Several USA Presidents were involved in escalation of the Vietnam War - Harry S. Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy and Lydon B. Johnson. Richard Nixon, who ended the War, was later to have written a book titled - 'No more Vietnam'. The Vietnam War lasted from 1955 to 1975, twenty years to be exact, the same timeline as USA involvement in Afghanistan. It was a war that was to show the world that the USA can be defeated and not infallible.
USA boys and girls will have to suffer the oven-like situation on the hot decks of their steel cladded warships now around the Strait of Hormuz. The hot sun beating down on the steel decks is no holiday in the sun with blazing temperatures. Elsewhere in any of the USA military bases in the Middle East is being systematically destroyed by Iran. At least during the Vietnam War, they had military land bases in the South for a little reprieve. Now, even USA's multi-billion aircraft carriers and warships are targets for Iranian hypersonic missiles.
