up renting a room from other oldies to live through their last days?
But that is not all. The escalating cost of living is going to be accompanied by an escalating medical cost. And this one is more deadly in the sense that no one will be exempted. They will have to pay, like it or not, fit or unfit. The only good news is that the govt has said the premium is going to be light on them. How light and affordable is questionable given that they no longer have an income and with 30 or more years to live. Many young and able could not survive without a job for a year.
Cursed are those who have long life in this Sin City. Exceptions will be those with many properties or with a million dollar pension. Every oldie should be worried where to find the money to pay for Medishield Life premiums. No where to run, no where to hide. Beh Si premium scheme, is a payment that the oldies will have to pay for being alive. They are so lucky to have such a caring govt.

Syria - Western charade on a fleeing cause
The western media are all shouting at the top of their voices that Obama
is gaining support from the Americans at home and foreign leaders for
the impending attack on Syria. Even Putin, the adversary Number One of
the Obama Administration is claimed to be coming around. They even
quoted Putin as saying, Russia will support a UN Resolution to attack
Syria if there is watertight proof that Assad used chemical weapons on
his people. The media downplay the full text of what Putin said, that
‘he strongly warned Washington against launching military action without
UN approval, saying it would represent an aggression.
The implications of Putin’s statement is that the Americans must have near foolproof evidence which he knew would not be available as he already has in possession contrary evidence that the chemical weapons came from Saudi Arabia. Putin also knew that an UN approval is not possible with Russia and China holding two veto cards. The western media also avoided Putin’s threat of an all out invasion of Saudi Arabia if the US struck Syria against the UN Resolution.
So, how much support is Obama getting from the Russians or the international community other than France and maybe Australia offering some lip service?
But the cries of being on high moral ground continues. The world’s credibility is at stake, the American’s credibility is at stake, if Syria is not punished for using chemical weapons. Obama added that the line against the use of chemical weapons has been ratified by the world community through a chemical weapons treaty. Did the Americans sign this treaty?
Who is the biggest manufacturer of chemical weapons? Who has the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons? Who has been the supplier of chemical weapons to insurgents and countries at war? Who has used chemical weapons in warfare?
Who is the greatest hypocrite that demands no chemical weapons be used and fit the questions above to the T? If the USA is serious about banning the used of chemical weapons, they should ratify the treaty and ban the production and amassing of chemical weapons that they claimed to be so evil. They should start by destroying their stockpile and chemical weapons industry.
Why are the Americans producing and hoarding so much chemical weapons in the first place if they are not to be used? The credibility of the Americans is at stake if they did not dispose of their chemical weapons arsenal and did not stop producing and selling them.
Get off your high horse Obama. The world is watching you, Nobel Peace Prize laureate.
I wrote the above yesterday. In today’s Reuter report of the G20 summit, the truth is coming out. Obama is facing pressure from world leaders to stop his attack on Syria. Other than Russian and China, the EU and Pope Francis are against armed intervention. ‘The Pope urged the leaders to “lay aside the futile pursuit of a military solution”.’
The isolation of Obama and the USA is as clear as daylight. Obama is attending a meeting without the support of nearly every one of the leaders except France. And he is now relying on Congress to approve his attack of Syria, in violation and total disregard of the UN and international law. The aggressive and warmongers will not stop at anything except to go to war at their own terms. The warlike culture of the Americans, yes, ordinary Americans that support war is now being show case. The hideous Americans and their hypocrisy of a peaceful nation is there for all to see.

The cursed Singaporeans
Last night’s Channel News Asia talk programme on whether the govt has
alienated the PRs with the recent housing curbs and other measures drew
out one important and very basic issue, ie, a roof over the heads of PRs
and citizens. Having a roof over the head is so basic that it should be
provided by any responsible and thinking govt. There is no need to be a
super talent to even think of this. All the participants, locals and
foreigners, agreed that a roof is a basic need.
And they also agreed on another point. How could the govt brought in so many people without thinking of the basic infrastructure, especially housing? In whatever forms, housing is a must. And they too agreed it was due to the inept policy of not building. And now we have this very serious problem of housing prices that is going to be a curse to all those with a big housing loan.
In today’s Today paper, the writer, Ku Swee Yong, was talking about buyers taking up $500k loan for a 5 rm resale HDB flat or a $1.3m loan for an EC as if it is a monopoly game. A $1.3m loan over 30 years will come to at least $2m in total payment, just for a few pieces of mortars around a small space. How much do the bricks and cement, some wirings and fittings cost?
This is a general curse on the Sinkies who were made to buy public housing at such prices and to pay using a big chunk of their income, and praying that they would be earning that income for 30 years with both not losing their jobs.
The biggest group that is cursed is those Singaporeans that were barred from buying public housing through all the spurious reasoning. With private properties at more than a million, how could they force citizens to buy private properties and not be allowed to buy public housing that are also not cheap? And why should citizens be made to buy from resale market like PRs and pay another few hundred thousands more for the same flat? Any Singaporean that is not allowed to buy public housing is as good as being cursed when foreigners turned new citizens could do so.
The govt owes every Singaporean a right, yes the right to buy a public housing flat. The govt has a case to answer to these Singaporeans who are disallowed to buy public housing as the problem is caused by under building and nothing else.

Alienation of the oldies
Many of our parents and grandparents were ostracized or sidelined when
dialect was banned from SBC, from radio or TV broadcast. Their world
just closed down on them and they would have to go around finding people
who could talk to them in dialects. The grandchildren would be distant
aliens as they too did not speak dialects but English and Mandarin. The
Malays, Indians and Eurasians faced smaller problems than the Chinese.
With the stroke of a pen, a whole generation of oldies became foreigners
in their own country and in their homes.
It was a ruthless policy that was not phased in over a period of time. It just cut into their lives overnight. They were not prepared for the change, they were not integrated into the community but simply ex communicado, as simple as that. Who cared how they would cope or able to cope with the change? Were they provided with any alternative sources of information and entertainments over the air?
Soon we are going to see another batch of oldies going ex communicado. The Mediacorp is terminating the teletext services. No more information on TV for stocks, for airport arrival and departure schedules and no more what not that the oldies have become dependent on. The oldies are old dogs that managed to learn the trick of operating the remote controller to view the teletext. This could be the last trick they are capable to learn without straining the grey matter as many are computer illiterate or have not access to a computer.
The rationale for the withdrawal of the teletext services is that the advancement of technology has made such information available in many places and from service providers. The teletext is obsolete and need not provide such a service anymore. Those who need to read the teletext should be able to get their information from other sources. This is the biggest assumption which may not be valid.
Many of the oldiest could not handle the computer or smartphones or ipad. So, how are they going to get their information? Are they obsolete too and their interests no longer important? I bet many of the oldies and aunties are punting the stock market and are relying heavily on the teletext for stock quotes. Sure, they can always call their brokers for quotes. Telephone calls are free right? Wrong?
The brokers should be happy to hear their phone ringing when these oldies have to start calling them again. Only slight problem, many would feel pai seh calling their brokers every now and then without making any trades. With the teletext they could flip to their hearts’ content without disturbing anyone.
Now, would these old dogs want and can learn any trick, like operating the computers? If not, another piece of their world will be cut off from them. Who cares.

The West headed by America exploit the religious divide of the Middle-East countries.
The West headed by the Evil Empire exploit to the full endlessly the religious divide of the Middle -East countries.
Religion is only a belief and every individual should be free to believe in any religion he chooses and not be forced to believe in a religion dictated by the state or religious body. Religious leaders since time immemorial always make use of religion to
further their own end to grab political power and not because they sincerely and strongly believe in the God of their religion. With the people beguiled into a common faith or religion the evil political cum religious leaders will then exploit to maximum
psychological effect that the people and the leaders share the same destiny in their common identity and fate. Having grabbed both political and religious leadership these evil leaders will proceed to grab economic and financial power. and once this is
achieved they will thus have complete total authoritarian power and with that they can dictate or do any thing good or evil according to their whims and fancies.
Are the Middle-East countries cursed by their own Gods? It shouldn't be since they are bestowed by nature with abundant natural resources especially oil. Then why are they so divided and their history is one of tumultuous twist and turns especially
in this modern scientific era of great technological advances. It has got to do with their religious cum political leaders greed and creed. Aren't they all muslims following the teaching of the great founder. of their religion? They may belong to different
sects of Islam but still they are muslims and that's the important point. Then why are they so divided. It has got to do with what I have already pointed out . It is personal greed for power both religious, political cum economic and financial power. Thus
because of their own internal religious strive it lends itself to handy evil exploitation by the Western countries headed by the Evil Empire - USA. The West has been exploiting the Middle - East to the full for total control of its mineral resources
especially , oil. USA is able to do this because it sinisterly psycho one Middle-East country against another and in the end all the Middle-East countries are on each other's throats. The greatest traitor to the Middle -East cause is the King cum religious
leader of Saudi Arabia. The king of Saudi Arabia is so beholden to USA that he has no qualms in destroying his other Islamic or brethern Arab countries under the aegis of the Evil Empire.I can never understand why Saudi Arabia allows itself to be used
by the Christian West headed by America to create choas, distability and wars of destruction among the Middle-East Islamic countries . Instead Saudi Arabia should work cohesively with Egypt, Iran, Syria, Turkey and other Middle East countries
against the Western countries and drive these westerners forever out of the Middle-East. Turkey a more pseudo European country than islamic should be destroyed too.

How many casinos are there in Sin City?
Wrong, none of you would have guessed it. And I am discounting all the
back lane and illegal gambling dens. Two is absolutely wrong. I heard
this at a drinking hole and of course it is beer talk after some heavy
drinking. But not to worry, all were drunk but not drunk to the extent
of becoming incoherent. They were marbok but their mental faculties were
still clear.
One shouted, three, the stock market is the third casino. Everyone is punting with no regards to the fundamentals of the stocks. And it is not only the aunties and uncles, but the remisiers, the house dealers and the big funds, all engaging in pure gambling, a game of chance. Roll the ball and see where it lands, something like the roulette.
Not three but four, said another. How so, and he explained. Go to HDB and ballot for a new flat. $20 or was it $10 for a bet. If lady luck smiles, you get your flat and you are richer by a couple of hundred bucks at least in five years time. Many new citizens are doing it and hitting it rich.
Five, said another. Getting a COE is also like gambling. Sometimes you pay more, sometimes you pay even more. And sometimes, pay very little. Just hope for the best.
Six, I say six. This guy seemed to have just awakened from his drowsiness. Going to see a doctor is like playing monopoly. You pay and pay along the way. Sometimes pay more, sometimes pay even more. Sometimes pay when really no need to pay. Sometimes you pay to check if you are sick when you are not sick and you feel better after losing your money.
Then this motherly auntie raised her hand, seven, she said. The seventh casino is getting a place for your child in a top school. The chances are so small and sometimes people played dirty, or tilt the table in their favour.
It just seems like everything is gambling in this City. Ahem, one more, the General Election. After voting for your favourite party, you are not sure if you have placed the winning bet or the losing bet. You thought you have won when your favourite party won without knowing that you may lose your pants, or your money in your CPF.
Looks like every Sinkie is a gambler of no choice, from the children to the grandmother. And there is no need for exclusion orders. There is no escape. Wait till Medishield Life comes about. All losers.

Defamation defined - Law Minister Shanmugam
In his dialogue with Law Faculty students this was what Shanmugam said of defamation law.
‘Defamation laws, he said, are not there to stop people from criticising the Government, but exist to protect personal reputations.
"If you make a personal allegation of fact, if you say I took money, I am corrupt, I will then sue you and ask you to prove it. But if you say I am a stupid fool who doesn't know what I'm talking about, and the Government comprises ministers who don't know what they're talking about and you criticise every policy of the Government, no one can sue you," he said.
By all means challenge my competence, by all means challenge my policies, by all means put forward alternate policies. By all means argue it, no problem. That’s not defamation.’ ST 3 Sep 13
This is about the clearest definition on the govt’s stand on defamation laws here. This is also the opening up of a govt that used to be suffering from a hang up that no one should criticize the govt, no big no small, no respect for authority.
I fully agree with Shanmugam’s position on defamation and personal attacks on ministers or anyone. It is fair criticism on govt policies. I would not go so far as to call a minister a stupid fool. A little decorum will go a long way.
And as citizens, it is of utmost importance that they should be interested in the affairs of the state and should air their views on policies or decisions that they are not happy or disagree with. We need participatory citizenry for the good of the country. We can’t have a nations of droids, with no views or do not care a hoot what is going on in the country and to the people. The outcry against the influx of immigrants is a good sign that the citizens are taking ownership of their country and would not be push overs.
This explanation by Shanmugam is a welcome move, to clarify an invisible and moving OB lines. The people and those responsible for enforcing defamation laws would now be in a better position to know what is fair comment or what is defamatory, and to stay away from the law. The eyes will still be watching and defamation or no defamation critics should be careful for you do not know what could hit you next.
There is no need to get too personal for all parties when having a discourse on the affairs of the state. Isn’t this what the Govt has been clamouring for, wanting the people to stand for, to come forward to take a more active role in the affairs of the country?

Easy money for Medishield Life?
What is easy money? This is money made easily, with little effort. And
the saying goes, easy come easy go. Our govt’s revenue comes from many
sources, and some can be easily classified as easy money. Let’s not
breathe a word about the CPF. This is the people’s blood and sweat money
that they made working for it.
Easy money are those like COE premiums, gambling taxes from the casinos and the Tote Board, ERPs, and to a certain extent, profits from sales of HDB flats. The value of these easy monies is quite substantial, in the billions or more annually. Can some of these monies be put to good use like looking after the healthcare of the senior citizens? No I am not asking for the whole chicken, may just a drumstick.
How much will it cost to provide some basic coverage in healthcare for the senior citizens? This can be defined, without being extravagant. Minimum basic healthcare/hospitalization need not be too costly. As it is a welfare scheme provided by public fund, no one is going to complain about no airconditioning, no pretty nurses at their becks and calls, no top notch doctors or surgeons to treat their half a million dollar condition. Just provide the basic medical care for those seniors that needed healthcare or have to be hospitalized, to let them recuperate in the hospital beds with some peace of mind, they will be treated with some dignity and will not empty all their savings or forcing their dependents to empty their savings.
This is a social obligation that the govt could and should provide to the senior citizens that have in one way or another contributed to the growth and prosperity of the nations. It is mean and heartless to expect the oldies to pay for their health insurance when they are out of work and living on whatever that is left of their savings. We can’t be thinking of robbing the oldies of their savings can we? How creepy can people be to think that the helpless and needy oldies are easy target for the taking? Do not touch their savings in their Medisave.
By providing basic healthcare/hospitalization to the oldies using easy money, the scheme can be self insured by the govt without resorting to any insurance scheme. The cost with limited coverage cannot be so prohibitive when carefully defined, and without being misery.
Where is the heart? Easy money, easy come easy go. Where have these easy monies gone to? Using easy money for this noble and important service will be well appreciated and a worthy cause to put them into good use. Stop having more designs on the oldies and their monies in their Medisave, or expecting their children to foot the bills. Not many are ministers and earning million dollar salaries and can keep on paying and paying.

The fallen myth of super talents
The phrase super talents were brandished like a military colour about
two decades ago. When it was first broached as something like the
treasures of the country, 国宝, almost everyone believed in it, even the
people who came out with this great phrase. They sincerely and truly
believe that this country is so blessed with the super talents in
charge. And thus, being so super to the extent that some even thought
that they were immortals, 神仙, the chosen ones. And rightfully, being so
special, they need to be paid for their special talents as well.
Then we have it, even our junior ministers are paid more than the President of the USA. Our ministers and PM and the overworked President are paid many times more naturally. And all Sinkies were so proud to have another feather in the Guinness Book of Records for having the most highly paid politicians in the whole wide world. No one was complaining when things were fine.
Fast forward 20 years and today the term ‘super talents’ seems to have lost its lustre, its original meaning. How many Sinkies really believe that they are super talents? How many super talents really believe that they are super talents? This one I am not sure as only those who are branded as super talents will know.
Given their performances that often were pedestrian, given the fact that many a times they were lost as to what to do and needing the aunties and uncles and even school children to give them ideas, the phrase super talents takes on a strange meaning. It may be super talents in the sense that they know how to get solutions from the people, not necessary from their heads. Now this is a rare skill I am sure many will agree, getting paid in millions and asking the people for solutions.
The other point is that many Sinkies are having second thoughts that they are over paying super talents that are not super in their expectation, imagination and liking. The super talents are not seen as super talents anymore. The people do not believe so and many are questioning their abilities as super talents. One thing for sure, over the last twenty years, there were hardly anything that could make the super talents stand out as exceptional, in policies and decision making. They were very ordinary, like the ordinary Sinkies.
This is the picture of the super talent myth today. The bug bear now is that the super talents are still collecting their super pay and standing up like sore thumbs.
When you see a super talent you will know. When you see one that is not, you too will know.

Saudis Go On Full Alert As Putin War Threat Stuns Muslim World
By: Sorcha Faal, and as reported to her Western Subscribers
August 30, 2013
|
|
The Main Intelligence Directorate (GRU)
is reporting today that President Putin’s orders this week to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation for a “massive military strike”
against Saudi Arabia in the event that the West attacks Syria has “stunned”
the Sunni Muslim world and forced the Saudis to go on “full war alert.”
The Arabic Al-Ahd News Service
confirmed the Saudis war alert by further stating:
The GRU is also reporting today that
Pakistan’s largest religious-political party Jamiat Ahle Hadith (JAH) is now
threatening Russia too over Putin’s “war order” against Saudi Arabia,
and as we can read as reported by The International News Service:
This GRU report notes that both the
Saudis “war moves” and Pakistan’s “provocative threats” against
Russia are being engineered by Obama regime apparatchiks who now
control the largest secret intelligence organization ever created in modern
human history and which the Washington Post News Service, using top-secret
documents released to them by whistleblower Edward Snowden, reports cost
over $52 billion and employs over 107,000 spies….
Though not being told to the
American people by the Obama regime (or their propaganda mainstream media),
this GRU report says, the
unraveling of British support for the Obama regimes planned war against
Syria came after new reports from the Associated Press News Service revealed
that the chemical weapons attack being investigated by the United Nations were,
indeed from Saudi Arabia.
The American InfoWars.Com News
Service confirms this Saudi connection to chemical weapons being used in Syria,
and as we can, in part, read:
Important to note, and as we had previously reported,
Putin’s extraordinary “war order” against Saudi Arabia came after he
became “enraged” after his early August meeting with Saudi Prince Bandar
bin Sultan who warned that if Russia did not accept the defeat of Syria, Saudi
Arabia would unleash Chechen terrorists under their control to cause mass death
and chaos during the Winter Olympics scheduled to be held 7-23 February 2014 in
Sochi, Russia.
Prince Bandar went on to say that
Chechens operating in Syria were a pressure tool that could be switched on an
off. “These
groups do not scare us. We use them in the face of the Syrian regime but they
will have no role in Syria’s political future.”
Putin replied to Prince Bandar by
saying “Our
stance on Assad will never change. We believe that the Syrian regime is the
best speaker on behalf of the Syrian people, and not those liver eaters”
[Putin said referring to footage
showing a Jihadist rebel eating the heart and liver of a Syrian soldier HERE], and which Prince Bandar in turn warned that there can be “no
escape from the military option” if Russia declines the olive branch.
In spite of the truth of Saudi
Arabia and their terrorist allies being responsible for chemical weapons use in
Syria, this GRU report concludes, the Obama regime continues
on its path to war against the Syrian people in spite of it being illegal
under both United States and International law….

Super education for super kids
We have heard the parents and the educators. They want the best
education for the children. Everything that needs to be taught will be
taught. Our children are our future and should be the best they can be.
They will be taught the basic knowledge in schools. They would also be
taught the arts, music, and sports. They will also be mould with the
best values of good responsible citizens. In short, they will all grow
up in the best education system the schools can provide and will turn
out to be world best, short of being geniuses in every one of them. And
they will beat the rest of the world with their hands down, rounded in
every skill.
One little thought, while we aspire to have the best for the children, and wanted them to be the best, do they have the potential to be the very best? And at their tender age, how much can they really absorb or be taught, educated and trained to be what the system wants them to be? Children develop at different age and different paces. Some mature earlier than others. Some learn faster or earlier than others. How much can the system squeezed into them to be super beans?
The reality has proven otherwise. We have the best system for many years. We have the best trained teachers and the best equipped and furnished schools and environment. We have the money and resources, from the schools and the parents’ pockets to give to the children.
And what did we produce? Nothing better than children from Third World countries who did not have anything but merely the basics, a roof over their heads, rickety furnitures and poorly trained teachers. And they are producing all the talents that we need and filling up the top positions in our economy.
What happen to all our super all rounded kids? Where are they? Driving taxis or what? Or are they kept in the museums or in the Guinness Book of Records? Even Santos is better than our super kids.

The boy that cried wolf once too often
The British knew how silly they were when Blair conned them into
believing that Saddam Hussein had WMD in Iraq. Yes, they not only looked
silly but devious, hideous and guilty of war crimes against Iraq and
its people. The Germans too knew the silly episode and crimes against
the Iraqis but chose to keep mum. In fact many countries knew what it
was but kept silence, not a word to be breathed, not a word of
disapproval or condemnation for the dastardly act by Bush and Blair in
Iraq. That is the reality of this deceiving world of American and
Western make beliefs and agenda.
The whole world stood still with their mouth wide opened in amazement at the white lie the Americans and British made them to believe. No WMD in Iraq, foolish and silly fabrication of intelligence information that made the intelligence professionals of the two countries looked more like idiots or little incompetent children. Not a word of apology, not an uttering of remorseful or repentance. It happened, it’s over. We did it, so what can the world do about it?
Obama boy thinks he could pull it through a second time by crying wolf. He is still shouting and fabricating all the fake intelligence his little incompetent intelligence boys and girls thought would be good enough for the world to bite. The converts and those with no choice would just have to go along. In yesterday’s media report, the Americans were there, filming everything the Syrians were doing, from preparing the chemical weapons, talking over the air about the attack, to launching the attacks on the Syrian rebels. Yes, the Syrians were so dumb that the Americans were filming all their criminal acts without them knowing, or maybe with their approval.
I think Obama has gone one step better than Bush. Bush intelligence boys and girls were not in Iraq to film the WMD stores. Obama’s boys and girls were smarter, and were invited to do the filming to be used as proof for an American attack. Is this new truth or new fiction?
What is frightening is that he may be rounding up another group of Coalition of the Unwilling to invade Syria. How many innocent countries would be dragged into this murderous act, of killing Syrians for no reasons other than being told by the Americans to do so? And how many will be like eager beaver France, to want to be a part of the execution team, like a hunting party?
Have the nations of the world have enough of the insane wolf calling to conduct another genocide on the people of Syria, just because the Evil Empire dictates so? How many would believe the incompetent little boys and girls of the American intelligence services are telling the truth and not playing house?
The latest development with Obama backing off and seeking approval from Congress is a clear sign that he is not able to convince more than Hollandes and Cameron to do his bidding. And the rest of the world did not believe him anymore, and they would not go along, not even the British people. He knows that the game is up and it is better for Congress to say no than having a coalition of the USA and France, the former colonial master of Syrian that has an axe to grind, to want to control Syrian once more.
The premeditated assault of Syria is now not about chemical attacks, which they knew was hogwash, fabricated. It is now all about America’s might as the number One superpower, about its credibility to wage wars, about face, that it could not do what it likes, to punish other nations for not toeing the line, for defying the Empire. It is all about America and how it can behave like a gangster, like a rogue with immunity.
Not many Singaporeans seem to be interested in these world events as if they did not affect them. They could and have affected some Singaporeans with some becoming part of the Coalition of the Willings. One day, when Bush and Blair are indicted and charge for war crimes, all their accomplices would also stand trial for the same crime. The Americans are smart to implicate all their allies into their murderous act, the more the merrier and would take away a large part of the world from pointing the finger at them. You can’t accuse the Americans of war crimes when you are part of the team that killed.
Just hope they are not going to twist our Govt’s arms to send our boys to fight in Syria and be as guilty as them.

Obama , The Evil White Men's Guard Dog
Obama the guard dog
Who is Obama? What is he? Obama is a black or dark brown guard dog of African origin. He is an intelligent guard dog own by the Whites and the Jews in America. His masters and trainers are the warmongers in the White House, Congress , The Senate, CIA and The Pentagon. Like all intelligent guard dogs he is trained to carry out duties without question in the exact manners of his masters' wish. He seems to be proud of doing just that without thinking that he is only a prize object own by the West/USA in a psychological manner to hookwink the world that USA is now led by a coloured man to wage evil wars and aggression He is quite carried away in his being awarded the Nobel 'War' Prize and so he does not think or is unable to think that he is actually directed by his White Masters to carry out Wars of aggression against other non-white countries. He seems not to realize that the evil wars of aggression he is carrying out against non-white countries as directed by his white bosses is detrimental and humiliating to non-whites the world over including those from Africa where he is originated from. He either forgets or choose not to know that like his former ancestors from Africa he is only but a property of the White men who treat him as an intelligent trained animal to carry out duties of his masters. Obama needs to wake up and take after the footsteps of the great African American Luther King in fighting and gaining self rspect and dignity for blacks by rising against the Whites and in his case for the cause and dignity of all non-whites in the world.

A sick Sinkie joke
At least a million foreigners are working in Sin
City, and many are in top
management positions with some as CEOs. There were one or two cases where the
foreign CEOs actually misrepresented their qualifications to look very well
qualified. It was something like someone attending a 3 week or a month course
in Harvard and claiming to be a Harvard graduate. But his kind of
misrepresentation is nothing compared to those that came armed with MBAs or
other professional or expert qualifications or experience when they had none.
Recently the MOM announced that 25 foreigners, lauded as
foreign talents, were caught and charged in court and sent to jail. While many
cynical Sinkies were screaming that this is only the tip of the iceberg, it may
be the last time they are hearing foreigners caught faking their
qualifications. The rest of the FTs here are genuine and their qualifications
are indisputable, checked and confirmed to be true.
The way to get a job in the highly prized and well paid
professions is to mark up one’s qualification. To increase the chances of
employment, just add in a few more qualifications, maybe with the help of the
employment agents, or maybe the employers may assist the applicants to do so to
clear the MOM pass hurdles. This seems like fair game for the foreigners and
the punishment meted out, a few weeks in jail, is nothing and worth the gamble
when the returns and rewards were so handsome.
In the case of Sinkies, the opposite is true. More and more
cases of Sinkies downgrading or hiding their qualifications to get a lower
paying job are being discovered. I dunno whether to laugh or to cry? And they
got sacked for being dishonest, for being self deprecating, or for being
excessively modest with their academic achievements. This must be the character
trait of the Sinkies. Don’t tell people how good or how qualified you are if
you are Sinkies and applying for a job in Sinkie land. Only the foreigners can
do that. The foreigners will tell the world that they could even bring down the
moon if asked to.
What is the real damage in the employment scene? How many
foreigners with fake qualifications or make up qualifications that are employed
in high positions to boss over shy and timid Sinkies who had to hide their
qualifications and to work under those who are less qualified than them? How
many Sinkies with genuine qualifications from two of the world best
universities, the NUS and NTU and from foreign universities are working for
foreigners who are not qualified or who came from pariah third world unranked
universities?
The joke is on the Sinkies for supporting a system that
makes them pariahs in their own country. And they are being blamed with funny
names like PMETs, meaning pampered, mediocre, expensive and timid by our local
elite in the main media. And since no one in the govt came out to dispute this
obnoxious humiliation of the local PMETs, what do you think they are thinking
up there in the clouds? Do they agree or disagree with this new definition of
PMETs?
Santos J - Model PR
Santos, a PR
from the Philippines,
has written an appeal to Singaporeans not to be too harsh on them and allow
them to buy HDB flats from the resale market. And he has good reasons to say
so. One of the biggest and immediate gain for allowing PRs like him to buy HDB
flats is that the Singaporean owners will make capital gains, ie, they are
helping Singaporeans to make profits when they buy their flats. I can’t dispute
such a sound argument and Singaporeans got to be very appreciative of this
wealth creation opportunity provided by PRs. And don’t be envious when they
later sell it back to some Singaporeans to make some profits when they decide
to go home.
Santos has more
to add on his contributions and commitments to Singapore.
I quote,
‘Some of you asked about our commitments to Singapore.
I can say for certainty that my son will serve NS when it’s time for him to do
so.We are also sacrificing for Singapore.
My wife and I will prefer to remain as PRs because we have a sense of pride being citizens of our country. We were born and raised there. I hope you can understand our feelings for our country just like you have yours for Singapore.
As for my son, he will have to decide what he wants to be when the time comes. He is currently studying at a local school.
I appreciate what Singapore has done for my family.
I ask that you can please think of us PRs who are also struggling to help build your economy and your country. Thank you.
J Santos’
I must say that this is a genuine and passionate plea by a PR for the privilege and right to work and stay here and to help Singapore and Singaporeans in the process. And Singaporeans must take note that he chose to come here to help build our economy and our country. He kind of becomes a quitter of his country and kind of not wanting to help his country and his country’s economy. Now this is a big sacrifice for anyone to make for the sake of Singapore and Singaporeans. If Aquino hears this he will flip and may call Santos a quitter for sure, and a traitor if he stops smiling.
We should embrace such economic mercenaries who came here to help us. It is a pity that he still thinks of returning to the Philippines. If not, he would make an excellent candidate for political office, at least an MP. What a waste, no invitation for tea.
But do not be surprise that he would become the next poster boy, be invited and feasted everywhere he goes. Maybe he will be giving speeches to encourage more foreigners to send their children to do NS. I am simply touch.
If all the PRs think like that, we will have solved at least two problems, more recruits for NS and a growing economy. And not to forget, Singaporeans can make profits by selling their HDB flats to them.
I am going to ask for his autograph. First I must get a copy of his photo then he can sign behind it.

Big bucks no responsibility, no accountability
Taiwan’s
Defence Minister Kao Hua-chu resigned over the death of a national service man
who was punished for having a mobile phone with a camera.
‘Hung Chung-chiu's death sparked an outcry on the island, with thousands of protesters demanding an investigation.’ BBC. The tradition of Confucianist honour and accountability is still prevalent in Taiwan and the Minister Defence found it honourable and responsible to take the full blame for the death of the soldier. It has to be as the death was too big an issue to be swept under the carpet or to pass the buck down to the junior officers. To have a senior military officer to take the fallout was also found unacceptable. Only the Defence Minister was fit and appropriate to shoulder such a responsibility.
In today’s context, when children are sparse and few, and national service is a compulsion, not voluntary or an occupation, the seriousness of the death of a national service man is more pronounced and glaring. The parents sent their sons to be trained to defend the country, to die fighting for the country, not to die through negligence or abuse by his officers, or uncalled for accidents and mistakes.
The ministers or military officers of Taiwan are not paid outrageously well. To them, public service is an honour itself. And they take their jobs seriously and honourably and will own up and accept responsibility when it is due. It is not a case of collecting big bucks but with no responsibility or no accountability to failures or mistakes of their subordinates.
Say what you like, there is honour in the man (the Defence Minister) and honour in the service. Kao Hua-chu’s resignation brought respect to himself and to the Taiwanese govt. No matter how high is the position, no one escapes and can hope to walk away by patting his backside as if nothing happens when a serious mistake or failure occurred. High office and big pay must come with great responsibility and accountability. How nice if one can be sitting in high office, collecting big bucks and no need to be accountable for any failure or mistake.
Obama and Cameron face off in Syria
The lying and killing were executed by Bush and Blair and their councils of liars when they invaded Iraq, murdered Saddam Hussein and destroyed that country, killing and maiming hundreds of thousands of Iraqis in the process. Saddam Hussein would take many life times to do the same damage inflicted on Iraq and its people by the Bush and Blair team.
Today, history is going to repeat itself with Obama and
Cameron taking on the faces of Bush and Blair and using the same recipe of lies
and disasters. Everything is identical, the conspiracy, the mission, the
fabricated intelligence, the finger pointing and the players, except this time
the new victim is Assad, Syria and its people.
The best part is that these two clowns think that they could
pull off the same trick without needing to change the plot. It is easy for
Obama as the Americans, as a people, are war like in nature and always want to
go to war to claim victory and to celebrate the invasion and killing of
foreigners, in George Carlin’s words, brown people. They love it and have a
very high propensity to kill and destroy brown people while at the same time
claiming peace and for the good of the brown people. There will be little
pockets of Americans with a little conscience to shout no. This time the only
such voice came from brown Americans.
The world is not going to swallow the whole lie once again.
And the Brits are also not going to go through this farce without feeling
ashamed of themselves. The British Parliament has just shot down Cameron’s call
to attack Syria
under the same set of circumstances as Blair. They knew the lies and would not
allow Cameron to send British boys and girls to become murderers of brown
people. According to ST’s Europe correspondent Jonathan Eyal, ‘This is the same
inexplicable rush to war, the same refusal to wait for a report from United
Nations investigators, the same claim that Western govts “know” who is the
culprit on the basis of intelligence information which, of course, cannot be fully
revealed.’
Jonathan Eyal also quoted former British Foreign Secretary
Jack Straw, who was involved in the Iraq War, reminding the MPs of the perils
of going to war on fuzzy logic: “I know,” and “I have the scars.”
The Germans too learnt from the disgraceful Iraq War that
they would not be seen to be in the company of murderers and be made a fool and
accomplice of the crimes of murderers. They are staying neutral this time and
wanting to hear from the UN,
But there is an eager beaver who missed out the actions in Iraq
and wanted to be the cheer leader in Francois Hollande of France.
Hollande wanted to take the place of Blair in this new blood letting of brown
people. He said France is going to punished those responsible for using poison gas to kill hundreds of people. What would he do if it is proven that the chemical attack was done by the USA or its allies?
And of course the nit wit in Washington, a brown leader or is he black, will not have anything but his way, to drop bombs to kill more brown people like it is his right to do so. And the whole world should just shut up. How could they say no to a Nobel Peace Prize winner who wants to conduct more wars and kill more people? The world must be insane!

The most peace loving nation and people, led by a Nobel
Peace Prize laureate, are the most deserving people to wage wars, and the wars
they conducted are virtuous in the name of God and peace. Sorry brown people,
God is white.

Western hypocrisy - Killing the Syrians is playtime
Looks like we will be firing Tomahawk cruise missiles into Syria,
dropping bombs over their cities, and we can watch them live on TV with a
beer and sandwiches. Maybe hold a party and pop a few bottles of
champagne. This must be the greatest real life entertainment on earth,
better than Hollywood. This seems to be the mentality of westerners when
they talked about the impending invasion and bombings of Syria or any
country the Americans and the western powers have chosen. It seems that
it is their right to do so, that their reasoning, justifications,
intelligence reports, fabricated or truth, do not matter, cannot be
questioned.
Put it the other way, if another superpower and its allies are going to do the same to UK or Japan or another pro West country, would the western media write with so much comfort, and so casually like it is a non issue? And there are international laws to abide by, the resolutions of the UN, of the Security Council, which to the Americans are inconsequential. They are the judge and the executioner, the self appointed policeman of the world. They decide who is right and who is wrong and how they will deal with them. Period.
In an article by Hans Blix reposted from the Guardian in the Today paper, he questioned the rights of the American to act so unilaterally, as the policeman of the world and showing their middle fingers at the UN and world opinion. And what is at stake, chemical weapons. No, not chemical weapons but used of chemical weapons. The Americans and the West alleged that President Assad used chemical weapons against the rebels. They are not going to listen to the UN, presumingly an independent source or neutral to the civil war that have sent their officials to investigate the incident. The Americans and the western powers have judged unilaterally, using their own evidence. Assad is guilty!
The real culprits attacking the civilians could be anyone, Assad or the Americans and the western powers. The treachery and deceit of war are not so simple and cannot be taken at face value. Who is being framed? Who would benefit from this accusation is clear. It is the Americans and the western powers that can use it to attack and invade Syria. This alone is enough to tell the story and the truth. The Americans and the West are thinking that the Middle Eastern people and the people of the world are stupid and would accept all the shit they throw at them.
Chemical warfare is moral obscenity! Then who are the people arming the rebels with chemical weapons? Who are the people providing chemical weapons to Saddam Hussein to use against Iran? Who are the people providing chemical weapons to Osama and the Al Qaeda and the Talibans?
Why not ban chemical weapons totally and forbid any country to have them? Who do you think has the biggest arsenal of chemical weapons and producing and stockpiling them? They are hobbyists? They are spending all the money and resources, scientists and experts, all for fun, not to use them?
These are the same obscene people who talked about chemical weapons as moral obscenity. How believable are they? No need to guess who. And they are going to use their moral obscenity to attack Syria to kill more Syrians than those killed by the chemical weapons.
How much more and longer can the world live with this American and western hypocrisy? And they are claiming that they are not going to topple the Assad regime, not to tip the balance in the battle on the ground. Who are they trying to deceive? And their allies are singing the same tune, refusing to question if the chemical weapon attack got anything to do with the Americans and the West. Who is there to arrest these international gangsters? At the moment no one and the Russians too have to eat humble pie if the American led attack goes ahead. The Russians too cannot protect Syria despite Putin and all the tough talks and its interests being violated.
While the Americans and the western powers think they can hit Syria and Syria unable to hit back, Syria might as well take on a single country like Turkey or Israel and throw everything it has on one target. Turkey looks like a more attractive target to extract heavy casualties and damages.

Discrimination by majority rule
We are still hearing a lot of angry discriminatory remarks being hurled
every where about how the majority ill treated the minorities. I must
say that there are policies that are discriminatory in nature. There is
no denying that discrimination by the majority against the minorities
exists everywhere and in every country. The difference is only a matter
of scale and severity and also the reasons behind it.
There is some discrimination in govt policies towards the minorities in some areas for sure. To understand why it happened, one needs to understand the history behind some of these discriminatory practices and the necessity of it all then. One point that separates the discriminatory practices here from other countries is that it is not discriminatory by virtue of race or religion per se. The historical circumstances dictated that some policies were necessary as a matter of national security. Please feel free to disagree but let me explain.
During the days of Malaysia, our number one enemy was Indonesia. There was Confrontasi, with bombings in the streets and with commandoes dropping into Johore and if I can remember, in East Malaysia. It was war in a way, or the threats of war. There was hostility between the two countries.
Then we were separated from Malaysia in a not too amicable way. Malaysia became enemy number one with the hostility from Indonesia dying off. There were a lot of suspicion and mistrust and verbal warfare and agitation by the politicians.
These historical backgrounds led to the crafting of some policies that were discriminatory by any count but the reason was not racial or religious to begin with. Our relationship with Malaysia went on a roller coaster ride with a few ups and many downs. This in a way imprisoned the security mindset of the policy makers till today. We are having a lull, a good respite in our relations with Malaysia for the last couple of years. How long would it last and how quickly the relationship can turn sour is as fast changing as the weather as the source of acrimony between the two states is still there, and is unlikely to be removed for a long time to come.
Despite the so called discrimination, the country prospers in all fields and life is good to all the citizens, to a matter of degree. There is relativity involved with some doing much better than others and with some feeling that they could do much better without the discrimination. The reality is that life has improved for the majority and minorities and the economic pie is bigger to share around.
The composition of the population remains fairly similar from the days of independence. The Chinese are in absolute majority with the Malays, Indians and Eurasians forming the smaller minority groups. The circumstances leading to the migrants arriving in this island were mainly economics in nature. They came to eke out a better living and with many, particular the early Chinese and Indians, planning to return to their motherland eventually. The thought of permanent residence or becoming citizens were the furthest from their minds except for some who married the locals and had sunk roots here. The rest is history, and today they are citizens of this flourishing and modern city state.
The Chinese became a majority by chance, with no preconceived or preplanned intention to do so. It could be either way. The Malays could remain the majority with the rest as minorities. The Indians actually stood a better chance to be the majority by virtue of their closed association with the British colonial masters. The British were used to them and dependent on them for their administrative assistance and labour. If the British did not freely import the Chinese coolies here, the racial composition could be Indian majority and Malay minority or vice versa, and a trinkle of Chinese presence.
What would Singapore or Singapura be like if the absolute majority were the Indians or Malays? In all probability, Singapore would still be as prosperous as it is today, by fate or predestination. If the absolute majority is Indian, then it could be a mirror image of Mumbai or Kolkatta or another Indian city, an Indian PM and many Indian cabinet ministers and MPs. If the Malays were the majority, Singapore could be another image of a Malay city or state and the composition of the govt is likely to be Malay PM and Malay Ministers and MPs in the majority.
Now the interesting question, would the majority of an Indian or Malay state be less discriminatory as the Chinese majority state today? This is hypothetical of course. Would the Malay or Indian majority be as generous as the Chinese to their minorities? Would the Chinese as a minority plus the other minorities be hurling accusations of discrimination against the majority ruler? Would they be treated as fairly as the minorities of today’s Singapore?
What kind of Singapore would it be like? Would there be less or more discriminations on race and religion? What kind of economic opportunities would there be for the Chinese minorities?
PS. I hope we are mature enough to discuss this issue without resorting to name callings and behaving like mad dogs. Should this discussion go down the longkang when the insecure and extremists come in to mess up the discussion I would not hesitate to close down this thread. In a way this is a test on the maturity of the bloggers here, a small representation of the masses at large. Are we ready to discuss such issues?
