How would it be like when no one dares to eat seafood? This is going to happen when the evil and irresponsible Japanese start to dump the contaminated radioactive water into the Japanese sea. The first thing to happen would be the poisoning of marine life in the seas around Japan and gradually spread to China, Korea, South East Asia, the Americas and the rest of the world.
For a start, because of the concentration of the contamination, the effect would be more severe on the marine life and fishes around Japan. Japanese could be the first to eat them but likely they would avoid them for good reasons. Those who dare would be the first to be diseased. It only needs to take a few cases to frighten the shit out of every Japanese and more and more would for their own safety avoid fish and seafood caught in the seas off Japan. This news would start to trickle across Japan and the rest of the world that seafood is dangerous and poisonous. For safety reasons, more and more people would avoid seafood. When this scare news hits the headlines of the world, who would still dare to eat seafood?
The seafood industry would collapse on fear alone. Why risk eating seafood and become victims of radioactivity? Yes, fear and uncertainty would cause a meltdown to the world economic order and biosystem. The economic impact would be colossal and disastrous. This would lead to a demand for other food sources leading to scarcity and high prices. The snowballing effect would affect everything, everyone on earth leading to an imbalance of not only the eco system but the relationship of between nations, the supply chains etc etc. Seafood is a major food source and needs to be replaced, substituted by other forms of food, but where is the alternative in such volumes. Where would the problem end?
Not only that, the sea would be avoided. No more sea sports or swimming in the sea, no farming of fish or seafood in the sea as the water are equally contaminated. And the contaminated water would evaporate and come down as purple rain! There is no where to hide.
The whole world would turn topsy turvy when people are avoiding seafood and the sea. Only the desperadoes would continue to feed on seafood as either way they would die, of starvation or hunger. But the majority of the human race would look for other options. This is not about an isolated incident, an isolated part of the world being affected, this is a world in crisis, many folds more serious than the Covid19 pandemic.
The competition for food would be intense, leading to rivalry and wars between nations. The world cannot afford such a crisis that is avoidable and should be avoided at all cost.
Would the world sacrifice a little corner of Japan in Fukushima than risked contaminating the oceans? Would it be better to lock down those waste water, contained it in Fukushima than to contaminate the whole world? Would it be a fair trade off for a little pain in Fukushima than to risk destroying the whole civilisation?
The problem can be contained and not spread to the whole world. This is the price to pay to save the world and human existence and all life forms. There is still time to stop this end of the world scenario. The Japanese govt has just confirmed they are going to dump the contaminated water into sea but has not done it. They will in a few months time.
Stop the death curse before it started, before it is too late.
