Covid19 - Stupidity has no cure

SMRT this photo was taken by my colleague on the North-bound train at Bishan at ~5.15 pm today...
You cut train frequencies to save cost...at a time when the gov is strongly advocating social distancing to stop the spread of COVID-19....how do you expect people to abide by social distancing rules when you don't help to create an environment to support the initiative ??

Above are two pics with attached comments from CNA.  Both shows the crowded trains during Dorscon Pink aka circuit breaker period.  The people who took the pics were exasperated at the cutting down of train frequency in view of more people working from home and the attempt to save operation cost.

Did the people making this decision to reduce the frequency of train not able to see that it would lead to more crowding when social distancing is the order of the day?  Paying millions does not guarantee that you would not get monkeys.

With trains so crowded, how not to expect higher rate of infection?

PS. After all the complaints, SMRT is readjustment the frequency of the trains.

Covid19 - Singapore is the best place to be in for foreign workers

The Covid19 pandemic has brought out the good side and the ugly side of many countries. The Americans under the fumbling Trump who did practically nothing in January and February other boasting that the virus is under control in America, and the virus would ago away miraculously in April, but with more than 600,000 infected cases and more than 30,000 American death, he is now blaming and fighting with everyone.

He fought with the media and reporters, he fought with the governors, he fought with his team, and wanting to sack Fauci, his medical adviser and an expert in infectious disease. Then he turned international to blame China for his failures. Latest he blamed WHO and decided not to pay America's due to WHO in the tune of US$400m.

Many countries also showed their ugly sides by throwing out their migrant workers, leaving them jobless, without food and a roof over their heads, ie leaving them to die. Some were also deported.

The best place for foreign workers to be in at a time like this is Singapore. Singapore is doing everything possible to help the foreign workers here, feeding them, taking care of them, providing them free Covid19 testing, free hospitalisation, free medical care, and protecting their jobs. The PM even went on air to assure their families back home that they need not have to worry as the Singapore Govt is looking after them and would make sure they would return to them safely.

This is Singapore at its best. This is Singapore's Gold Standard in fighting this Covid19 pandemic. Singapore is an example for the world to follow. And every foreign worker would be tested, free of charge. Unlike in the USA, many would not be tested as they did not have enough test kits. Also, in the USA, testing for Covid19 cost US$200 even for Americans.

And oh, foreign workers in Singapore can complain to the govt about their poor accommodation and environment and the govt would listen to them and take appropriate actions to improve their lives. This would not happen in any other country in the world. Foreign workers would normally be left to their own devise and booted out of their countries when they become a nuisance or no longer useful.

See how good Singapore is for foreign workers. But please do not rush to come here. We are flooded with too many foreign workers and many are positive with the virus. If more foreign workers are to come, Singapore will be overwhelmed and there may not be enough of everything for Singaporeans.

Just be patient. After this thing is over, Singapore will open its doors again, wide wide, for 10m or 20 million people to come and live and work here.

I am not sure if the poor and jobless Singaporeans are treated that well, free food, free lodging, free medical, jobs protected, etc etc.  So much sayang sayang.

Covid19 - White Aussie bitches attacking Singaporean and Malaysian girls

A grocery trip turned out to be a traumatising experience for a pair of Singaporean and Malaysian students in Australia.

The female students, who only wanted to be known by their initials C and S, told Mothership that they are currently studying at the University of Melbourne.

Started with verbal abuse

On Apr. 15, C, who is an 18-year-old Singaporean, was out with her 20-year-old Malaysian friend, S, to get some groceries.
While walking down Elizabeth Street, they spotted two Caucasian women verbally harassing other Asian passers-by.
After making eye contact, the women directed their verbal abuse at C and S, shouting "coronavirus" repeatedly...


Watch this video and circulate it to let everyone knows, especially the bananas, that they would be attacked by these vicious white racists. This kind of racist viciousness must not be tolerated and ignored. It must be publicised and condemned. Keeping silence would only encourage the white racists to continue with their attacks.

Covid19 - Singapore setting record with 728 cases in a day

SINGAPORE: Singapore reported a record 728 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday (Apr 16), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 4,427.   CNA

Singapore is setting new records everyday for new cases of infection. 728 is a number that no Asean countries ever seen. And this is happening in tiny Singapore with a population of less than 6m. As of today, only the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia have more cases than Singapore but not for long. Singapore's record breaking rate if maintained, would push Singapore ahead of them in a matter of days.

And on Friday another 623 cases bringing the total to 5050. Indonesia and the Philippines are just hitting 6,000. If this rate of increase is maintained, in two days Singapore would be more than Indonesia and the Philippines, the highest in Asean, number one in Asean.

This is going to put a lot of pressure on our limited resources and hospital facilities. This is going to put a lot of pressure on the govt to declare Dorscon Red, something they are very reluctant to do as it would not only affect commerce but also the possibility of holding a General Election. The Covid19 will now decide if a GE is possible in the next few months.

What is happening to Singapore in managing the Covid19 is a fairy tale turns bad. But what to do, it happened. Let's move on. What, you mean the GE is on?  Oops, just asking aloud, not spreading rumours.

Covid19 - Poor Dr Fauci

Above is a short 6 minute clip of an interview with Dr Fauci by 'ABC News anchor David Muir (on) how the U.S. could reopen and how citizens could get more tests.' In the clip you could see how Fauci was trying to say what his boss expected him to say and instead of telling the truth he went on lying and denying that there is enough information to know what this virus could do should America opens up prematurely. Poor chap.

And Fauci also had to go round and round to avoid answering whether they is enough testing done at the moment to make opening up a safe option. He had to repeat what Trump said in his briefing, that the situation in every state was different and some state had fewer cases and could be open while others could not. Such a statement coming out from Fauci is an absolute lie, a statement that he best not be quoted.

Remember, Trump said there was only one case in America. Then there were 15 but would all go away. But what happened? Today there are more than 650,000 cases from these 1 and 15 cases. This virus is a prolific multiplier when given the chance, and it was given the chance that in 4 months it has spread all over the world and infecting more than 2m people.

The situation in the USA is more dire as they just did not have enough testing done, and in many cases when done, the results would only be known in 9 or 10 days. How are they going to do contact tracing and how could contact tracing be effective when the virus is given a free run for 9 to 10 days?

The USA is waiting to explode. And the earlier Trump and his clowns start to open up a few states here and there, with every state having a minimum of at least 1,000 cases, think how these are going to spread all over the USA. Remember, it started with 1, then 15, then 650,000. Now it is given a chance to start with a few thousands and the clowns said it is ok. Those states with a few thousand cases are safe bets?

Many wiser countries around the world are delaying opening up for business as they know how precarious the situation is. The lockdown must continue until they are in a position to control the testing and the spread. But king clown Trump has proclaimed that the peak is over and the USA is ready for business. And his accomplices, the unthinking in Michigan are protesting in the streets, defying all stay at home orders or social distancing. It would be a repeat of New Orlean after the Mardi Gras Celebration. Well done Michigan. 

And well done Trump. And poor Fauci could not do anything about it but to go along to bring Americans down, with more infection cases and more death. His reputation as a scientist would go down with the clown king.

PS. Trump and his cronies, especially European countries, are reminding the Chinese of the Opium War when the European powers ganged together to attack China for curbing their opium trade in China. China must be in full military alert and exact revenge on these criminals for the wrong they did to China in the 19th Century. The European invaders are thinking of bullying China all over again.

It is time for revenge.
