For the first time, KKH to study whether long COVID is a problem in children in Singapore
SINGAPORE: Some studies overseas have put the prevalence of long COVID in children at anywhere from 4 to nearly 60 per cent of those who became infected with the virus.
But in Singapore, such a study — which would help to better manage children here who have had COVID-19 — has not been done yet.
That is about to change. KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH) is planning to embark on a study to determine whether long COVID is indeed a problem in young children and teenagers in Singapore....
“We do know that long COVID might potentially be a problem in children,” said KKH consultant Li Jiahui, who specialises in paediatric infectious disease. Hence the coming study will be “important”, she noted....
The study comes in the wake of the Omicron wave having seen children contract COVID-19 at the highest rate among all age groups in Singapore. For example, between December and February, around 27,000 children aged five to 11 were infected with the virus....

I must commend our forward looking, pro active approach for taking this unprecedented step to do studies on long Covid effects in children. Yes, must nip the problem in the bud. They have finally stop relying on the Americans to feed them with all the data or selected data now that Pfizer has been ordered by the American courts to produce all the data that they refused to show to their own Americans and the world. Better late than never, and it is good to do our own study. I hope this plan, still a plan, not sure when it would be put to action, would materialise one day. Maybe already started.
And there are very good reasons to do our own studies. Because what could affect the Americans may not be applicable to us Asians and we need accurate representation of long Covid in children in Singapore. This is brilliant! I could never had thought of this. Here is the report in CNA.
'Most of the studies of long COVID in children are from the West, she noted. And their findings “may not be entirely applicable to our context” and may not give an “accurate representation” of long COVID in children in Singapore.
For one thing, Asian children may show particular symptoms differently. “Secondly, the symptoms may be partly attributable to various factors such as lockdowns, social restrictions, safe management measures, which differ from country to country,” she cited.'
Let's wait for the plan and study and the results. I think it would be good for the children of Singapore. At least we need not have to rely on foreigners' second hand reports or what foreigners thought fit to show us, what they wanted to show us and not knowing what they did not want to show us.
This is good, surely.
Can Singapore just do it instead of planning to do it?

Actually just rely on American reports is the easiest thing to do. No need to sweat the small stuff. And the Americans know best, are the best. See how successful is their Covid19 endemic. Only 84m infected. And their vaccines world best. Just booster after booster, everything will be fine.
Unlike China, Shanghai is having very serious problems, 160 cases a day! So many! Shanghai losing control of the situation.
If only Shanghai relax the rules and open up, then the problem will be as good as the Americans and can become endemic. No need to worry and no need to work so hard. Just live with the infection and everyone will be happy.
It is only a problem when China wants to keep the infection at zero.
It is not a problem if China follows the American way, 84m cases also no problem. Just say it is not a problem and everyone will accept it as no problem.
It is just in the mind. A numbers game.

Long COVID problem is prevalent in adults as well, but never admitted. This is not fake news. Close relatives and friends who had COVID are still suffering the after effects. Say it to the authorities and they will accuse us of kpkb for nothing. Oh, by the way it is always inherent health problems that is the cause. Some sufferers even had other serious problems surfacing eg cancer and heart problems after COVID vaccinations. Oh, that is just coincidence.
Vaccines no longer prevent infections as most vaccines are supposed to do. So, what else can we do? Yeah, living with the virus is the call by the powers that be. They will tell us it is not a problem.
After letting in all the foreigners to infect Singaporean children, now then they conduct study . . .
This is the reason why pharmaceuticals are tested for several years before they are approved. My uncle had lung cancer and when all treatment did not work, he was finally given a drug which worked very well for Japanese women. It must have taken years and multiple testing for the pharma companies to discover that the drug worked very well for such a small group of people.
Those oldies that had been vaccinated with smallpox are safe from monkeypox at the vaccine is found to still be effective after more than 40 years have passed. And today we have the pharmas lying to the people that the mRNA vaccines worked only for a few weeks.
Actually this is a white lie. The pharmas knew that every time a person gets a jab, the mRNA will activate the body to produce more mRNAs and then more antibodies. But after a few weeks, when the antibodies have got rid of the mRNAs, the body would not produce anymore antibodies.
So the count of antibodies during the few weeks would be higher to give an impression that it is effective and then ineffective when the body stops producing more antibodies.
The need for booster jabs after booster jabs is a lie.

Chinese social media users are speculating the US could be the source of monkeypox infections now reported in at least a dozen countries, including the UK, Spain and Australia.
The viral infection has been highlighted as a trending topic on popular social media platform Weibo for the past three days.
Maybe citizen should use common sense.
For country such as Singapore where dictatorship is running the country, and running the whole country as business, what is probability that this government will shoot themselves in the foot by conducting the study ? Since when the government is serious when it comes to truth that will hurt them ?
Didn't we see what happen to Tommy Koh ? He has the stat showing that the poor suffer, but yet kena shoot down, and now rather collect millions as a mouse.
Are we naive to believe that there is no side effect or long-term damage using vaccine ?, and if so you believe the government will do the right thing to admit that vaccine has long term consequence, and bear the cost and lose the election ?
I rather believe that elephant can fly than believe those government crook.
Everyone laughing at China, but what did you know, just look around you and ask any person, left and right, most likely told you that they already kena covid before, and no one give shit anymore because by now more than half the population already kena the virus. No more testing required, because vaccine taken, whether vaccine effective or not, no one give shit anymore. Any side effect or damage, or death done by vaccine, just blame on medical condition. Problem solved.
They probably had in mind to use Monkeypox to infect just non whites, like COVID19, but mixed up the colours. Now it is infecting only Whites. LOL
Does anyone even have faith and trust in their studies? Only those who wag their tails will trust without a doubt! Have we not seen those 'lying experts' heavily featured in ChannelNewsAmerica upholding their narratives and often aggressively barking at dissenting opinions. No way I will ever trust their studies. If anything, their solution will probably be 'more boosters'!
Follow the Americans, never wrong. If wrong, just say, the Americans said can what.

It has been acknowledged that the Covid19 vaccines have been the most profitable business of the century, other wars.
So be prepared for another vaccine for white monkeypox that would come with at least 3 shots plus many many boosters.
