Shane Todd saga continues
There were signs that Todd was going home, resigned from this job and a new job awaiting. He was selling his furniture, another sign that things were quite normal. There were also evidence that he was depressed, seen a shrink, unhappy with his job. His depression was confirmed by his girlfriend.
There were allegations that he was working on something secretive that could compromise US interest. There were official statements that what he was doing was of no high sensitivity or secretive in nature, not something that would have warrant the CIA or other intelligence agencies to raise an eyebrow.
There were allegations that two Chinese companies were involved in what Todd was doing, gallium nitride, and would want him dead? Now what was Todd doing or what he knew that was so sensitive or dangerous to put his life at stake?
The pathologists have examined his dead body and concluded that it was suicide. The counter evidence brought up by the veterinarian alleging murder was found to be normal in a suicide case and he had withdrawn that statement.
The Singapore police and pathologists have made their findings. Are they supposed to go around looking for evidence of suicide? Or would it be better that the world class, best in the world FBI or CIA help out in this case to find some leads to prove that Shane Todd was murdered? Their superior skills and technology and their international coverage would put them in a better position to discover more of what Todd’s parents would want to hear.
I hope the US Govt will chip in, put in some of their experts to help the Todd family to bring a closure to this case. Our police and judiciary system are not dependable and this was what they said, "We no longer have confidence in the transparency and the fairness of the system. It appears to us that the outcome has been pre-determined," the Todds said in the statement read out by their lawyer, Gloria James-Civetta.
Given the lack of trust in the Singapore system, it is best that the Todds rely on their ever trusting, fair and transparent American system to do them justice. Whatever the Singapore side has to say and not what they want to hear will be unfair and unacceptable. Let’s hope the American Govt and system will make the Todds happy with their findings. And let’s hope there will be lesser accusations based on hearsays

Mary Todd is a pastor. She does not trust our legal system. I suppose she trust other pastors like Kong Hee and Sun Ho. I suppose pastors are more trust-worthy.

Since they said he's murdered, they should be the one producing evidence to prove their statement. I don't think it's necessary for US govt to 'help'. I think the Todds' should be taught about respect. Their arrogance and negative remarks about our judicial system are not acceptable. Basically, they just look down on us Asians. Tsk..

In today New Paper, this Dr Cubillo testified that Dr Lo has asked for the files which are the complete design of a chip.
If this Shane guy got this chip, then what's the hell they still researching for????
This Cubillo guy, I think is sneaky in secreting recording a session of the meeting with this Dr Lo.
At a certain point, he said his handphone did not record the section of what Dr Lo told them to modify their statements as the memory ran out.

Likewise, the Todds insisted that - die die must be murder, even when their star witness turned out to be a vet, retracted his "fact" that Shane was garrotted. When the new witness contradicted the Todds that he had met Shane just before he died, they decided to walk out of the courts. Something must be seriously wrong with the Todds.
Ya, let the FBI and CIA do the investigation. I am aure they will find new clues to support their claims.

My take is the todds side so far did not produce credible evidence n I blief our police is professional in this case ....
Strangely our govt is so gracious to reopen the case n yet todds family rudely walkout midway .... our taxpayers got "murdered" instead .

There is nothing gracious or not gracious about this case. You think Todd is stupid people who can be bullied like sinkies , like opp party in parliament ? These US people have been asking questions but yet did not receive answer just like the Aimgate.
Remember up to now, the motive behind so called todd's suicide is not considered other than depression ... so all stressful people suffer from depression ... anyone remember Ravi lawyer in the Hougang election, did depression make him crazy ? So stop pulling a fast one.

The Coroner Inquiry on the Todd case is still on-going and there is much discussion with comments here, I wonder if it all amount to "contempt of court"? If the judiciary pretend not to know what's going here or choose to close a blind eye, then it's really a mockery of the rule of law here. No wonder the Todds declared that they lost faith in our court system. Sigh! Langgar !

Don't you think it is funny ? When you agree with court , it is not contempt of court, but disagree over the finding based on your own judgement and opinion , it is contempt of court ?

first of all, all angles should be considered for this case, including the state of mind of shane todd, not just simple sign of suicide ... otherwise why bother ?
the truth is we are not dealing with sinkies who pretty much assign to their own fate, we are dealing with todd who need convincing and go all the way to pursue their justice, so please stop all the nonsense that Amercians are bad, they hide this and that, they create war, , just be rational , and consider the angles with all evidences in place in focus of these trial, leave the politics out.
Put in yourself in Shane todd and see if you will do what todd will do. this is what top investigators will always try to do with many possibilities and angles, not just consider depression and suicide , understand ?
as much as i disagree on some shabby work by todd's family, i find some finding so dubious and laughable because it is unbelieveable.
The things we said here are so far public knowledge and I doubt it is contempt of court. So far I don't think there is anything substantial to have any impact on the case except for the conduct of Todd's family.
Personally I would think examining the two suicide notes could be crucial to know something more. They are hard evidences and can be proven to be true or false. There are many experts that could examine them and make a reasonable finding.
How about mockery of human intelligence not to raise questions but rather fixated on predetermined outcome ?

As I have said several times, this case is about truth, whether Shane Todd committed suicide or was murdered. It is also about sovereignty, that we are an independent country and we have our laws and our govt. No country can come in and interfere with our domestic affair.
The Todd is taking their case to Congress, seeking a congressional inquiry. So what?
Is Shanmugam or Hsien Loong strong enough to tell the Americans to lay off, we have given them enough face? Or are the Americans going to walk all over us?
We have told the Americans off in the Michael Fay case. We even exposed American interference and espionage against us in the early days.
Are we more independent today or have we really a stooge of the Americans? We have to wait and see what and how the Americans are going to do with this case.

The police had put up an elaborate story of how Shane was depressed and suicidal while he worked at IME. So what happened after that? He resigned from IME. He got a job back in America. He was all packed and ready to leave Singapore. Where is the depression and suicidal thoughts now? Are Singaporeans blind?
It must be so obviously clear to everybody that the reasons for depression and suicide were all defeated when Shane was able to leave IME and return to America. Why can't Singaporeans see through the ruse?

My question is - if Shane had to build his own hanging apparatus, where is the evidence that he had bought the drill / bolts / pulley system? Does he have a purchase receipt? Is the drill still around? Which hardware or DIY shop will come forward and say they have seen him buying the equipment?
I hope people will read this before they comment anymore on the article and news - The Todd family are just parents who lost their child to suicide and depression. This is not about Asians and non Asians, or America and Singapore. This is about a devastated Mom and Dad who lost their child.
It's much easier for them to blame the system, blame the companies, blame the government, etc., than it is to accept the fact that their little boy is not here anymore.
I think that's what happened, and I hope that people in Singapore don't think that people in the U.S. look down on anyone. Singapore rocks!
