Anwar could bring a change to Malaysian politics. But in Malaysia, political leaders have to continue with special treatment for the Malays to remain in power, and Anwar is thought to be someone with a broader mind and that may marginalise the rights of the Malays.
Malaysia is descending into chaos in the days ahead. Not good for the country and for investors. Anwar's PH cannot agree with Muhyiddin. Muhyiddin's PN cannot agree with Hamidi. It seems Hamidi's BN cannot agree with Anwar after their recent meeting.
In any case, even with a coalition, there will be sabotaging ahead, just like in the past with Mad Hatter and Mud. Then Malaysians were ecstatic and talking about a new dawn that later turned into dusk.
And Mad Hatter is still demonising Anwar claiming that Malaysians do not like Anwar although Anwar thinks otherwise.
What about Mad Hatter himself, still trying his luck at 97, thinking that Malaysians still like him, yet his party, GTA, a pure Malay party, did not win any seat, with Mad Hatter losing his deposit as well. Very embarassing indeed.- Anonymous

Mad hatter has through out since 1998 try to block him to be the pm as he is the one that came up with this sodomy charges. Now that he is in power he should charge him also with sodomy thus destroying his legacy.

Throughout his rule as PM, no one had the gumption to investigate Mad Hatter. His pro Malay policy, using the NEP, made him almost a God, untouchable. He knew he will remain in power with the Malays eating out of his hand and supporting him. That policy will now last for eternity, as it is difficult or impossible to get rid of the crutch mentality extended to the Malays.
The real benefit of that NEP policy actually benefitted the top echelons of the UMNOputeras, turning them into billionaires and millionaires galore. And they had to continue supporting Mad Hatter, and they like it for sure. The grassroot Malays, well, like all others, benefitted from having the crutch to hold on, and picking up the chicken wings and feathers.
Badawi was probably a different kind of person, and therefore did not last, if I assume correctly. But passing the PM's position to Najib restored the mode of operation in UMNO and it was opportunity time for the UMNOputeras. But Najib was too quick on the draw, took too much risk, failed to cover his tracks, did not wash his dirty hands and mouth, and that made Mad Hatter jealous of his ballooning wealth. The rest is history, which Mad Hatter will write about for sure, if what he says is true.
That said, Mad Hatter was fortunate to have Anwar's wife and others giving him the support for his re-election and rise to power a second time. And that was the opportunity that he sought to put body and soul to bring down Najib. That was his sole objective and prerogative. And beyond that, Mad Hatter refused to pass the PM's job to Anwar as agreed. For all we know, the subsequent fiasco of people running away from the Alliance and leading to it's loss of majority power was probably instigated by someone to prevent Anwar's rise by all means. Who benefitted most out of that?
Of course, now that Anwar is the PM, it will not be an easy minefield for him to tread. A coalition is always a fragile arrangement and any dispute between the parties will lead to trouble. Who and what position in Government will be shared is already one problem to be solved for Anwar? Hope it all ends well.
Just to add that the above position is taken with the approval of Singapore Kuda Club council thus reflecting out organisation position on this issue.
