Ukraine - International law is a crucial element

In an article in ST Tommy Koh was quoted with this remark, 'International law is a crucial element - Russia, which has waged wars against its neighbours and seized their territories, must not be allowed to prevail Ukraine.'

This motherhood statement should apply to all invaders of foreign land, and the Americans and the West are no exceptions. The American and western invasion of Iraq and Syria are still going on. No one is saying anything about these invasions and whether they should be allowed to stay in these countries forever. The Americans and the West have given up their invasion of Afghanistan and fled with their tails between their legs. Thanks to the determination and fighting spirit of the Afghans not to be subdued and be colonised by foreign powers. But no thanks to any righteous bleeding hearts as none came out to talk about their plight, the massacre of innocent poor Afghans, women and children and old folks under the wild and fake excuse that they were a threat to the mighty USA!

When would western media be talking about the eviction of the illegal wars and occupation of Iraq and Syria? Both these govts have told the Americans and the West to get lost, to get out of their respective countries. But why is it that there is no one talking about getting the Americans and the West out of these countries? Or is it that only the Americans and the West can invade and occupy foreign countries and everyone should shut up or look the other way, see nothing, hear nothing, do nothing and say nothing?

Why the preoccupation of Russia in Ukraine when the real reason for the invasion was to prevent a genocide of Russian speaking Ukrainians that was on going for 8 years, and a real security threat to Russia with Nato troops along its borders and with biochemical weapon labs ready to lob pathogens into Russia? Why no one open his big golden mouth to talk about it?

Where is the threat from Iraq and Syria to the USA? Haven't it been proven that there was no WMD in Iraq? Why are the American and western soldiers still fighting and occupying Iraqi land? Why are the Americans still in Syria supporting terrorist groups fighting a legally elected govt?

How justified and morally right or legally right for the Americans and the West to be in Iraq and Syria?

Silence is golden. No western media would want to ask these simple questions. No reports, no one would hear about them. But thousands of bombs are still being dropped in these two countries and thousands of Syrians and Iraqis are dying and no one seems to care. The dying, the dead are not blond and blue eyes, but Arabs and Muslims.  So it is ok?

Where is the international law on these two wars?

Tommy Koh just woke up from his long slumber and he did not know about Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yugoslavia. I would think that he, like most Journalist, just makes selective comments regarding who should do this and not do that. What did he have to say about the USA's and NATO's invasion of those countries and laid them to ruins.

In other words, under his interpretation, what the Anglo Saxons did all over the world against minor countries is acceptable under International Law, but not for Russia to do that in Ukraine is the only one against International Law. He should just keep his trap shut and not try to teach grandmothers to suck eggs.

If International Law is crucial element, why is he not talking about the USA's unilateral 'Rule of Law' hubris that plans to hijack the UN International Law?

DOES HE UNDERSTAND LAW PER SE ??

Now we know why all those Professors, University 'Pharaohs', Analysts and Experts are losing their credibility in the eyes of the discerning readers and those that care to look elsewhere for the truth. Not the sanitised truth fabricated by the USA and the West. Not that I am going to talk about Iraq again. That was a perfect example of distorted truth, created, sold and delivered by the USA with the blessing of British Intelligence. Talk about British Intelligence, what a joke.

Ahh, a Law Professor, with all the credentials, but from comments above, he failed to convince most with his lawless talk and direction.

Why no talk about Israel occupying most of Palestine land and keeping the Palestinians in concentration camps that are worse than the American reservations? The Palestinians in West Bank and Gaza strip lost their freedom to live a normal free life, no economy, under locked down by the Israelis occupying and controlling their land.

Why no condemnation of Israel?

There are lots of war crimes and human rights abuses worth reporting besides Ukraine. Yemen is said to be one of worst case of war crimes committed by Saudi Arabia, supported by the USA initially.

There was never a squeak on MSM, the UN and ICC. All sleeping, but suddenly all widely awake and digging inside Ukraine for Russian War crimes accusation. I am sure they will come out with some narrative by hook or by crook.

American owned NGO aka UN, is sending a team to investigate crimes against children in Ukraine. Wow this NGO waking up to do some work. What about children in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, in Afghanistan, children of migrants entering USA, children in Iraq, Syria, Yemen, Somalia?

He should highly respected and
Knowledgeable man , but he said in the article is so naive, it is not a proxy war, it quite obvious that US
make use of Ukraine to fight a war with Russia

US Secretary Blinken: "Six years ago today, an Arbitral Tribunal rejected the PRC’s expansive South China Sea maritime claims as having no basis in international law. We stand by our ally, the Philippines, in defending its rights and in opposing the PRC’s provocations and intimidation."

Beijing's response: "China didn't participate in that lawsuit and didn't recognize that ruling. It has no binding power on China. You knew it. This is a meaningless gesture from the US which is as ineffective as the moaning of a Fox News commentator."

Former senior U.S. official John Bolton admits to planning attempted foreign coups - July 12 (Reuters)

John Bolton, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations and former White House national security adviser, said on Tuesday that he had helped plan attempted coups in foreign countries.

Bolton made the remarks to CNN after the day's congressional hearing into the Jan 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Speaking to CNN anchor Jake Tapper, however, Bolton suggested Trump was not competent enough to pull off a "carefully planned coup d'etat," later adding: "As somebody who has helped plan coups d'etat - not here but you know (in) other places - it takes a lot of work. And that's not what he (Trump) did."

Tapper asked Bolton which attempts he was referring to.

"I'm not going to get into the specifics," Bolton said, before mentioning Venezuela. "It turned out not to be successful. Not that we had all that much to do with it but I saw what it took for an opposition to try and overturn an illegally elected president and they failed," he said.

In 2019, Bolton as national security adviser publicly supported Venezuelan opposition leader Juan Guaido's call for the military to back his effort to oust socialist President Nicolas Maduro, arguing that Maduro's re-election was illegitimate. Ultimately Maduro remained in power.

"I feel like there's other stuff you're not telling me (beyond Venezuela)," the CNN anchor said, prompting a reply from Bolton: "I'm sure there is."

Many foreign policy experts have over the years criticized Washington's history of interventions in other countries, from its role in the 1953 overthrowing of then Iranian nationalist prime minister Mohammad Mosaddegh and the Vietnam war, to its invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan this century.

But it is highly unusual for U.S. officials to openly acknowledge their role in stoking unrest in foreign countries.

"John Bolton, who's served in highest positions in the U.S. government, including UN ambassador, casually boasting about he's helped plan coups in other countries," Dickens Olewe, a BBC journalist from Kenya, wrote on Twitter.

Singapore also illegally stolen from Malaysia for measly 20,000 silver coins. Sooner or later Malaysia will want Singapore back. They are playing the long game like China. Over the next 100 years, more of your descendants will go back to China or migrate to Oz or US. Then Malaysia will take back Singapore.

Get your historical facts right. Indeed the Brits stole Singapore from Malaya.

But Singapore was returned to Malaya in 1963 to be part of Malaysia.

Then in 1965, Malaysia allowed Singapore to be an independent country. Period.

Don't try to distort history by misinformation.

SINGAPORE —

Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa is set to fly to Singapore after fleeing to the Maldives on Wednesday morning (13 July) amid continuous protests in Colombo, according to a Reuters report, citing a government source in Sri Lanka.

Apparently, the plane in the expelled ex-President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was fleeing Sri Lanka had been approved by the Transport Minister, his own protege.

After searching for an ideal place to locate his ill-gotten wealth, the ex-President has found Singapore to be the best country that is able to offer him safety and security. He must have been very busy transferring all his money from Sri Lanka to Singapore in the last two days?

Just wonder how much money has he parked in Singapore?

By the way, all his money are dirty and filthy money, but never mind, Singapore would be most happy to allow him to park his filthy wealth here. don't you think so?

Maldives –

Maldivians woke up on Wednesday to the news of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s surprise arrival on a pre-dawn flight, sparking a fierce backlash as the Maldives government was accused of helping the disgraced leader escape justice.

Rajapaksa fled to the neighbouring Indian Ocean archipelago hours before his promised resignation over Sri Lanka’s worst economic crisis in decades. The 73-year-old flew on a Sri Lankan Air Force plane with his wife and two bodyguards to the Maldives capital, Male, the Sri Lankan Air Force confirmed.

On Wednesday afternoon, a group of Sri Lankan expatriates protested at the artificial beach in Male, carrying a banner that read: “Dear Maldivian friends, Please urge your government not to safeguard criminals.”

If the Maldivians do not allow Maldives to harbour criminals, how then can Singapore allow ex-criminals to land within its' shores?

That's an interesting question. How can?

Anyone who has been in power for too long (how long is too long?), is bound to accumulate tremendous wealth, usually ill-gotten wealth, for himself and his family. That's what political power is about.

Anyone who has not acquired any wealth, like the South African Prime Minister Mandela, is worthy of praise and salutations.

That's why most politicians are in some way connected and interconnected with legal and illegal means, in one way or another.

In many of such cases, the politicians will appear to look good, do good and do for the masses. But, in reality, usually behind the scenes, they are actually no better than the lowest scumbags that appear in the streets.

Such are the politicians we are dealing with and shall be dealing with for ever and ever.

Unless and until we can have a political system that is run by non-bias robots. But the robots must be highly intelligent and neutralized, to the extent that corruption has become a taboo subject in its core.

What do you think?

Putinator: 'NATO, you ain't see nuthing yet.."

“Today we hear that they want to defeat us on the battlefield, well, what can I say, let them try. We have heard many times that the West wants to fight us to the last Ukrainian – this is a tragedy for the Ukrainian people. But it looks like it’s all coming to this. But everyone should know that, by and large, we haven’t really started anything yet.”

“They should have understood that they have already lost from the very beginning of our special military operation, because its beginning means the beginning of a radical breakdown of the World Order in the American way. This is the beginning of the transition from liberal-globalist American egocentrism to a truly multipolar world – a world based not on selfish rules invented by someone for themselves, behind which there is nothing but the desire for hegemony, not on hypocritical double-standards, but on international law, on the true sovereignty of peoples and civilizations, on their will to live their historical destiny, their values and traditions and build cooperation on the basis of democracy, justice and equality. And we must understand that this process can no longer be stopped.”

Geopolitically and geoeconomically, Russia and China are in the process of eating NATOstan alive – in more ways than one. Here, for instance, is a synthetic road map of how Beijing will address the next stage of high-quality development via capital-driven industrial upgrading, focused on optimization of supply chains, import substitution of hard technologies, and “invisible champions” of industry.

Those Ukrainians fighting the Russians are Nazis.
The AngloSaxon tribes are supporting two of the worst savages, the Jews killing white supremacist Nazis and the ambitious fascist Japanese aiming to conquer and rule the world. And wanting to rearm to pursue this dream.

After fighting the Russians in Ukraine and after Ukraine, they will be fighting in Europe and USA. Bet on it coming their way. With all the weapons that they now have, there will be more ways to skin the White cat.

This is what you THINK.

Don't be surprise at what many people in M'sia and Indo REALLY think.

When it comes to beliefs, there is no logic & no facts. Only what the masses believe & want.

Count yourself lucky.

The only thing between S'pore & those 2 countries is a $25B-a-year SAF and ISD.
