Race and racism continue to be the thinking in Malaysian politics
One week after the GE, after BN survived a close shave, losing the majority in popular votes but still winning the election to form the next govt, the UMNO controlled media, Utusan Malaysia, is still attacking the Chinese minority for voting along racial lines. What happened in the election was that many Chinese votes went to DAP instead of MCA. So this is unacceptable voting along racist line.
What happens if the Chinese votes go to MCA instead? Would this be voting along racist lines too? What is the difference? MCA is part of a Malay majority BN, so voting for MCA is not racist as MCA supports BN’s Malay dominance govt?
The DAP supports a coalition PR that in a way is also a Malay dominant party with Anwar as the leader and the potential PM. And PKR and PAS are mainly Malay parties. DAP is thus a small component of PR, supporting two Malay parties, one a staunch Islamic party. So why is voting for DAP racist and voting for MCA not racist?
The playing up of the race card by Utusan Malaysia may be more than meets the eye. If this stirring of racial emotion is not stopped, it can turn into a fire. While Najib is talking about a reconciliation, the tone and issues highlighted in Utusan is taking a different direction. Who is in control of Utusan Malaysia to dictate the direction it should take? Is Najib in control and allowing this trend of argument to perpetuate and driving a dividing wedge along racial lines in Malaysian politics? Or someone is taking control of the media and running it differently from Najib’s line and the direction he wants to take?
Whatever, for whatever purposes, hopefully the race card is taken out of the picture fast. Allowing it to foment and to simmer is not healthy.

Wah. Malaysia got racist mainstream media corporation?!?
Awesome lah!
Are we to conclude that Dr M is an Asian mat kontol version of Adolf Hitler?
Whilst Hitler was bold and present, Dr M (actually an Indian masquerading as a Malay) is sneaky, lo-profile, lead from behind like the craven coward he really is?
Chinese businesses should do an 'Atlas Shrugged' -- close shop and go on strike fro 1 month. See what happens to those fucking Bumi's then. :-)
Have a happy racist day!
From way back in 2011
Money and elitism continue to be the thinking in Singaporean politics.
The Best Article so far on the Subject of the Race Problem in Malaysia.
The Malaysians are one very Blessed Citizenry in the World. To continue enjoying the nature endowed fortunes of the Land, the Malaysians have to ensure peace and stability. When they can maintain peace, prosperity will follow to benefit all the Races that make up the Population.
Najib could be a victim of plot to him him replaced, he got to do his best to avoid it. And to do so, he must do his best to keep Malaysia in peace and stable.

That goes to show that even if there is a fine line drawn to prevent citizens from touching issues along race and religion, it does not mean no problem exists.
On the contrary, the problem just festers under the surface and will explode in a violent manner like a pressure cooker if the steam is not released. So, if a Government says you cannot talk about race and religion, it is just sweeping the issue under the carpet. Sooner or later, someone will lift up the carpet and find that the problem is even worse than it originally was.

What BN Najib say is not wrong. But he presented a lopside view. The Urban Malay also tsunami to opposition.
I am only care about facts.
Patriot, agree, good article. Buy him some kopi.
Kopi for you RB.
Najib should sack his propaganda manager for trying to ruin him with racism. Time for a one to one fight with Dr bigMouth.
By the look of things, someone is setting the agenda, not Najib, whose position is in jeopardy.
In some country, whence the carpet or the cabinet is open up, the dirt underneath or in it will be worse than H7N9. It will take a long time for the viruses to be cleared. By then many would have been affected and suffered. Much effort will have to be expend on it.
Sinkies have to prepared for such happening.

Some time ago, malaysia was part of indonesia and so was singapore. Thanks to the dutch and british, we are now separated. If they want to trace by race, they should give themselves a good kick in the ass and return to indonesia.
Sometime ago, there was no Indonesia or Malaya as countries. There were no govt of such countries before the european arrived. There were clusters of islands in the whole area and no one knows who and where and the number of islands in the region.
Indonesia was created by the Dutch by gathering all the islands as Dutch colonies. Malaya too was collected by the British including Borneo, Sarawak and all the islands as British colonies. Tried figure out or search history book and see if there were such countries and govts before colonialism?
