Having said that, the USA and the West are not themselves making those expensive products. China makes most of those expensive products for them, which the USA and the West just slap a label on top and increase the price several fold to make exorbitant profits, all again to enrich the already rich.
The West's agenda was all along to make sure China does not rise to compete with them but just continue playing peasants making cheap things for them to mark up and make all the profits, so they can continue to screw the rest of the world with expensive products and making and cornering all the wealth of the world. That is ending now, and the USA and the West cannot tolerate China competing with them, making all kinds of issues about trade deficits.

China wanting to serve the Global South countries is a fact accompli. It is already well and truly a done deal. China saw the whole picture more clearly since Trump's first term when he started the trade war. China knows this is the beginning of the end of China's flourishing trade with the USA and over the years, China had already decided that decoupling cannot be avoided.
So, what had China done before and after Trump's first term? In fact, thinking long term, China and Russia already started the ball rolling with the formation of BRICS in 2009, followed by China's BRI project in 2013, well before Trump's first term, having seen the trajectory of the USA's agenda against China under Biden and Obama.
It is rather difficult to pinpoint the straw that broke the camel's back that pushed China to prepare itself for the oncoming anti-China mantra over the last two to three decades. But it was a blessing in disguise that China took the bull by the horns and decided on a path that was plainly seen as a decoupling move, slow but undaunted mindset.
Which is why serving the Global South countries is so important a step to be taken. The preparation was strategic; the commitment total and the result is positive enough to make the USA worried and paranoid. Otherwise, why is Trump unnerved by de-dollarization and even threatening countries joining BRICS with punishing tariffs. Trump can do what he does best, but countries are still giving Trump their middle finger and queuing to join BRICS.
When Deng Xiaoping said, hide your strength, keep your head down, he knew that the white men will be there to cut down China once they see China's rise.
Even then the USA already cannot tolerate China's humble rise. What about India, not yet there but already telling the USA it is aiming to be the next factory of the world and is the next superpower. This is dangling a red cloth in front of a crazy and angry bull.
There is a Chinese saying - Cow baby does not know what a tiger.is trying to provoke it.
Deng saw USA's evil hands against Germany and Japan and knew what is to come if China rises.
Right now, the USA is plotting 'Plaza Accord 2' to take down China. Fat hope!
