Liberation Day - American dock workers and farmers losing their jobs. Oops, liberated from their jobs

There is a joke going around about Trump's 'Liberation Day' tariffs.

'Liberation Day' means dockworkers are now being 'liberated' from their jobs, with shippers cancelling their cargo unloading at USA ports. This is the first line of job losses already evident. It is now reported to be a 20% drop, but some say that is just wishful thinking, saying that a 50% drop is more likely. The effect on retailers, consumers, manufacturers, food and beverage outlets and small business has yet to take off. Which means more job losses are coming. Are tariffs creating jobs or the other way round?

Just how harmful the tariffs are is now unfolding, but we have not seen the worst yet. This is just the beginning and is only late April. Stock piling has managed to mitigate the situation to some extent, with price rises also evident, but come May, June and onwards, it will be fun to watch.

Trust Trump spoke to Xi. That is what a mad man would do, talking to no one but thinking he did spoke to someone

It is so ironical that Trump is telling the world that he spoke to Xi many times over the tariffs, without telling us when. What he really tried to con us is that he did speak to Xi many times before the tariff war started, which is nothing extraordinary. And trying to connect that as talks relating to the tariff war is trying to pull a fast one.

And Trump is spinning out of control by saying that Xi calling him is not showing the world that Xi has lost the plot and have to kiss his arse. Who is he trying to fool? Trying to play a psychological war against Xi hoping to lure Xi to call him? A draught player trying to pit his skills against a chess player is a joke.

I think the tariff war is at the point of no return now and Trump is really desperate in the face of warnings by retailers about empty shelves if this goes on. Even Scott Bessant now realizes it is not sustainable.

When Chinese exporters sealed their export market to the Global South to replace the USA market, that is the end of Chinese export to the USA. And like the case of USA agricultural products for the Chinese market, it will be gone forever and never to return.

Xi is not anxious about Trump not calling him. It is Trump that is clearly anxious, even inventing fake news to say that Xi called him many times. This is clearly desperation on another level.

This is perhaps the best time for China to teach the USA a good lesson for being so arrogant and must let the big bully suffer the consequences. What really makes this a great opportunity is the revelation by Rednote to USA voters that they had been missing the great lifestyle that the 'peasants' are enjoying and which had eluded them more and more.

Trump's regime filled with gays and losers

Someone commented that Scott Bessant seems to be almost on the point of crying in front of the cameras. Not only that, but he also seems incoherent in his speeches, appearing to be nervous and occasionally stuttering.

Despite the high reputation in his investment acumen in hedge fund management from some sources during his term with Soros Fund Management, he is also not immune to failure as well. After leaving Soros Fund Management in 2000, he started his own hedge fund that was to close down in 2005. After dabbling around, he co-founded Key Square Group in 2015, managing assets of US$5.1 billion in 2017 that eventually collapsed to just US$577 million in 2023, with institutional investors shrinking from 180 to just 20 over the same period. Does following Trump's footprint with a string of failures lead to him being sought out by Trump for the job as Treasury Secretary? Birds of a feather flocking together I suppose.

Scott Bessant is also a known gay and together with other gays in Trump's administration, it is turning into a circus of gays.

Trump strangling and killing big tech companies

Jensen Huang of Nvidia visited China in the midst of Trump's trade war against China and the world in general. This is a very sensitive time to make such a visit and its importance to the viability and well being of Nvidia cannot be underestimated. The visit would definitely be frown upon by Trump and his anti China hawks.

Big tech companies are crumbling. Nvidia, AMD, Intel, Micron, Qualcomm and Dutch ASML and Taiwan's TSMC are also badly affected. The growth of these companies is choked by the American regime, stopped from selling to their biggest customers. All the expansion plans would have to be halted. All the innovation of new and advanced chips would have a shrunk market to sell to. The effort would be wasted for the stupidest reasons imposed by the Washington regime.

Nvidia is losing $5 billion revenue per quarter from China. Intel just lost $100 billion as all its chip contracts to China has been cancelled. China is also the biggest customer of AMD, Intel, Micron, Qualcomm and selling to China is as good as gone forever. The joke is that Nvidia cannot sell its most advanced chips to China and has to compromise with a substandard chip to sell to China. It is like selling a Ferrari with a Toyota engine and expecting China to buy it.

With all the controls and sanctions, China is not taking it lying down. China has doubled up on its innovation to replace what the big techs are forbidden to sell to them and coming up with new products on their own. ASML's EUV machine costing billions cannot be sold to China is only part of the story. The bigger story is that China no longer needs them and ASML has just lost the China market. TSMC would eventually only have the American market to sell to, without China. All the big expansion plans for more plants in the USA would become white elephants, overcapacity but no big customer like China to pick up the chips.

Most of the big tech companies would have to downsize and cut jobs when the projected sales have hit a false ceiling, unable to sell to their biggest customer that could absorb a third of their production. This is gone for good. Who else can replace the China market? The American and European markets just can take in so much and nothing more. And they are not expanding unlike the Chinese market that has much more room to grow. They would all be replaced by Chinese big tech companies selling better and cheaper chips to the world.

Hermes admitted their products are Made in China

The Chinese OEM's exposure of luxury brand goods being Made in China has caused a storm in America and the West. Their lies and cheating the consumers by the thousands are making the consumers very angry and feeling very silly. The big brands are also very angry as exposing these lies would hurt their sales and profits and their brands. They are not going to make the same kind of obscene profits from unwary and innocent consumers any more. Sales have plunged, brand loyalty is gone. They must hit back.

Hermes is hitting back by suing the OEMs for violating the contracts, disclosing trade secrets. Hermes is not suing them for lying, for smearing the Hermes brand. Hermes still insists that all their products are not Made in China. Then what is this violation of contracts all about? What contracts did they signed with Chinese OEMs if their products were not made by them? There should not be any contract at all.

By admitting that there are contracts between Hermes and Chinese OEMs, Hermes is directly admitting that their products are Made in China by Chinese factories, and the OEMs are violating the contractual agreements to disclose that Hermes products were made by them.

So, even if Hermes were to win the legal case, they cannot hide the fact that their products were made by Chinese OEMs. And the OEMs would disclose everything in court, including all the correspondence and contractual agreements signed between them and Hermes. Case closed.

Hermes would gain another reputation, for lying that their products were not Made in China.
